Arched Dome Sympathy

AAA Card Challenge – Game #223

Game #223 at the Clean and Simple AAA Cards challenge is: One Layer + Sympathy. Clean and simple is usually challenging for me and then a one layer card steps this challenge up a few levels. So for my card, I used SimonSaysStamp’s Arched Domed Mask Stencil, ink blending Seafoam, Surf and Ocean inks, then using a light gray ink inked and stamped Friendship text background over the stencil. Finally I stamped my image a swirly dragonfly red rubber stamp that I believe I picked up at a stamp show oh those many years ago from one of the companies at the show. The simple sentiment is Gina K Designs Garden Silhouette. Hopefully this fits the CAS portion of the challenge and is definitely a one layer card. I was inspired by our buddy Johanna’s card to use a dragonfly stamp.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Snow Cascade

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #23

Another fun mood board to use as inspiration with Challenge #23 Anything Christmas and the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge blog. I searched and searched but could not come up with a Christmas mouse which was my first choice on the mood board so opted for the red and white snowflake pillow for my inspiration.

My card today uses a past STAMPtember collaboration set with SimonSaysStamp and Gina K Designs Snowflake Cascade. This took forever to line up the elements and I definitely can say that white embossing powder is not my friend but I finally completed this card. After stamping and white heat embossing the image, I sponged some Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink onto the edges of the GKD Red Velvet cardstock then die cut using Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles dies.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Halloween Window

I am in the process of creating Halloween cards for an Assisted Living Center. This card started a few months ago, then I put it away and today I took it out and finished it. I think it is a calm and nice card for someone who would enjoy a calmer Halloween.

The window is from a Stampin Up set called Happy Scenes. I colored the image with alcohol markers and added a bit of blending with brushes. I can’t remember which inks I used to blend the background, but it was either Gina K Designs or Lawn Fawn inks. The greeting was stamped with Gina K Designs ink, but can’t remember which orange color it is. The wall is patterned paper from Gina K Designs, Grateful Heart pack. I think it looks like a Dining Room. I used GKD cardstock for the base and I think it might be Prickly Pear.

This is a calm card for someone who doesn’t like cards with monsters, ghosts, or scary scenes. I enjoyed creating in and was thrilled to finally finish it.

PINK SEWING MACHINE

https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/09/just-us-girls-challenge-649-trend-week.html

Hello and welcome. This week is starting out with some very comfortable temps.

Today’s card is for our granddaughter. She has her own business where she makes corn wraps of different sizes. They feel so good either warm or as an ice pack. Since she sews so much, I decided to make a sewing card for her. PP and sewing machine were found online. For the sewing machine I Googled sewing machine clip art. Machine is fussy cut and popped up. Sentiment was printed on the computer and punched with SU’s word window and modern label punches and popped up. I edged all edges with a light gray marker to give a little definition. With that pp this should fit for the JUG’s repetition challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Moo, Picking!

Double D Challenges

Can You Handle The Pressure

It’s a Baa~Cluck~Moo~Neigh~Oink~Quack Challenge with the Double D Challenges blog and an embossing folder anything fall challenge with the Can You Handle The Pressure group. Perfect timing as the local farms are getting ready for pumpkin picking, hay rides, apple cider, and farm animals. My card, I think, has a little bit of all of these elements today.

My farm scene with “Moo” cow was made using Gina K Designs Funny Farm stamp set. I die cut come grass for “Moo” to nibble on using The Cat’s Pajamas grass die and the pumpkins from the pumpkin patch are also a Gina K Designs stamp set Haunts & Harvest. For the embossed element, I used a Darice Nature 3 embossing folder as I’m sure there is a pond on most farms with cattails growing.

Fun challenges and card for one of the grandkids to enjoy. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Hello and welcome. It felt so good here this morning, we actually turned off the ac and opened doors & windows for a few hours. AHH, fresh air.

Today’s card will be entered in Two Old Bats Halloween challenge. I chose not to follow the mood board this time. On the orange background paper, I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to spook it up a bit. For me it’s easier to use a cotton ball than a sponge dauber or blending tool. Spider web die is My Favorite Things Die-namics, large spider is a Sizzix Thinlits die, small spiders are a Provo Craft die (both dies are quite old). Eyes are yellow Stickles and spiders are popped up.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Dreams

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is dear old sister’s chuckle for this month. I don’t think it’s quite up to my usual snark, but it will do. Inside says Keep Sleeping. For the pp I Googled sleepy backgrounds. I rounded the corners for a little interest. This was so quick and easy I feel like I cheated. Next month I’ll be up to my usual snark.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Sunflowers

Hello and welcome. After several frustrating days I’ve got my new computer figured out (sort of).

Today’s card came about after I watched a You Tube video. In the video she made daisies, but I thought sunflowers are better for fall. Flowers are from an old Paper Shapers punch that I used a cotton ball and stamp pad to add a little darker color to the cs. Centers are a circle punch that I used a Sharpie to add black dots. Stems and leaves were fussy cut. Twine was added for a little interest.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
