I created this card with the Mod Squad challenge and the My Favorite Things sketch, and added a bit of blue for the Misti challenge. All of these challenges were posted from Split Coast Stampers, but I wanted to share this card here.
This card follows the same general layout and flow as the bird one. I have no one special in mind for this card, but it will be easy to mail when the time to use it comes. Thanks for looking.
The January challenge at Gina K Designs “Let’s Reflect” and to re-do a card from the previous year. Since I’m in Valentine’s day mode, I needed to go back 2 years by re-doing this card using GKD’s Better with You Stamp set.
My current card uses the kitties and same sentiment from the Better With You stamp set and the hearts in my night sky are GKD’s Spoon Me set. The sky was created with Distress Inks in Broken China, Wilted Violet, Black Soot, a little water and Hero Arts white iridescent shimmer spray. A2 layers dies from Waffle Flower were used for my panels.
This is the first time I have created with a MFT Sketch during the challenge time. I love their sketches and have used them previously.
I flipped the sketch from portrait to landscape. My bird is from Stampin Up Flying Home. The sentiment is from The Stamps of Life club member freebie. I needed a small sentiment for the bird and this little set had the perfect size of sentiment. The bird is a red rubber stamp with the bird and the tree limb all one stamp. I colored it with markers. I used Midnight Muse for the bird, Chocolate Chip for the branch, and two green colors for the leaves. I used the Seaside Embossing Folder on a piece of Naturals White cardstock embossing it in the direction to match the limb.
I own a few MFT stamps, but none seemed to be what I was looking for. This will be posted to Mod Squad Challenge and the MISTI challenge at Split Coast Stampers.
I had the lovely ink pads and markers out along with a new Inspiring Iris set, so I continued to stamp in those lovely colors.
I am enjoying stamping with the foam pads that SU has. All thee colors were stamped using acrylic blocks and the foam pads. I stamped full strength for a couple of flowers, then stamped off, giving them a lighter shade of the same color. I used sheer organza ribbon from Ribbon Boutique, which I am sure came from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment came from the December Paper Pumpkin kit, Something for Everything. I have been stamping most of today and I think this is my favorite card. I am loving this set, Inspiring Iris.
Stamping in some fun colors and using a favorite stamp.
One of my favorite stamps is the tulip from SU Blessed Easter. When I got that stamp, I cut the greeting, “Blessed Easter” away from the tulip. It is a wood mounted stamp and I have kept it on the wood, using my stamp positioner when needed. I watercolored the tulip using the colors for the CAS challenge. Other items used are Gina K/Thermoweb stitched oval dies. The “thinking of you” sentiment is from The Stamps of Life: formalwords2stamp. I have used this set many times as it has several greetings and many are large.
The ModSquadChallenge for this week is to use animals on your project so I reached deep into my stash of older stamps and found this all too cute Sheriff Bear red rubber stamp. Not sure what company made him as he was a cling and no name so if anyone can identify him I would appreciate it. The sentiment was computer generated, the stars are from die cut Spellbinders and the patterned paper is an All About Boys DCWV stack that I’ve also had for years.

The paper is Lawn Fawn, Gotta Have Gingham (retired). I added the black layer when it the frame looked odd on the blue background. The black made a difference. The card base is My Favorite Things card stock. I have a set of many colors and just flip through till I have a match.

My card today was going to be entered into the Just Us Girls Challenge #519 color week’s colors of Purple, Pink and Red however not sure if it’s our site or theirs but I cannot upload to their challenge. But all is not lost since the As You See It Challenge Challenge #217 “Love is in the Air” should work for this card. Fingers Crossed that it works. Anyway here are the details of my card: my striped background on the fun fold was made using Pretty Pink Posh’s striped stencil in distress inks on a light pink cardstock. The inside was stenciled in light pink with Pretty Pink Posh’s layered hearts stencil. The center die is Birch Press Designs Floating Hearts Die which I cut in the wild lilac and then again in hot pink, glittery purple and shiny red papers, the arrow is Penny Black’s sweet heart die set and the sentiment is from GKD’s Better With You stamp set. Just under the deadline with this card for the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters to include the prominent sentiment of “Thinking of You”. It was a snowy day at our home on Saturday so I was able to create some backgrounds using the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Hearts Stencil A&B. This stenciled background was created with mulled lavender Distress Oxide ink and the second stencil GKD’s Glitz Glitter Get in wild lilac. Sponged some wild lilac ink on the Spellbinders large classic ovals die mounted it with some foam tape and then double cut cupid’s arrow from Penny Black’s sweet heart dies set. The sentiment was an older wood mounted stamp with no company name on it. Maybe from the dollar section at a big box store.
