Rainbow Hello

The following card is full of sparkle, clouds, a rainbow, and is using older product.

I used two older stamp sets in this card: Gina K Designs Happy Mail (2017) and SU High Tide (2017). The clouds were cut with a Lawn Fawn die, Cloudy Hillside Pop-up. The rainbow was made with Spellbinders Large Circle dies. I added sparkle to the rainbow with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. This was created with the lesson from Online Card Class Spring Card Camp Day 11. This is one of my favorite lessons, as I had the supplies and could sit down and create. All of the paper used is Hobby Lobby heavy weight cardstock, except for the violet. I think the violet is The Stamps of Life cardstock.

Always enjoyable when a card comes together and fits to many challenges.

Faux Embossing Folder

I am taking Online Card Classes, Spring Camp 2020. Day One was all about creating a Faux Embossing Folder. Here are two card created with this technique.

Day 1 Hello
Day 1 Hugs

My faux embossing folder was created with the background stamp, Flourish, by My Favorite Things. I added Scripty Lawn Fawn die cuts to each card. This was a different way of creating an embossed image, but I will probably stick to my regular embossing folders as I have many to choose from.

Sending a Smile

Nothing like the last minute. This is for MFT Sketch Challenge.

https://mftstamps.com/blogs/news/wsc482

This card uses MFT Flowers in Bloom with dies, and the MFT Smile Maker. I watercolored the blooms with Lawn Fawn Wild Rose ink on Ranger WC Paper. The green stems are SU Granny Apple Green and the yellow centers, SU Pineapple Punch. I used GKD Black Onyx with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder for both the blooms and sentiment.

I enjoyed the sketch challenge. Just do not enjoy cutting it so close. Thanks for looking.

Bee, Candles, Balloons, Butterflies

I have been busy today creating cards for challenges and a featured stamper. All were posted at Split Coast Stampers. I wanted to share them with my buddies on this blog.

Butterfly Bookmark

This bookmark was created with the current Paper Smooches Animals challenge, as well as the Mod Squad Challenge. I used a Paper Smooches set called Flap Happy, colored with Copic markers. I enhanced the butterflies with a white gel pen. The scallop top was created with a retired SU punch.

Balloon Birthday
Birthday Candles

The above two cards were based on a card by the featured stamper at Split Coast Stampers, Sheri Gilson. I have admired her work for several years and have used her work for inspiration. Here is the card I used for inspiration: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2968448?&cat=500&ppuser=73093&perpage=96&thumbsonly=0

Lawn Fawn stamps were used. For both cards I used Simply Celebrate and Wavy Sayings. I made two as I had the supplies out and couldn’t decide which single stamp to use. The candle piece of patterned paper is from My Favorite Things. I used two pieces from the pack for color inspiration.

Just BeeCause

This last card was created with the inspiration of Ellen Hutson’s blog. There is a post by Gina K Design where she used the wreath builder and Ellen Hutson stamps. I got inspired to use other stamps and make a wreath. I chose a bee from Flap Happy, a Paper Smooches stamp. This was also posted to the current challenge of Animals at their blog.

I had a fun day of creating. We had rain when I woke up, then snow, now it is just cold. Crazy weather for March as it should be windy. I had to be inside and I was inspired. Thanks for reading the long post.

Springtime Basket

It’s 7 degrees this morning, so I’m really longing for Spring. Maybe posting a Springtime card will help. Inspired by Stamping Buddy Bonnie, I checked out the challenge at Just Add Ink and thought their sketch looked like it would be fun to do but wasn’t sure how I wanted to interpret it. While rearranging some things on my work table, I came across this focal piece that I did quite some time ago. The basket and flowers are from Springtime Baskets by Gina K Designs. The dies were Oval Stackers by Cheery Lynn.

The mat was colored with a Copic. The focal piece needed something behind it so I decided on Pattern Paper from Hello Sunshine by Gina K Designs. Then I thought if I could somehow use 2 different patterns, it would qualify for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge. I cut a scrap of green with the largest Fancy Wavy Banner from Lawn Fawn, then stamped the sentiment from Wavy sayings by Lawn Fawn

I stamped and fussy cut one of the daffodils from the same stamp used in the basket for the element on the sentiment banner.

What’s the Buzz

Love when a design will work for more than one challenge. I chose Paper Smooches stamps as I have not used them in a while and it was time to stamp with them once again. The CAS sketch worked perfectly for my idea.

I used Paper Smooches Courteous Cuties and Courteous Cuties 2 for my stamping. I colored the bee with Spectrum Noir CT1, 2, and 3 markers, and Copic CG1 and 0 for the wings. I added sparkle with a gel pen. I used GKD/Thermoweb stitched dies to cut out my rectangle. I used Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder to add a bit of texture to the background. My yellow patterned paper is Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood paper pack. I felt my rectangle image was a bit unbalanced, so I added gemstones from The Paper Studio. Thanks for looking.

Trio of Birthday Balloons

This card has been entered in the Mod Squad Challenge and the CAS Colors & Sketches challenge. I posted both from Split Coast Stampers and wanted to share it here.

Birthday Ballons Trio

The inks remained on my desk after finished the last birthday card posted to these challenges. I decided to ink blend the colors to see how they would blend. They did okay, but I had a blob and couldn’t get it to blend more, so I finally decided to emboss the panel and see how it looked. I couldn’t decide what to place on it, then remembered this Lawn Fawn balloon die set. I cut the balloons, then got busy arranging. I decided on a greeting, then colored it with markers in the challenge colors. I have enjoyed creating with these colors.

Birthday Balloons

I got excited with the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, so I had to go play with the color. Mod Squad is featuring balloons, so I was able to mix the two together.

I had fun with the colors. For So Saffron, I used a Tombow marker that is a close match, for Bermuda Bay and Petal Pink, I used SU markers in those colors. The cardbase is Gina K Designs Blue Lagoon, which matches Bermuda Bay. I used Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate and Simply Sentiments for the balloons and sentiment. Love this set and never use it enough. I enjoy Clean and Simple cards, so this was fun to create.
