Easter Tulips

I have a tulip card I made for Easter.

I used the SU set called Blessed Easter. This was purchased nearly 10 years ago. It came as a single wood block stamp with the greeting attached to the tulip. I separated the images making two separate stamps. I often use the tulips for birthday cards during the Spring. I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color the tulips. I chose Gina K Designs Artists Choice paper for the images. The argyle layer is Echo Park patterned paper. I used an SU embossing folder for the border.

Easter Cross Card

I have an Easter card that will be entered in the Can You Handle the Pressure? challenge.

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2023/03/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html

I used the set SU Hold onto Hope for this card. I used Gina K Edible Eggplant and Fresh Asparagus for ink and cardstock. The white paper is SU as well as the glimmer paper in the cross. I used the Garden Trellis embossing folder from SU.

I have been participating in Virtual Stamp Night with Splitcoast Stampers and this was added to the 7 Layer Challenge. The theme is On the Menu. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.

Spring Bloom

I have been coloring lately. This bloom set is new to me. I am entering this is the Triple B March Challenge. https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2023/03/march-challenge.html

Two other challenges have come to my attention which this card fits. Shopping our Stash: https://shoppingourstash.blogspot.com/2023/02/sos491-flowers-flowers-everywhere.html

Four Seasons: Spring Season March: https://thefourseasonschallenge.blogspot.com/2023/03/spring-season-march-2023-challenge.html

I used Honey Bee Spring Joy Bouquet stamp and die set. I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. The background paper is Stampin Up Blushing Bride and Basic White. The patterned paper is also SU Perfectly Artistic which was released in 2016. I looked it up to the get the name and the date was in the blog I found.

I used a tutorial by Lynn Dunn. I love her tutorials as they are so easy to follow and I am able to use whatever product I have on hand. https://stamptasticdesigns.com/2023/03/08/diagonal-design-cut-and-shuffle-technique/

Riley Balloons

For March, MarchtotheBeat challenge, I was sent Riley and Company Balloons with SU Designer Series Paper. I created two cards.

For this image, I stuck to all blues. The white paper is Thick Basic White by SU, which the person stamped in Memento Black ink. My alcohol markers bled a bit but not much I could do about it, so I finished the card. I used SU In the Navy for my cardbase and accent color.

For this card, I went searching for a close match to the DSP. Again, I used the Navy CS and added a color called Purely Pomegranate to actually read the Happy. The Happy is a SU die that I have used very little. The inside reads Happy Birthday.

I enjoy this swap challenge as I get to use images provided by someone else along with my stash. Sometimes the swap hostess has been providing patterned paper and that has been a treat to use. I do my best to match the DSP with markers and CS from my stash.

Both of these cards went out in the mail today in a package heading for a nursing home. I am thrilled to be able to send completed card on to actually be used. This way the person gets to shop through a box and select the card that they wish to send to someone in their life.

March to the Beat Jan and Feb

I am participating in a swap on Splitcoast Stampers called March to the Beat. Each month, I receive a stamped image to create a card with. I add my own papers, coloring tools, dies, or anything else needed to complete a card with the image provided.

The above images are from January. I was provided this elephant from Unity Stamp Company, the greeting and the DSP. (This is SU patterned paper which they call Designer Series Paper.) The greeting was stamped in Island Indigo ink. She did provide the name of the DSP, but I do not have it handy. To complete my card, I colored the elephant in colors that matched the DSP. I placed the greeting on the inside.

The French Fry image was provided along with the greeting. I colored the French fry image and fussy cut it out, popping it up on an action wobbler and added googly eyes. The dotted background is made with a stencil. The Happy Valentine’s Day and I heart You are from a Lawn Fawn set. I used Spellbinders dies for most of the circles and the dotted circle inside is a retired Stampin Up die. I may give this to my husband. He does enjoy puns.

Since this card uses a stencil, I am entering it in February Stencil Fun: https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2023/02/february-stencil-fun.html

Thanks for sharing in my cards.

Trio of Plants

I spent time coloring a CAS card with a Power Poppy stamp set.

I used the Potted Primroses stamp set. It is no longer available as a clear set but you can purchase images as a digital stamp. I used Gina K Designs Amalgum ink for my stamping. I have a mini pad and it took about 3 times in the Misti to get a solid black impression, so I am not sure I really like this ink. However, I didn’t know how I wanted to color the image, so I chose this ink. I decided to use my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The lavender paper is from Stampin Up and is retired. I added score lines to give it something extra.

This will entered in the Power Poppy Clean Slate Challenge: http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2023/01/the-blossom-challenge-clean-slate.html

Thanks for spending time with me today.

Rose Hello

I found a few challenges that I thought would be fun to create for.

For this card I used Paper Smooches Rosy Posy set. Paper Smooches has been closed for well over a year, but I have never inked this set and colored it. The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp You Shine. This set was part of a card kit, which I did not purchase. I did purchase the patterned paper used in the kit and recently the stamp set went on sale, so I took the plunge and purchased it. It worked well for the greeting.

One challenge is CAS Colours & Sketches: http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2023/01/challenge-501-colors.html

I used watercolor with the colors for this challenge. After the image was dry, I tried adding texture with the small end of the Cherry Cobbler marker. I liked the effect.

The second challenge is The Sisterhood of Crafters: Something New: https://thesisterhoodofcrafters.blogspot.com/2023/01/something-new.html

Since both images were never inked before, they are considered new to me.

The third challenge is Cardz 4 Galz: http://cardz4galz.blogspot.com/2023/01/190-cas-clean-and-simple.html

I left a lot of white space, so this is definitely a clean and simple card.

It was fun using these colors, finding items in my stash, and creating a card. I am not sure who will receive this card, but hopefully soon I will find the person to send it to.

Gingerbread Christmas

This card began on Splitcoast Stampers with the Challenge Your Stash December challenge. The hostess asked for gingerbread or another sweet on your card. I went with gingerbread.

This card will be added to the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge with the anything Christmas option.

I used November 2020 Paper Pumpkin stamp set for the house. I embossed with white pigment ink, then used a Bic marker to color the small spaces trying to keep it away from the white embossing. The stitched square and rectangle dies are from The Stamps of Life. The decorative square die used is from Spellbinders. The gingerbread man is from The Stamps of Life addition set that goes with a snow globe set. The greeting is also TSOL from a large gingerbread set.

I enjoyed creating this card. I used an idea I saw on Pinterest. It was nice to use my stash and create something totally different with the items.

Stripes, Dressing up an Animal, Feathers

Here are my samples for three more challenges.

My Jolly Snowman was really pushing the hour time limit. I used a background from Simon Says Stamp called Stripes. It took forever to dry as I inked it at least 3 times using my MISTI. I struggled getting the stripes stamped cleanly. The snowman is from Inkadinkadoo and I have had it for many years. It has stripes on the hat and scarf, so it was perfect for the stripes challenge. I layered it two times. The second oval is hiding a major mistake and didn’t want to start again. The paper color is Soft Succulent. I used the pen gifted me for Christmas for the gold (Thanks Bonnie!). The greeting is a Paper Smooches greeting. I did enjoy this card, even though it took time creating and a long time drying.

Since the penguin helped decorate flamingo, he had to have his place in the spotlight. I used the penguin from The Stamps of Life to get him festive for Winter. The background paper is Gina K Designs. I love this penguin and was thrilled to create with him.

My last challenge for today is Feathers. I used a walrus from Paper Smooches along with the hat and greeting. He gets his feather from Hero Arts already created sitting in my stash. I kept the tag simple with a bit of twine. Some day, this will probably go onto a card as I rarely give gifts these days.

Thanks for sharing in my card. There are three more challenges that I have not created for. I hope to take care of that soon.
