Pink Love

Colorful Options: February 2023

Today’s card was made with the Colorful Options February color: PINK. After watching Kelly Latevola Taylor’s 4 Cards with a Simple Stripe Stencil YouTube video, I decided to give one of her techniques a try. Using Pretty Pink Posh wide stripes stencil and the trio of Gina K’s carnation inks, my background was completed. The technique is to ink the stenciled background then move the stencil covering the inked lines and keep on going until the entire background is covered. It creates these pretty cool gradient lines for your background. The Love sentiment was die cut and stacked with multiple layers, a little stamp surgery was required after finding the “with’ word from a stamp set and added two pink hearts from a ephemera pack to complete my card today.

A fun, timely color and inspiring mood board with the Colorful Options challenge.

Scribble Heart

https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2023/02/hearts-challenge.html

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for one of our granddaughter’s and her boyfriend. Pp is from online, sentiment was printed in my Hallmark program, hearts banner is a Martha Stewart border punch, small hearts are from a hand punch then run through a bubbles ef, squiggly heart is Scribbles and Splatz die set from Tim Holtz. Hubby liked it so I guess it’s an ok card. This will be entered in Double D’s Heart challenge.

Sonic Valentine

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our 5 year old great-grandson. When my granddaughter told me he was really into Sonic I had to Google it. There were lots of images to choose from. Image and name label are popped up. Name labels are SU modern label and word punch. Ef used is Cuttlebug Hearts, small hearts are from a small hand punch. When I flipped the embossed panel over to add the adhesive, I thought the debossed side looked better so I used that side.

Thanks for stopping by your visits mean a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Abstract Border

Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge

The challenge with Can You Handle the Pressure is the required embossing folder plus a twist of borders. My embossed border is Cuttlebug’s Pop Culture folders. There are four different strip borders in this set but I decided on the circles folder. I paired the Pop Culture with Taylored Expressions Abstract Accents stencils & stamp combo adding a sentiment from TE’s Mod Sentiments stamp set. The strip sentiment from Buddy Bonnie was layered with black cardstock for a little dimension. Tim Holtz Distress Oxide carved pumpkin spray was used for splatter. Inks used are Gina K’s Moonlit Fog and Fresh Asparagus and Taylored Expressions Peaches n Cream and Dijon.

A little different for me but it suited me today for some reason!!! LOL!

Stencil used and cs are from Gina K, stamp used to color the stencil is Blueberry Bushel from SU., dies used are Spellbinders. All die cuts were sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Swirly die cuts are popped up by me cutting very tiny pieces of mounting tape.

Love Sweet Gnome

Cardz 4 Galz #191

It is a shaped card challenge at Cardz 4 Galz that my Valentine Gnomes will be joining. This is an adorable die set from Taylored Expressions called Gnome Sweet Gnome. There are 4 gnomes connected together that come with different hats and hair and other accessories. You can accordian fold the group of four gnomes and they stand alone. For my shaped card, however, after dicutting the basic shape I separated the gnomes keeping two together that could make two free standing cards. Once all of the die cutting is completed the gnomes go together pretty quickly. I think I may be making seasonal and different holiday gnomes!!

Wobbly Bear

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our 2 year old great-granddaughter. Pp is from the Silhouette, Bear image is online clip art fussy cut with a wobbler added. After downloading the bear I added the sentiment. I see the sentiment doesn’t look quite centered and straight since the bear is a little tilted but that’s how she’ll know GGG did make it. When I saw a scrap of pink glitter paper on my desk I thought hearts punched from that would make a nice border.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

White 3 Ways

AAA Cards Challenges #232

White on White Clean and Simple is the challenge with AAA Cards. I did white on white three ways on my card. The frame and the die cut are both shimmer white cardstock, the swiss dots embossed panel and card base are both white cardstock and the sentiment which you probably cannot see is white heat embossed below the focal point. Sentiment is Gina K Designs Scripty Sayings 2, my border is Tatlored Expressions A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate.

I decided on the shimmer white to add a little more dimension for my card project.

Valentine Girl

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our 4 year old great-granddaughter. Background paper is from SU, image is from an online coloring page colored with Copic’s. For a little sparkle I added Wink of Stella to the heart the girl is holding and to her shoes. Scalloped frame is Spellbinders, corner hearts are punched from red glitter paper. I think Stella will like this.

Thanks for stopping by I so appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
