One of my (few) New Year’s Resolutions is to enter more challenges.  So here I go! I started this for the Mod Squad Challenge to create your own pattern paper, then realized it would fit some other challenges as well. The pattern paper was created using  “Let It Snow” by Theresa Momber and “Sparkling Snowflakes” both by Gina K. Designs. The snowflakes were stamped in VersaMark, then embossed with GKD Detailed Silver EP on Powder Blue CS. The sentiment is a combination – “Warm Winter” is from “Let It Snow” (I masked off  “wishes”). Birthday is from Massive Messages (I trimmed off Wishes). “Wishes” is a die from a new set (to me) called “Wishes”. I cut Wishes three times for dimension (twice in Blue Denim, once in white colored with Copic B39).  The mat for the sentiment panel and card base are Blue Denim. Enchanted Heart

Dies R Us DRU Challenge #136 – Anything Goes using a die from the store.

Today’s card is for the challenge at Dies R Us using a metal die and one that is carried by the store. The die on my card is a Memory Box “Enchanted Heart” die that I just purchased from Dies R Us. I’m loving it and will hopefully add Glorious Hearts die which according to the packaging work together. I die cut the heart 4 times, used Hero Arts Pink to Red ombre ink pad for the inlaid heart pieces, added some extra Martha Stewart heart border punch hearts to the card and stamped the sentiment from Gina K’s Lovely Ladybug stamp set by Beth Slaika. The top heart outline was sprayed with Hero Arts’ white iridescent shimmer spray.

ModSquadChallenge Patterned Paper Play

Challenge at ModSquadChallenge is to create your own patterned paper background. I used GKD’s Pretty Patterns by Melanie Muenchinger for my “zig-zag” background inked with Powder Blue (top and bottom section) in and then the middle in Tranquil teal GKD ink. Using the Scor-Buddy, I embossed and debossed the points of the chevron so IRL it show more dimension. The sentiment is also a GKD stamp from Happy Birthday to You set stamped in navy onto the SSS Burst Die** and then sprayed with Hero Arts white iridescent shimmer spray. This one is for my son-in-law’s birthday.

**This die was very difficult to cut out. I used a metal plate and ran it through my big shot maybe four times and it still did not completely cut out completely. I’m going to try again before contacting SSS to find out if they had any other issues with this die. If anyone has any cutting tips, please share.

Double D Challenges: Celebrating 4 years at Double D Challenge

A fun challenge from the Double D Challenge celebrating 4 year of challenges and the challenge is to use a punch. So I was so focused on using punches, I forgot about the mood board but I think if you mix all of the colors together in the mood board it would look like my card…LOL!

My punches for this card are: SU Scallop 1-1/4 and 1-3/8 circle punches, Marvy Uchidy large circle punch and Martha Stewart border punch. I also used a SSS Coffee Love die and Sugar Pea for Stamp of Approval “You” die. Sentiment is from Gina K’s Mugs & Kisses by Melanie Muenchinger.

Hubby’s valentine card = done!

Neutral Challenge

Sunday Stamps – Stay Neutral SSC221

My card for the Sunday Stamps challenge to use three neutral colors from the graphic provided.

As I am neutral colors challenged, my card uses, gray, black, white and cream. The stencil was sponged using Memento London Fog ink, Tim Holtz weathered wood and black soot distress inks, then using VersaMark and heat set clear embossing powder over the stencil. The background seemed too white so I lightly sponged with london fog ink. My image is a DRS Designs rubber stamp “Birthday Candle Burst” and layered die cut sentiments are Tim Holtz Sizzix Celebration Words dies. This card is intended for an old friend who’s family is throwing a surprise 80th birthday party.

EK Success border punch

The Mod Squad Challenge is to create your own patterned paper. I used stamps from three companies: Leave Me in Paradise from Catherine Pooler Designs, Made With Love from Gina K Designs, and the February 2019 Kit Club Set from The Stamps of Life. I used a variety of inks in creating my tropical pattern: from Lawn Fawn I used Celery Stick, Freshly Cut Grass, and Jalepeno, Lucky Clover, Key Lime, and Coral Reef from Gina K Designs, and Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral from Stampin’Up. The cardstock is Old Olive and Calypso Coral from Stampin’Up, and White from Spectrum Noir.

The Double D Challenge is to use a punch. I have many punch and none are labeled with the correct name, so I can’t give the exact name of the punch used. I chose a scalloped border punch from EK Success for this card.

I love creating my own patterns, so the Mod Squad Challenge is perfect for me. I also love using my punches. I think I like border punches better than dies and I have both. I like the control of the punch. Thanks for looking!

Birthday CASE Cards

I have several birthday cards to send during January, so I have been seeking inspiration and using new-to-me stamps. Pinterest is my friend in seeking inspiration lately.

The two cards above are basically the same. I used retired sets for all of the stamping. The large flowers are from Flower Shop, the birthday sentiment from Bring on the Cake, and the small flower is from Bloomin Love. I used the same colors for both cards: Rococoa Rose, Seaside Spray, and GKD Kraft. The cardstock is GKD Kraft, SU Rococoa Rose or Seaside Spray, and Spectrum Noir White. I added a bit of sparkle and bling to several flowers. I found this idea on Pinterest along with the color mix.

Today I created a card based on the Featured Stampers work on Split Coast Stampers. Back to retired stamp sets for my card.

I used Stippled Blossom by SU for the flower and leaves. The sentiment is from PTI Delightful Dalia. I added score lines to the top of the card to provide a bit of interest for the Clean and Simple card. I also had a lot of sparkle on the flower.

Going to try to post a card, been so long not sure I remember.

Used white GK card stock and technique shown by Karen and Cat called ink dragging. Card stock is Stone, ink Slate and sentiment from Grand Greetings. Very simple.

The paper is from Echo Park, Celebrate Christmas pack. The greeting is from The Stamps of Life, elves2stamp. I used Sizzix Scalloped circle dies and SU Stitched Shapes dies for cutting the greeting. The ribbon is from our stash.

This was exactly what I needed today, so I was excited to see her video with such a simple holder.
