Cracker Jack holder

Hello and welcome.

There’s a little story behind today’s post. Our next-door neighbors babysit their now 3 years old grandson and they happily share him with us. At first, he wasn’t too sure about me, but I fixed that by giving him treats in a small treat box I’d make. This little guy is obsessed with garbage trucks, so I decided to really personalize this for him. Images are computer clip art. Sentiment, “Easily distracted by garbage trucks” was found online. Panel with images was cut with an antique paper cutter. A box of Cracker Jacks fits just right in the box.

Thanks for stopping by your visits mean a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Peaceful Pink

This card took on a life of its own. I was heading in a completely different direction with different layers  when I realized – Hey if  I put gold on this, it would qualify for the Color Hues challenge to use light pink and gold. The original plan was to use a piece of ephemera that used the word Peace. I ussd gold glitter cardstock from Hero Arts to cut the word Peace, also from a Hero Arts set. Unfortunately the die cut Peace didn’t work with the ephemera, which luckily I hadn’t attached to the card. I had already attached pattern paper from Floral Essentials by Gina K Designs. I attached my gold die cut and decided I liked the simplicity of it.

Pink & Gold

Saw a similar layout and wanted to use my freshly cut snowflakes to give a try. All snowflakes were Silhouette cut in white cs. Base on was left as is, Next up was smeared with gold stencil butter and tiny one is pink stencil butter. One dry they were stacked together with glue and sparkle rounds added. The bg piece was masked with stencil and the gold stencil butter applied. Once dry I partially dry embossed with snowflake ef. Used the pink stencil butter, watered it down to color the sentiment dies with a paint brush. Was not my intention to have ombre but that is how the water mixed and dried. Probably could not do it again if I tried. Mounted the piece on white cs base.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

Color Hues: Pink & Gold

Mix It Up: No Stamping

Challenge Up Your Life: Ice, Ice Baby

HELLO 2023

I was inspired by Lisa’s Penguins Welcoming 2023 card that she posted a few days ago using Gerda Steiner Designs digi freebie and this is the card that I came up with. After coloring in the numbers and the penguins I decided to coloring in the rest of the panel using my makers. It was fun to do but lots of coloring. I added a simple die cut with shadow on vellum hello and some layering to complete my card to kick off a brand new year!

Here’s to making new memories in 2023!

Once I started coloring I decided on different color backgrounds and then needed one more card so I enlarged the image slightly and it was much easier to color. Lol.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.

Wedding Rose

Happy New Year!!

Today’s card is for our favorite breakfast server. She is so sweet I just love her. The very suttle pp was found online, rose die is Rose Garden Thinlits from SU, heart with 2 rings is from the Silhouette. The dies were cut from Toner Paper so I could foil them. I used a real shimmery silver foil. I had such a hard time getting a good picture with the foil but I think this one turned out best. It really looks nice i-r-l.

Thanks for stopping by I so appreciate your visits. Have a fun safe New Year’s Eve and have a wonderful 2023.

Hello – no stamping

I needed some quick cards for shut-ins. I found an odd sized thin pad of patterned paper that came with a card kit from Simon Says. The focal panel and mat were cut with Matting Basics 2. I used the Handwritten Hello from Simon Says. I was pleased at how easy it was to line up with the shadow layer.

You can get one hello with and one shadow layer cut from the mat layer of ML2. All CS is GKD – Christmas Pine, Prickly Pear, Moonlit Fog, Powder Blue, Lemon Drop, Kraft and Grass Green. It was fun to make cards with no stamping for a change.

Snowy Joy

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #30

Can You Handle The Pressure Anything Goes with the Twist of SNOW

I decided to play along with two challenges today with my gold snowflake card. After cutting down two sections of card stock, I embossed them with my Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I like this type of card design by am challenged to get the dimenstions just right so after many trims of the cardstock it’s better than horrible. The patterned paper is from a Michael’s Recollections gold/black & white pad from my stash. Using Spellbinder’s word die for JOY and I believe Cherry Lynn snowflake die which was cut in gold metallic paper and layered on a white die cut. My card was complete.

Temps are going up finally and more rain is on it’s way but for me it’s better than snow.

I was inspired from the Peace On Earth mood board to use gold and white. I did add a little blue snow stencil on the card base.

Can You Handle the Pressure requires an embossing folder and the twist of snow. I always try to play along with the twist.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Gingerbread Christmas

This card began on Splitcoast Stampers with the Challenge Your Stash December challenge. The hostess asked for gingerbread or another sweet on your card. I went with gingerbread.

This card will be added to the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge with the anything Christmas option.

I used November 2020 Paper Pumpkin stamp set for the house. I embossed with white pigment ink, then used a Bic marker to color the small spaces trying to keep it away from the white embossing. The stitched square and rectangle dies are from The Stamps of Life. The decorative square die used is from Spellbinders. The gingerbread man is from The Stamps of Life addition set that goes with a snow globe set. The greeting is also TSOL from a large gingerbread set.

I enjoyed creating this card. I used an idea I saw on Pinterest. It was nice to use my stash and create something totally different with the items.

Thank You

Hello and welcome. I hope your Christmas plans weren’t too messed up from the all the nasty weather and travel cancelations.

Today’s card is for our neighbor’s son & d-i-l. They sent us a very nice meat & cheese box from a WI dairy as a thank you for helping out their mom. She lives alone so we do what we can to help her.

The wavy lines were cut on the Silhouette, swirly is Swirly Scribbles Thinlits by SU, sentiment is a stamp from SU’s Daisy Delight stamp set. It would be so nice if all cards were this quick and easy. But then, I really like a little challenge.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking to the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
