Springtime Basket

It’s 7 degrees this morning, so I’m really longing for Spring. Maybe posting a Springtime card will help. Inspired by Stamping Buddy Bonnie, I checked out the challenge at Just Add Ink and thought their sketch looked like it would be fun to do but wasn’t sure how I wanted to interpret it. While rearranging some things on my work table, I came across this focal piece that I did quite some time ago. The basket and flowers are from Springtime Baskets by Gina K Designs. The dies were Oval Stackers by Cheery Lynn.

The mat was colored with a Copic. The focal piece needed something behind it so I decided on Pattern Paper from Hello Sunshine by Gina K Designs. Then I thought if I could somehow use 2 different patterns, it would qualify for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge. I cut a scrap of green with the largest Fancy Wavy Banner from Lawn Fawn, then stamped the sentiment from Wavy sayings by Lawn Fawn

I stamped and fussy cut one of the daffodils from the same stamp used in the basket for the element on the sentiment banner.

  1. Makes our 9° feel much warmer. Love that your creation fits 2 challenges but looks like the love and creativity it took to make it came only from your heart.

  2. I love your card! It is 1 degree at my house, but it is supposed to be 30 by this afternoon. My dog is not happy as I will not let her stay outside longer than necessary. Yes, dreaming of spring. Love the springtime feel of your card.

    1. Thanks Lisa. At least the sun is shining and there’s no hint of the awful white stuff. But I’m so ready for spring.

    1. Thanks Golda. I enjoy making cards just for the sake of making them, but it’s always fun when i can make them work for a challenge.

  3. A lovely card you’ve created, Judy. I hope you get your spring time weather soon. We’ve been sweltering (& burning) down here in Australia so I think we’re all looking forward to autumn this year. Thanks for joining the challenge over at Just Add Ink this week, & we look forward to seeing more of your creations soon. x

  4. I really like your curvy sentiment – it reminds me of a banner flying in the wind. Pretty sprint time colours and theme. Chantell Just Add Ink
