Silver & Gold

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #14

Using the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge mood board of silver and gold with wreaths and ornaments, I decided to pull out an older mounted red rubber stamp set from Great Impressions. After stamping it in versamark ink I took a pinch of silver and gold embossing powder and heat set my wreath then die cut it using Spellbinders Classic scalloped circle dies. The deer is a Martha Stewart flocked deer sticker, the bow is Poppy Grosgrain Bow die and the patterned paper was from my stash called Holiday Glitz.

My first wreath I die cut using a circle die and also cut the center portion out. You can probably imagine where that was going….yup…it looked just like a donut!!! Not that I don’t love a good donut however not when it’s supposed to be a Christmas wreath hanging on my gatefold card. LOL. The scalloped die worked much better.

Just Add Ink #600

The challenge with the Just Add Ink blog is an inspiration photo depicting the southern hemisphere who are enjoying the cooler temperatures and the season of Autumn. So for my card I opted on the wonderful warm fall colors highlighting some Gina K Designs Sweet Mango cardstock. I embossed the top portion of Sweet Mango with SimonSaysStamp’s Kaleidoscope embossing folder. My bottom portion was stamped and inked using SSS’s wood planks background stamp and inking it in some brown ink. The card base is a navy blue and I alternated the SSS Chunky Happy die between the sweet mango and navy cardstock. Sentiment is GKD’s Stamp It Big stamp set and leaves are Sizzix’s Sizzlits Little Leaves die.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Pastel Blends

Can You Handle The Pressure

Make the Cards Challenge #53

Today’s card will be entered into the Can You Handle The Pressure challenge of Anything Goes Embossing with a pastel twist (must use an embossing folder) and the Make the Cards Challenge #53 technique challenge of an ink blended backround.

I first ink blended my background using SimonSaysStamp’s Cotton Candy and Gina K Designs Peach Bellini, Lemon Drop and Applement inks to create a pastel background. I then used SSS Circle Rings 3D embossing folder and ran it through my BigShot after which I used some sand paper to lightly sand off the raised areas to add interest to the background. My image is from C C Designs Grouchy Pets stamp set and sentiment was from SSS preprinted Birthday sentiments. Using Spellbinders Deckled rectangles dies completed my look today.

OMG! I am loving these grouchy pets!

One in a Melon

The Sisterhood of Crafters

The challenge with the Sisterhood of Crafters is a slimline card. In my case I opted for the mini-slimline card which I like much better than the largerer ones. I always feel like I should put some cash in the larger style slimline. LOL.

For today’s card I decided on Taylored Expressions stamps and Wonky Dots stencil. Cute summertime card that I’ll save for one of my sweet grandkids.

Hurt Feelings

Time again for a chuckle of the month for dear old sister. Sentiment “I always laugh when people try to hurt my feelings…as if I have any”. was found online, and image is online clip art.  Ef used is from SU but unfortunately, I don’t remember the name. Before embossing the background layer, I cut the circle using Spellbinders Classic Circle die. Sentiment tags were cut on my SU trimmer, I hand cut the ends and popped the strips up.

Thanks for stopping by. have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Goth Birthday

Glad you stopped by.

Today’s card is for a very good friend. She started out as our favorite server and now she’s like family. She’s into all things Goth and Halloween. Therefore, a Goth birthday card. Background paper was embossed with a Happy Birthday ef and I distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distresser. Frame is from the Silhouette, images are online clip art. The corner cupcakes are popped up. Here is a close up of the cupcakes.

Performance Upgrade

Glad you stopped by. Today’s card is for our s-i-l who is having his second hip replacement. To get ideas for a hip replacement card I went to Pinterest and found one with this sentiment. Color combination came about when I saw the color challenge at JUGS. It doesn’t show in the photo, but I scored all 4 sides of the black layer and corners on the white layer.
