Pug AND A mug

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for my niece who loves her pug and likes having some beer. During the night this sentiment popped into my head then I knew what kind of card to make. It is all computer generated which makes this a very short post and feels like I cheated. Whatever would I do without Google??

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

halloween window

Hello and welcome. Hope this week is starting out to be a good one for you.

Today’s card will be entered in two challenges, Two Old Bats anything Halloween and JUG”S color week orange, green & brown. Mat layer was run through a Tim Holts Bricked ef, window is Small Madison Window die from Memory Box. Window frame is popped up. Top border is Running Goo border punch from MS. Pumpkins are from an online coloring page colored with Copic’s, fussy cut and popped up. Spider web is a piece of a die cut web in my Halloween stash. Green background for the window is just a scrap piece of cs. I see now that I should have colored the pumpkin eyes a much lighter green. Oh well, you know what they say about hindsight.

Bummer, I wasn’t able to enter Two Old Bat’s because there were already 3 entries from this site.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

happy anniversary

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for one of our granddaughter’s anniversary. Again, I went to Google and found out wood is traditional for 5th anniversaries. I don’t think gray is a popular color for anniversary cards but to include wood I was kind of limited. For the light gray layer, I scored diagonal lines every 1/2″. I have the diagonal piece to go on top of the Stampin Up score board. For the dark gray piece I scored straight lines every 1/4″. Woodgrain pp was found online and punched with a hand punch and popped up. SU’s Word Window and Modern Label punches were used for the sentiment. After punching “happy” I put it back in the punch and punched again to make it shorter. I did the same thing with the Modern Label punch.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

One Layer Sympathy

I usually have a few sympathy cards in my stash, but often not a one layer one. I like having several so when I need them, I don’t have to rush and make one.

https://aaacards.blogspot.com/2022/09/game-223-no-layers-sympathy-card.html

I was inspired by buddies Gayle and Johanna to create a one layer sympathy card. I used the Simon Says Stamp Vintage Garden set to produce this card. I embossed everything in clear powder over black ink, but wanted a bit of color. Out came Stampin’ Up markers to add a bit of color using Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight.

Thanks for the nudge to create this card.

Arched Dome Sympathy

AAA Card Challenge – Game #223

Game #223 at the Clean and Simple AAA Cards challenge is: One Layer + Sympathy. Clean and simple is usually challenging for me and then a one layer card steps this challenge up a few levels. So for my card, I used SimonSaysStamp’s Arched Domed Mask Stencil, ink blending Seafoam, Surf and Ocean inks, then using a light gray ink inked and stamped Friendship text background over the stencil. Finally I stamped my image a swirly dragonfly red rubber stamp that I believe I picked up at a stamp show oh those many years ago from one of the companies at the show. The simple sentiment is Gina K Designs Garden Silhouette. Hopefully this fits the CAS portion of the challenge and is definitely a one layer card. I was inspired by our buddy Johanna’s card to use a dragonfly stamp.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Snow Cascade

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #23

Another fun mood board to use as inspiration with Challenge #23 Anything Christmas and the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge blog. I searched and searched but could not come up with a Christmas mouse which was my first choice on the mood board so opted for the red and white snowflake pillow for my inspiration.

My card today uses a past STAMPtember collaboration set with SimonSaysStamp and Gina K Designs Snowflake Cascade. This took forever to line up the elements and I definitely can say that white embossing powder is not my friend but I finally completed this card. After stamping and white heat embossing the image, I sponged some Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink onto the edges of the GKD Red Velvet cardstock then die cut using Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles dies.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Halloween Window

I am in the process of creating Halloween cards for an Assisted Living Center. This card started a few months ago, then I put it away and today I took it out and finished it. I think it is a calm and nice card for someone who would enjoy a calmer Halloween.

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/09/september-anything-halloween.html

The window is from a Stampin Up set called Happy Scenes. I colored the image with alcohol markers and added a bit of blending with brushes. I can’t remember which inks I used to blend the background, but it was either Gina K Designs or Lawn Fawn inks. The greeting was stamped with Gina K Designs ink, but can’t remember which orange color it is. The wall is patterned paper from Gina K Designs, Grateful Heart pack. I think it looks like a Dining Room. I used GKD cardstock for the base and I think it might be Prickly Pear.

This is a calm card for someone who doesn’t like cards with monsters, ghosts, or scary scenes. I enjoyed creating in and was thrilled to finally finish it.

PINK SEWING MACHINE

https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/09/just-us-girls-challenge-649-trend-week.html

Hello and welcome. This week is starting out with some very comfortable temps.

Today’s card is for our granddaughter. She has her own business where she makes corn wraps of different sizes. They feel so good either warm or as an ice pack. Since she sews so much, I decided to make a sewing card for her. PP and sewing machine were found online. For the sewing machine I Googled sewing machine clip art. Machine is fussy cut and popped up. Sentiment was printed on the computer and punched with SU’s word window and modern label punches and popped up. I edged all edges with a light gray marker to give a little definition. With that pp this should fit for the JUG’s repetition challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
