Today’s card will be entered into the ModSquadChallenge to use something from nature on your card. My nature items are rose petal butterflies. I glued some rose petals to a piece of cardstock, punched them out using two different Martha Stewart punches. The stamp set used on the card is Gina K Designs’ Rose Bouquet which was stamped in versamark ink and emboss set with gold embossing powder. I added a layer of gold embossing and a swiss dot embossing folder layer before finally mounting on to a card base. I wanted to focus the color on my rose petal butterflies.
I did have to redo my butterflies since they shrunk a little in the places that no glue was adhered. Somewhere in my stash I should have some of that Stick It paper…I’ll have to search.

Thanks for looking!
Such a cool effect with the color on the butterflies. Very peaceful.
Thanks, Bonnie, I was happy with the finished product even though I made three attempts.
Awesome idea – using real rose petals to create butterflies. They’re beautiful.
Thanks so much, Judy, my roses although pretty year were not a plentiful as past years but I really like the way they turned out.
BEAUTIFUL!!! What a great idea to use rose pedals for the butterflies.
Thanks so much, Gerry, I was hoping my idea would work. I use those Martha Stewart punches often.
Gayle, this is beautiful and what a wonderful way to add texture, as well as some scent, I’m sure.
Golda, you are right about the scent..they were quite fragrant. I put a note inside the card to let my friend know that they were rose petals.
Very pretty! What a neat way to add the outside to your card.
Thanks, Lisa, I appreciate your support.
What a great idea! The butterflies look so soft – now I know why!
How clever! Love the end result!!
I finally found your post here. I love this, so over the top creative. Just beautiful. Please enter your card again over at The Mod Squad, so sorry I deleted it. As I said, I couldn’t access your post here and didn’t know you had used something from nature. Thanks for playing along.
This is so clever and having read the comments made in private I can understand how you must have felt when it got deleted. Looks like Judy was willing to have you resubmit but perhaps too late for you to do so. Great card though and I love the colour of the rose petals. Wow.
So clever and those butterflies are gorgeous. Congratulations on making the Top Three too.
