Apricot and Aqua flowers

I saw the challenge at Just Us Girls on Saturday when they unveiled the color challenge. I do not own anything that reads Apricot ink, but found it does exist, so I used what I had.

I used the SU Fresh Flowers stamp and matching dies. I colored the leaves with Copic markers BG15 and BG13. For the flowers, I used SU Pale Papaya Stampin Blends, which are their alcohol markers. My first coloring smeared the black ink over the flowers, so I saved it by stamping again and popping up the flowers. I guess my ink was not dry before coloring, but the aqua did not smear, so I didn’t notice. I used vellum embossing with a Darice folder. The diamond edge was cut with a die from the Fresh Flowers die set. My cardbase is Sea Glass from Gina K Designs. I think I managed to find close enough apricot and aqua colors.

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed these colors and had fun creating.

Lil Grim

After being WOW’d by Whimsy Stamps Bookeh designer paper pad, I was hoping to make it the star of my card but for some reason I kept on adding other items and it may have gotten a little lost. LOL…any way it was really fun to make this card and even fussy cutting the Lil Grim Reaper image from a Recollections Halloween stamp set from a few years ago. The Drippy frame die is also from Whimsy stamps. Whimsy Stamps does Halloween really well. I opted to add a little white mound so my Lil Grim didn’t get lost in the background. The white card base was stenciled with SimonSaysStamp bat stencil which was pretty much covered up by the frame and just to grunge it a little more sponged on some black ink.

My card today will be shared with:

sunflower skeletons

Happy Labor Day.

For today’s I used black and calypso coral cs. Embossed layer was done with Sizzix 3-D Halloween ef. For the picture I Googled skeleton sunflower clip art. Sentiment was printed on the computer. I used my antique photo paper cutter for the picture and word strips, then used a cotton ball with black stamp pad to darken the word strips and popped them all up.

Sunflower Slimline

I have been slowly coloring this image for a few weeks. I was slow due to birthdays happening in my family, so this had to take a back seat for a while. I finally finished a card with the image and will share it today.

For this card I use a Simon Says Stamp called Sunflower Garden. This is a huge stamp. I think it is a 6 X 8 inch stamp. I cut my image down and kept the best pieces, placing them on a slimline sized card. The cardstock layers and cardbase are using paper from My Favorite Things. I have no idea what the color names are; I purchased an assortment a few years ago. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the image. I had around 5 markers out to color with, but didn’t write the names down.

August is winding down. Our weather has cooled down making it feel like fall. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my card. I will be posting this to the challenge blog from Splitcoast Stampers. We have reach the maximum number of posts per our blog.

Poppy Fields

I was a little stuck with how to incorporate an embossing folder and poppies until I saw a card design on the Fans of Taylored Expressions Facebook group. I wasn’t sure how I could give credit to the original card but I appreciate that design. A StampinUp/Sizzix embossing folder was used on shimmer white cardstock. My poppies are from Taylored Expressions Poppy Fields layering stencil which was free with a purchase. SimonSaysStamp’s word and shadow dies as well as a few little sparkly bling embellishments complete my card today.

I will be sharing my card with:

What’s Cooking

Today was the day to post my card for the Challenge Your Stash group at Split Coast Stampers. The theme is What’s Cooking? I have the perfect stamp set with the same name from Hero Arts, dated 2009. This card will also work for the Make My Monday Challenge of Hobbies.

I enjoy cooking and it can be a hobby. I read cookbooks and spend time thinking of how to create the dish and will it get eaten if I go to the work to create it. I used patterned paper from Gina K Designs with the pumpkins to paper piece the apron and add a mat to the greeting. The utensils were all fussy cut, colored with alcohol markers first. The background has images that were stamped with embossing ink. The cardstock used is Red Velvet from Gina K Designs.

Foxy Fall

From Unicorns to llamas to foxes, I can only wonder what will be my granddaughter’s next next favorite critter. I must admit that I fell down the Rabbit Hole Designs when I saw their Fall Foxes release and somehow it jumped right into my cart and went directly to check-out!! My larger leaves are Gina K Designs Thankful Leaves that are a combination stamps, dies and foil Foil-Mates. After adding a little bit of splatter to my circle background, arranging the leaves for the fox to play in and stamping, ink smooshing and die cutting the smaller leaves included in the Fall Foxes stamp set this card is complete.

I will be sharing my cute fox with:

with deepest sympathy

Hello and welcome. The need for a sympathy card came earlier this week when hubby’s sister passed away. Tomorrow we’ll be going to MN for her funeral on Mon. She had dementia and was in a nursing home. Her daughter said she’s in a better place now. It was very hard for her children when she didn’t know who they were.

Sentiment was printed on the computer, flourish and border strip are Flourish Thinlits by Stampin Up. Iridescent Pearls from Stampin Up were add for little special touch.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time.

Birthday musical animals

I have a fun card with animals and music notes. I am sure I saw this idea somewhere, but can’t give credit to the original creator since I do not remember where. Some things just stick in my head.

This card was created with Lawn Fawn Year Four. I stacked the hippos, using masking. The patterned paper is either Echo Park or MFT. The gray card base is Stampin Up. I had fun coloring and creating this card. It is birthday month in my household and this one has been like other years, I create several cards and hope one works well for one of my daughters. I think this one will go to a niece who is much younger than either of my daughters. Cardz 4 Galz wants cute animals and these hippos are sure cute. Seize the Birthday is looking for music. Since there are musical notes I will add it there. I can hear the hippos singing Happy Birdie to You!
