Blue Bird

I saw the current Can You Handle the Pressure challenge and knew I had to create a card.

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/06/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html

I love watching birds and coloring birds. I used the SU Friendly Hello set for the focal image. The embossing folder is also SU, possibly called Layered Leaves. I colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers. The oval dies are a combination of SU and Gina K Designs. I chose not to add a greeting to the front. I will place something inside when I am ready to send the card.

Bee-Lated Black and Yellow

I’m somewhat obsessed with the background stamp from the April My Monthly Hero Kit. The matching layered stencil makes it so much fun and easy to color. Best of all, I can get two cards out of one background. Colored with GKD inks: Wild Dandelion, Prickly Pear, Jelly Bean Green and Fresh Asparagus.  After cutting an A-2 panel, I had this piece left. I added black mat. Since I needed a belated birthday card, I used the sentiment from Many Birthdays by Spellbinders. Even though the background has bees, I wanted a larger bee for an accent piece. I colored a bee from the January 2021 My Monthly Hero kit and die cut extras to give it some dimension. I’ve been away from posting and entering challenges for several months. Thanks to Stamp Buddy Johanna, I discovered that Black and Yellow was the combo for the current challenge at Color Hues and thought this would be a good way to jump back in.

New Home, CAS

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for my daughter’s m-i-l. She decided it was time to downsize and sold her big house and bought a townhome. Card is a Silhouette file and the tulips are from an old hand punch. It didn’t start out to be a square card but because of my bad sizing on the file that’s how it turned out. Just another example of one of my mishaps that turned out kind of o.k.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Summer Scene

The Sisterhood of Crafters

Seasonal landscapes is the challenge with The Sisterhood of Crafters. The idea for my card came to me after watching a quick video on my Facebook page a few days ago. As you may know when posts are added to your FB feed things tend to get lost and could not find the post again.

My summery landscape scene portrays the hot weather that’s sure to arrive soon by blending DO Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Ripe Persimmon inks over a masked circle die. Not to take anything away from my background, I chose to use silhouette die cuts in black cardstock. Penny Black’s Pasture Grass and Spellbinders Flutter Tree completes my card. No outside sentiment needed in my opinion. I think this will be part of my batch of cards for “Making Cards for Troops” group.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Santa Teddy

Hello and welcome. Today’s card will be entered in the Peace On Earth challenge. Pp and candy cane foam stickers were in my stash. I didn’t even know I had those stickers till I went rummaging through some of my stash. I have no idea of when or where I got them. Frame is Stitched Oval by Die-namics. Santa Teddy image was found on an online coloring page and colored with Copic’s. Corners of pp were punched with a small circle punch.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Partial Embossing

Can You Handle The Pressure?

Anything Goes Embossing with a Twist of Butterflies is the challenge for the Can You Handle The Pressure team. For my embossed feature I used two embossing folders the clouds embossing folder is from Darice and Cuttlebug’s Stylized Flowers embossing folder. Both were partially embossed and lightly inked leaving a space for my Gina K Designs Sketched Flowers sentiment. I added two score lines to separate my cloud from my vines. The twist is a butterfly from Pretty Pink Posh’s Beautiful Butterfly stamp & die set. The butterfly was stamped on a gel press background that was unused from Day 3’s homework at Spring CardCamp.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Daffodil Thanks

So thrilled that the Power Poppy blog is back and sharing ideas and inspiration. The current challenge is April Flowers Bring May Flowers, so I had to color an image.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2022/05/the-blossom-challenge-bring-those-may.html

I used the new Sketches of Spring Vol. 1 digital image. These daffodils are so pretty and fun to color with the sketch lines drawn by Marcella Hawley. When I color this again, I plan to change the buds color and the large flower behind the daffodils. This time all of the flowers are colored in yellow and orange tones. I used a variety of alcohol markers on this image. I enjoyed taking the time to color.

This card will be used for my monthly Crafter’s of Faith challenge card at SplitcoastStampers. This month the verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. The challenge is to make a card giving glory to God. I believe all nature gives glory to God, so this image is perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Auntie Awesome

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for my niece. The saying, “9 out of 10 children get their awesomeness from their aunt” was found on Pinterest. Adding 9 children seemed like a good idea so I Googled ‘Children Playing’ clip art. There was a little editing to do but it was kind of fun. Soft sky background was made using a cotton ball and Bashful Blue stamp pad. Since I don’t have a cloud stencil, I just tore the edge of a piece of paper. For just a little texture I doubled scored all 4 edges. I usually put a sticker on the back of my cards with my name but for this one I’m putting Awesome Auntie.

Frankie

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/06/june-anything-halloween.html

Glad you stopped by to meet Frankie. He’s being entered in the Two Old Bats challenge. This was not a lot of work. Frankie is from the Silhouette. His face seemed a little blah, so I tried to mark it up a bit with a stylus but that didn’t work out so well, so I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to sort of mess up his face. Since I cut him a little too big, I wasn’t able to keep a border around the pp. Pp was found online.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
