For this anything goes Christmas challenge and the mood board posted for inspiration, found this little die cut bird. After diecutting cutting him off the branch I decided upon a SimonSaysStamp Forest Border embossing folder for my background and a landing place for the bird. The panel was embossed on navy cardstock, swiped with white pigment ink, edges ink blended with Black Soot Distress ink and a little white splatter. The snow hills are also SSS and sentiment is from Artful Inkables Peaceful Wishes stamp set.

I spent time coloring a CAS card with a Power Poppy stamp set.
I used the Potted Primroses stamp set. It is no longer available as a clear set but you can purchase images as a digital stamp. I used Gina K Designs Amalgum ink for my stamping. I have a mini pad and it took about 3 times in the Misti to get a solid black impression, so I am not sure I really like this ink. However, I didn’t know how I wanted to color the image, so I chose this ink. I decided to use my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The lavender paper is from Stampin Up and is retired. I added score lines to give it something extra.
And the challenge is: Anything Goes with a Twist Dots with the required embossing folder. For my card which will be shared in the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge, I created a frame from Spellbinder’s Hemstitch Rectangles which was popped up on the card base. The patterned paper sky was inserted in place and stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts’ August 2017 My Monthly Hero kit. The balloons were cut from a piece of water colored background on my desk using Pinpoint Balloons dies, adding some floss and a Taylored Expressions red bow to complete this card.

After I started it I thought it would be fun to make the center hearts appear to be floating so I added a piece of clear acetate behind the center cut heart. All hearts are from the Silhouette with Star Dust Stickles added to the center ones. Red panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Cross My Heart ef, ribbon is from my stash. Front panel is popped up with Foam Adhesive Strips by SU.
I’m entering this in JUGS anything with a heart and CYHTP anything goes with a twist of dots.
Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
I’m trying to rebuild my stash. While cruising the internet today, I came across the current Color Throwdown Challenge CTD#725 to use red, green and brown. The flower is Bold Bloom Mini by Gina K Designs, colored with Copics: R22, 24, 27, 29 and G03, 09, 14. The mat is Dark Chocolate. The Hand Written Hello sentiment by Simon Says Stamp was also cut from Dark Chocolate. I added Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle. This sentiment has a shadow die, but I opted not to use it. I had another idea for a sentiment but I decided Hello would better cover an oopsie. The card base is Kraft.
I found a few challenges that I thought would be fun to create for.
For this card I used Paper Smooches Rosy Posy set. Paper Smooches has been closed for well over a year, but I have never inked this set and colored it. The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp You Shine. This set was part of a card kit, which I did not purchase. I did purchase the patterned paper used in the kit and recently the stamp set went on sale, so I took the plunge and purchased it. It worked well for the greeting.
I used watercolor with the colors for this challenge. After the image was dry, I tried adding texture with the small end of the Cherry Cobbler marker. I liked the effect.
I left a lot of white space, so this is definitely a clean and simple card.
It was fun using these colors, finding items in my stash, and creating a card. I am not sure who will receive this card, but hopefully soon I will find the person to send it to.
My card today will be entered into two challenges. The first challenge is AAA Cards Challenge #231 Clean & Simple Challenge and their Moodboard “All the Bears”.
And the second challenge is a new to me challenge Cardz 4 Galz Clean and Simple Challenge.
Two clean and simple challenges and one with a theme of bears. I searched through my stash of stamps and decided on an unknown wood mounted bear in overalls for my image. The sentiment is Taylored Expressions from last year’s StampJoy. Added a hint of blue ink under Mr. Bluejeans Bear to help ground him a bit. Looks like lots of open space and only one layer to finish off this card for these CAS challenges.

I made small easels to display these little tear off calendars from Taylored Expressions for friends. After preparing the easel I used patterned paper from Gina K Designs to create a mat for the calendar. I planned to make New Year’s cards to mail with the calendars. I used the Happy New Year sentiment from the Season’s Greetings set by Sunny Studios embossed in gold on black, cut with the matching die. I discovered that the scraps that were left from the mats behind the calendar were just the perfect size for the sentiment. I matted the patterned paper with black. I used the fireworks stamps from Let’s Party, an incentive from Gina K designs stamped tone on tone on the card base. The calendars tucked nicely into the card and went through the mail without additional postage. This is just one of several colors of cards and patterned paper. I’m hoping this project is CAS enough for the Cardz 4 Gals Challenge #190 CAS
Congratulations Diane and Darlene on the 7th birthday of Double D Challenges. I so enjoy playing along with your challenges. The themes, mood boards and design team cards are always inspiring.
Today’s card is for a little one turning 3 this month. Although he’s already a car guy especially jeeps, I opted to take him to outer space. My background was created using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and the moon mask stencil. The images and sentiment is an old stamp set by Love Nicole which must have been made for AC Moore. A really cute stamp and die set that stamps nice clean images. I framed my sentiment (which I should have heat embossed with embossing powder) to help it stand out from the background.
This is the inside of the little guy’s card. The birthday cake is from Stampendous named Candles. I lost the 3 so added a little green man to continue with the outer space theme. I should have looked a little longer because that 3 was in my misplaced stamps bin on my desk. 🙂 I think I will put a little note in the card that the rocket ship is “Hemi Powered”. If anyone knows of any good jeep stamps or car stamps, I’d appreciate the share.
Love this mood board and was inspired to use the colors from it for my card.
