Orange you glad…

….I didn’t say boo!  Orange and white is the challenge that Double D Challenges has issued for this week.  I didn’t think I could do Halloween without black but my card features a ghostly white haunted house from SimonSaysStamps “creepy cute” stamp set and a ghostly border of Gina K’s Wicked stamp set illustrated by Beth Silaika.  I added a layered “boo” die cut from SSS as well as a glittery trick or treater die cut.

And since I was on an orange an white theme, the inside of my card continued with the theme.

Card stock was GKD’s coral reef; inside was patterned paper that I then sponged coral reef onto it since the color was off a bit, added another “boo” and trick or treater.  The haunted house was inked with versamark ink and heat embossed with fine detail white embossing powder and colored in with a Stampin Up white colored pencil.  The ghosts were all stamped in versamark and heat embossed with fine detail embossing powder.

BOO!!

Rose Petal Butterflies

Today’s card will be entered into the ModSquadChallenge to use something from nature on your card.  My nature items are rose petal butterflies.  I glued some rose petals to a piece of cardstock, punched them out using two different Martha Stewart punches.  The stamp set used on the card is Gina K Designs’ Rose Bouquet which was stamped in versamark ink and emboss set with gold embossing powder.  I added a layer of gold embossing and a swiss dot embossing folder layer before finally mounting on to a card base.  I wanted to focus the color on my rose petal butterflies.

I did have to redo my butterflies since they shrunk a little in the places that no glue was adhered.  Somewhere in my stash I should have some of that Stick It paper…I’ll have to search.

Halloween 2019

So yesterday I eagerly awaited my delivery from SimonSaysStamps with the Halloween STAMPtember kit purchase plus another goodie.  Imagine my surprise when my order came in a box.  Immediately my brain went into overdrive thinking that this included a Golden Bone from SSS for their STAMPtember release giveaway promotion.  Wow….a year’s worth of some free SSS release goodies….so I carefully opened the box and to my surprise….NO Golden Bone.  Oh well, it could have been me and one day we’ll win the lottery too.

Not to be discouraged I created this card which is kind of super cute and will probably be for my granddaughter Brooke.  Adding a little bit of sparkle mesh over the witchy skirt and a sentiment on top to me completed the legs only image 🙂  I’ve been using the Wild Orchid cardstock from GKD which was an in-color a few years ago for most of this year’s cards.  Since I’m down to my last two pieces of cardstock, I’m happy that I am almost finished with my Halloween 2019 cards.

Framed Sentiment

My card today is for the Double D Challenge to Focus on the Sentiment.  Still creating Halloween and pulled out the Inkadinkadoo Trick or Treat stamp set again which had the largest sentiment in my collection.  I stamped it in GKD’s white pigment ink which is not really a stark white but hopefully has a more spooky affect to it.  Our buddy, Johanna, gifted me some die cut frames and have finally been able to put them to good use.  I was hoping for a little abstract affect to go along with my spooky sentiment :).

I didn’t want to cut off any of the frames so I mounted this on a 5×7 card, covering another layer of card stock with my sparkle mesh Dollar Store find.

Stenciled Stars

I created this card for the ModSquadChallenge to use a brand name stencil on a card or tag.  My stencil is a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Hocus Pocus layering stencil which I stenciled over some patterned paper for the bottom section of the layout using GKD’s Glitz glitter gel in gold and stenciled the top white portion using Memento Dandelion ink and GKD’s Coral Reef ink.  Also included on my card was an image from Inkadinkadoo’s Trick or Treat clear stamp set and the sentiment from GKD’s Spooktacular You! stamp set.  I picked up some Halloween sparkle mesh at my local dollar store and decided to cover the sentiment with it.  Not too scary so probably going to a “little” grand-friend!

Fall is in the Air Challenge

SAM_4016

Today’s card will be entered into the StampTV September Monthly Mix Challenge hosted by Karen to create a Fall themed card with background paper.  My card uses the designer paper from GKD’s Autumn Landscape patterned paper pack, dark chocolate cardstock, wild lilac ink, Thankful Leaves stamp set and dies and Skeleton Leaves stamp set.

I die cut one of the leaves from the dark chocolate and layered white cardstock to show the patterned paper beneath it, then stamped one leaf on patterned paper and the other in ink.

August 2019 For the Boys Challenge

I’m entering this card into the StampTV August 2019 “For the Boys” challenge hosted by Sheri which we are to create a project with a male theme.  I’m not sure if this would be considered “male” theme but this summer the place where my husband was most relaxed was during our visits to the Jersey Shore.  I used Melanie Muenchinger’s “Gifts from the Sea” for my background.  Covered my cardstock with versamark then stamped the images and covered the layer in Perfect Pearls “perfect pearl” and then brushed some prefect bronze Perfect Pearls by Ranger onto some of the shells.  I partially stamped the row of shells and added a simple sentiment.  GKD cardstock used on this card.

It is very shiny IRL and I kind of like the way it turned out.

Hip Recovery

This AI (Art Impressions) clear stamp set Doggy Kisses by Bonnie Krebs always makes me laugh.  Love the dogs especially the doxie but today’s card I’m using the pooch in the cone and sent it to my old boss who just had hip replacement surgery.  Inside sentiment was “on the bright side….you don’t need a cone”!  Maybe my sense of humor but love this one.

I used an unknown stencil that I purchased before stencils became popular and lightly sponged some GKD ink on a portion of the card.

Princess Street

Two little grand-“friends” birthdays coming up in September.  The first one will be three and is loving Disney Princesses.  I used a few Inkadinkadoo (EK Success) Disney stamps and the GKD wreath builder for this card.  The images were large for the wreath builder so I could only stamp each one four times.   I’m including the inside photo also since it’s really sweet.

My next little grand-“friend” is turning two and loves Elmo.  I found free clip art on line, printed and fussy cut Elmo, popped him up on a Happy Birthday embossing folder layer, die cut a two and used GKD’s Sweet Tweets stamp set for the birthday cupcake which I stamped on the embossed layer then stamped, colored and fussy cut to be popped up over the stamped image.
