Copper Anniversary

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our middle granddaughter. Being that copper and wool are the traditional gifts for the 7th anniversary I decided to go with copper. Instead of going online and finding penny clip art, I actually scanned a penny. I found I had a circle punch the size of a penny, so the paper pennies are actual size. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. I added a little note inside explaining the reason for the pennies. This is really pretty simple, but I do like it.

Happy 21st

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our oldest great-grandson…. yikes!! Embossing folder used is from Cuttlebug, circle die is Spellbinders classic circles, numbers were cut on the Silhouette. To make the numbers look a little better I added Wink of Stella. I like using foil for masculine cards. It’s pretty simple but I like it, so does hubby.

Look In Mirror

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is dear-old-sister’s August chuckle. Again, image and sentiment were found online. “When I look in the mirror and see gray hair, fine lines, and dimming eyes, I think… they sure don’t make mirrors like they used to.” d-o-s agrees. To add a little texture, I scored double lines on all 4 sides.

After a fun, very busy week’s visit in MN with family and old friends it feels good to be back home and in my craft room. It took me a few days to rest up.

Cat On Witch

Hello and welcome. I thought it was about time to get back to doing a challenge card.

The card base is smokey slate and I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to ‘dirty’ it up a bit. Moon is from an unbranded die set. Before cutting the moon, I sponged white cs with Dafodil Delight and lightly swiped with smokey slate stamp pad. Grass was punched with Martha Stewart grass punch and again I ‘dirtied’ it up with gray stamp pad. Die sets used are Tim Holtz.

First Anniversary

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for one of our granddaughters & hubby.

I Googled what the first anniversary traditional gift was and found that it’s paper, (and that’s what cards are made from). lol I also saw that yellow or gold is the color and gold is the gem. Sentiment was printed on the computer, gold glitter paper hearts are from a small hand punch. I couldn’t decide what color cs to use till I found that yellow is the color for first anniversary. I think it’s fun to lookup each anniversary and somehow incorporate the traditional gift on the card.

Foiled Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for one of our grandson-in-laws. I think cards using foil make a great masculine card. Embossing folder used is Spots and Dots by Cuttlebug, sentiment is from an old Gina K stamp set, circles were cut with the Silhouette. I wanted to add a little accent to it and found the black dots at the bottom on my gem box. I wasn’t too sure if I really liked it, but hubby liked it and thought that Josh would too.

9 th Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our youngest great-grandson. Since he was playing baseball this summer, I thought a baseball theme card would be perfect. White side panel was embossed with a Stampin Up embossing folder, sentiment die is unbranded from Amazon, baseballs are computer clit art. I added the number 9 to one ball. Balls were punched with Stampin Up’s 1 3/8 circle punch, and I went around the outside edges with a black marker. I hope he’ll like it.

Acts Of Kindness

Hello and welcome. Yup, time again for d-o-s chuckle card.

Background paper was found in my scraps, arch dies are unbranded from Amazon, image and sentiment were found online. “Sometimes I like to do little random acts of kindness. Like keeping my mouth shut.”. Lots of people think I’m being kind when I keep my mouth shut. lol

O-fish-ally Retired

Hello and welcome. This card is for an employee my husband hired while he was in high school and 45 years later, he’s retiring. He plans on doing a lot of fishing now.

Background paper and image were found online, the fish is computer clip art. Sentiment was found from looking at cards on Pinterest. Inside sentiment “Turn all your work stories into giant fish tales.” was also found on Pinterest. Hubby thinks this a great card, and I think the recipient will like it.
