Blue Bird

I saw the current Can You Handle the Pressure challenge and knew I had to create a card.

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2022/06/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html

I love watching birds and coloring birds. I used the SU Friendly Hello set for the focal image. The embossing folder is also SU, possibly called Layered Leaves. I colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers. The oval dies are a combination of SU and Gina K Designs. I chose not to add a greeting to the front. I will place something inside when I am ready to send the card.

Daffodil Thanks

So thrilled that the Power Poppy blog is back and sharing ideas and inspiration. The current challenge is April Flowers Bring May Flowers, so I had to color an image.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2022/05/the-blossom-challenge-bring-those-may.html

I used the new Sketches of Spring Vol. 1 digital image. These daffodils are so pretty and fun to color with the sketch lines drawn by Marcella Hawley. When I color this again, I plan to change the buds color and the large flower behind the daffodils. This time all of the flowers are colored in yellow and orange tones. I used a variety of alcohol markers on this image. I enjoyed taking the time to color.

This card will be used for my monthly Crafter’s of Faith challenge card at SplitcoastStampers. This month the verse is 1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. The challenge is to make a card giving glory to God. I believe all nature gives glory to God, so this image is perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 10 Mini-Slimline

Rainbow Leaf Mini-Slimline with Gina K
.https://shoppingourstash.blogspot.com/2022/05/sos471-make-mine-tall-one.html

When I cut my other leaves for my wreath, I cut longer leaves for this card. The paper is the same. The leaf is from a set that someone gave to me. It makes a 5 X 7 gift box and card and it contains many other dies like this leaf. The leaf had no texture, so I embossed the leaves with the Swiss Dots folder. Many of the leaves hung off the edge so I trimmed them.

I am adding this card to the Shopping Our Stash challenge to Make a Tall Card. Since this is a mini-slimline, it fits. The paper is mostly Gina K Designs, My Favorite Things, and Hobby Lobby.

Day 10 Wreath

Day 10 is all about patterns and rainbows.

Die cut wreath with Gina K.

I think anyone who is a Gina K Designs follower will recognize the placement of any wreath made using the wreath builder. I followed her directions today and made the die cut wreath. The dies I used are SU dies that recently retired, so I picked them up for half the original price. This shows one of the leaf dies. I used the colors that Gina used making an 8 color rainbow. My greeting came from a Paper Smooches set. I enjoyed creating with Gina’s ideas.

Day 8 HOmework Poppies

Day 8 for Online Card Class is about flowers.

Day 8 with Dana Joy.

I created with lessons from Dana Joy. She showed how she watercolors flowers with layers. I own a die set from Lawn Fawn, so I die cut many pieces of watercolor paper with this set. I made several poppies. I used Stampin Up inks and refills for the coloring. Poppy Red was used for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I added a bit of Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus with the apple green for a bit of variation. I finished the flower centers with a bit of sparkly Nuvo drops. I chose the greeting from a Paper Smooches set.

I really enjoyed Day 8 lesson. I enjoyed coloring the large petals of this flower.

Day 7 Happy Birthday

I created a card with Day 7 where the focus is on stacked die cuts.

Day 7 with Victoria Calvin.

I chose to use punches for my stacked die cuts. I layered thin Hobby Lobby white paper. My punches are very old as they are the whale type punch from EK Success. I was thrilled to come up with a reason to actually use the punches. I decided to use the birthday greeting as well as the gift box. The patterned paper is Echo Park from a few years ago. I used a scrap with the gift box. The gift box is a Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard die. The greeting is from The Stamps of Life, so a lot of Stephanie is on this card.

I really struggled with week 1 of the class, so I was thrilled with Day 7. I knew I had supplies for the technique being taught.

Monochromatic Triple Time Stamping

Yes, that is a mouthful! I spent a little time stamping. It has been a while since I just stamped because I wanted to. I chose to create a monochromatic card using ink colors in the same color family.

https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2022/05/monochromatic.html

I used the ink colors Tranquil Teal, Tempting Turquoise, and Ocean Mist, all from Gina K Designs. These are basically a light, medium, and dark in the same color family. I used a set from Stampin Up called Delicate Dahlias for the floral portion of this card. There is an outline of the flower and a solid to fill it in. There is also a leaf in both outline and solid that matches this small flower image. The greeting came from a different Stampin Up set called Happy Thoughts. I decided to add a bit of bling and placed sequins on each flower center and a few near the greeting.

I need to remember to just sit down and stamp and create for the enjoyment rather than for a specific reason. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 5 Wreath

I spent today making wreaths, without the wreath builder.

Wreath Birthday

The above wreath is pretty, but didn’t really look like the presenter’s wreath. Laura Bassen is the teacher and she stamped all of her images with no coloring. The flower set is an Avery Elle set which worked well for making a wreath. I decided to finish the wreath and color the images. The greeting is from a Gina K Design set but it does not have a name. I do like the wreath and this is one I would create again.

Wreath Butterfly

The above wreath is more like the lesson taught. Again, the wreath builder was not used. I use butterflies from a My Favorite Things set. The greenery is from a Simon Says Stamp with Gina K illustrated. The greeting is from the same set. The filler dots are from a Gina K Designs set illustrated by Lisa Hetrick. I had so many sets pulled out looking for an image to include in the wreath, that I was getting a bit overwhelmed. I like the final wreath.

Day 2 Joseph’s Coat

Working on Online Card Class Day 2 technique.

Joseph’s Coat with Cathy Z

I used Lawn Fawn inks for the background with a Simon Says Stamp Stencil. The black in is Gina K Designs. All of the inks work well together as they are the same formula.

I am enjoying class. My time has been limited this week due to life. I will continue to watch and create as my time allows.
