happy 14th birthday

Hello and welcome.

Oh my, great-grandchildren grow up way too fast. Today’s card is for our second oldest great-grandson. I didn’t really have any idea of what kind of card to make but I thought a black & white background might be kind of cool so off to Google I went and found this kind of funky pattern. Then I thought a funky background should have a wonky square accent. Wonky square is from the Silhouette, then I printed the sentiment from my Hallmark program. My little brain just hasn’t figured out the print and cut feature of the Silhouette. Square is popped up. Here’s a look at the inside.

butterflies and roses

Hello and welcome. Well, I finally finished my first lattice card. Because the creative part of my brain was on vacation this took longer than it should have. I’m actually kind of pleased with the end result.

Patterned paper on the top front and lower inside was found online, die cut rose is Gina K’s Tropical Blooms colored with Copic’s, butterflies are Butterfly 2 from Dies R Us. Butterflies have a piece of mounting tape in the center so the wings aren’t attached to the background.

young once

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our b-i-l. Since I didn’t have any actual burlap, I found burlap background paper online. Sentiment was also found online. Because the paper looks burlapy I thought this wonky edge unnamed die set would work well. Sentiment piece is popped up. Corner gold pieces are from my stash. Below is a look at the inside.

Seeing the “frame” from the die cut I thought it would be perfect for inside.

wedding day

Hello and welcome. My BFF since 3rd grade asked me to make a wedding card for her granddaughter, and of course I was happy to do it. She is very happy with it.

Silhouette image was found online, sentiment was printed in my Hallmark program, frame is from Frantic Stamper Inc., Ovals and Filagree Frame. Below is a look at the inside sentiment.

birthday advice

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for a very special gal who appreciates my humor. After a couple years of her being our favorite server we became very good friends.

Patterned paper and sentiments were found online. Outside sentiment is a recent find and the inside sentiment has been in my file for several years. I thought they combined pretty well. Oval die is Stitched Ovals by Di-namics. That seems to be my go-to die lately.

don’t need Google

Hello and welcome.

Time again for dear old sister’s chuckle of the month. Hubby told me about a sentiment he’d seen on a t-shirt “I don’t need Google… My wife knows everything.” He suggested I change it to my husband knows everything for a d-o-s chuckle card. She loved it and agreed with me that my hubby actually believes it. Embossing folder used is from Stampin Up, image is computer clip art, frame is Stitched Ovals by Di-namics.

french fry batman

https://cardsbygerry.blogspot.com/

Hello and welcome. No card today just this french fry treat holder. Our next-door neighbor “share” their 3-year-old grandson with us and for some reason the little guy expects a treat from me each time he comes over. Hmmm, wonder how that got started. Since Riley has Batman jammies and T-shirts, I used computer clip art to make Batman stickers. It’s so much fun making little treat holders. I found the template for the french fry box on Pinterest.

grim reaper

Hello and welcome. Well, I thought it was time to get back to the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.

Background paper was found online and using my Hallmark Card Program I printed Happy Halloween on the top. Moon is an old circle hand punch, bats are a wood base rubber stamp from Stampin Up (I’m sure it’s been retired many years). Grim Reaper, who I popped up, spooky tree and witch were all found in my Halloween stash. Reaper is a Tim Holtz die, tree is from the Silhouette, witch is an old punch I no longer have.
