Husband

https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2022/06/white-with-one-other-color-only.html

Today’s card is DOS’s chuckle of the month. Sentiment, “My husband always takes the garbage out.. …but never me” is from a Mother Goose And Grimm comic strip. Background papers and image were found online. DOS liked the card and said her husband had never even taken the garbage out. Hope this qualifies for the White with one other color challenge at DoubleD

BUTTERFLY SLIMLINE

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/05/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of_01162837008.html

I thought a slimline card would work pretty well for this Can You Handle The Pressure? challenge. Embossing folder used came with my Gemini. Butterfly die is Vivienne & Darla Butterfly by Memory Box. At first, I had the blue layer directly on the yellow base but it didn’t look quite right and since the butterfly overlay is black I thought a black layer would really add a lot. Was I right?

Bonus Day Homework

Hero Arts Flower Garden Fancy Die, Taylored Expressions, On Occasion stamp & die set, Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, Broken China, Seedless Preserve inks.

Saturday was a Bonus Day at the Spring CardCamp with Kelly Taylor instructing Ghosting and Faux Letterpress which will give your a 2-for-1 card technique. And guess what? It finally worked!! I struggled with the letterpress but following Kelly’s directions gave me a much better result. Ink blend a panel with water reactive inks. Die cut image from 80 lb cardstock and then again from watercolor cardstock. Glue the two die cut laters together and keeping the watercolor layer on the top, spray with water, place on the inked panel and run through as embossed panel in your machine. The tip was to dry the smooshed together cardstocks with your heat tool then carefully peel off and it really worked. I did have one little section that pulled off a little color from my blended sheet but covered that up with the star embellishments.

Fun challenge and a fun two weeks at CardCamp. I guess school is officially out for summer!!

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time.

Take care and be safe.

Today’s card is for the Photo Week challenge at Just Us Girls. Background paper was found online, bike and sentiment are from Gina K’s Your Own Kind Of Beautiful stamp set. Grass is a MS punch, birds are from an online coloring page. Coloring of bike and birds was done with Copic’s, bike is popped up. For the bike trail I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad.

Day 10 Mini-Slimline

Rainbow Leaf Mini-Slimline with Gina K
.https://shoppingourstash.blogspot.com/2022/05/sos471-make-mine-tall-one.html

When I cut my other leaves for my wreath, I cut longer leaves for this card. The paper is the same. The leaf is from a set that someone gave to me. It makes a 5 X 7 gift box and card and it contains many other dies like this leaf. The leaf had no texture, so I embossed the leaves with the Swiss Dots folder. Many of the leaves hung off the edge so I trimmed them.

I am adding this card to the Shopping Our Stash challenge to Make a Tall Card. Since this is a mini-slimline, it fits. The paper is mostly Gina K Designs, My Favorite Things, and Hobby Lobby.

Try To Be Good

When I saw this image I immediately thought of my second granddaughter, who is the most like me. My son & d-i-l say, “why did she have to take after Grandma Gerry”. She has my humor and snarkiness. The only difference from the photo is that my granddaughter has always been very blonde.

The background in the photo inspired me to emboss the gray background piece with Tim Holtz Brick ef lightly sponged with Basic Gray stamp pad. Frame is Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Small. I loved making this and can’t wait till she gets it.

Day 10 Homework

Gina K Designs Sketched Flowers Stamp and Enjoyable Greetings stamps and die sets, SimonSaysStamp Square Dance Stencil, GKD and SSS inks., Glossy Accents, silver Liquid Pearls.

Today’s Spring CardCamp class lesson was presented by GinaK to create a card using rainbow colors and die cuts. I opted for two die cuts from Sketched Flowers and using my various rainbow ink pads inked the leafy vines then stamped with versamark and clear heat embossed. The background continues with a rainbox of colors using the inked brushes over the square dance stencil, layered on a piece of black cardstock then mounted on my vibrant green card base. I was inspired by and CASE’d Cathy Zielske’s YouTube card from yesterday.

Fun challenge today. the second instructor was Zsoka Marko who created die cut background cards.

Day 10 Wreath

Day 10 is all about patterns and rainbows.

Die cut wreath with Gina K.

I think anyone who is a Gina K Designs follower will recognize the placement of any wreath made using the wreath builder. I followed her directions today and made the die cut wreath. The dies I used are SU dies that recently retired, so I picked them up for half the original price. This shows one of the leaf dies. I used the colors that Gina used making an 8 color rainbow. My greeting came from a Paper Smooches set. I enjoyed creating with Gina’s ideas.

Today’s card is a CASE of one I saw on Pinterest you can see here https://www.pinterest.com/pin/342555115418393891/

As the challenge is to use things from our stash, everything used has been in my stash for quite a while. Luckily the pp was just the right size. Dies used are Leafy Greenery and Stitched Ovals both from Di-namics. I used a toothpick to add glue to the leaves otherwise I would have had glue all over.
