Trying to come up with a clean and simple card that uses a stencil and I can send for a dear friend’s birthday wasn’t as difficult as I thought. My clean and simple card uses Taylored Expressiongs Abstract Accents layering stencils and clear stamp set, TE Simple Silhouettes and GKD Stipples Flowers sentiment. The difficult part was trying to hide a tiny black smudge on my focal layer.
Orange and plaid are definitely signs of the changing seasons and fall should be right around the corner….well maybe not yet but soon.
For my card today, I made my plaid using Taylored Expressions Plaid layering stencil in Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon inks and added a black line with a marker. Simon Says Stamp Large Stitched Maple leaf die is my focal image and the sentiment is from a Gina K Designs Autumn Silhouettes stamp set. Sweet Mango cardstock from GKD was used to complete my Outrageous Orange card. And why make one when you can make two cards.
Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our grandson-in-law and will be entered into Double D Challenge. Card stock is Stampin Up’s Calypso Coral & Pumpkin Pie. Pp was found online. Circles are Die-namics Stitched circles. HB2U was printed on the computer and the small circle is popped up. It seems like I keep making very easy cards lately.
Hello and welcome. Another easy Halloween card that will go to our 3 year old great-granddaughter. Pp was found online, image is from an online coloring page colored with Copic’s. I added black Wink of Stella to Jack’s eyes, nose & mouth, gold Wink of Stella on the hat buckle. Pp and focal image paper were cut with my antique photo paper cutter and edged with Wisteria Wonder. This will be entered in the following challenges
I have been looking at challenges available in blogland and found the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. I like the colors they chose. I am also adding this to Less is More Challenge #491, Anything Goes.
I stamped the typewriter from Hero Arts My Type in Starry Sky. I stamped the words hello friend, from Hero Arts Butterfly & Flower Stamp and Cut set, in Coastal Cabana and GKD Lemon Drop. The circles came from another HA set called Just for You by Lia. The butterflies came from a set from Scrapbook dot com; it really does not have a name. I added the butterfly body and antennae with a Starry Sky marker. I added the Lemon Lolly layer for more color.
I haven’t used the typewriter set in a long time. It was fun to stamp it again. I was inspired by the designer, Jeanne, who used the SU set with the typewriter in the annual catalog. It looks like a fun set, but since I have this typewriter, I have not purchased it.
Time again for dear-old-sister’s chuckle of the month. Sentiment “maybe someday I’ll finally get what I deserve, but I hope not” is from a Garfield cartoon. Image and thought bubbles were found online. After printing the sentiment I fussy cut bubbles and image. Oval is Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, embossed border is Cuttlebug embossing borders. There are 5 different borders in the package. Normally I don’t emboss the card base nor the inside but I think it works well on this card.
Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
I am using items I have had in my stash for quite a while that have never seen ink or been used.
The stencil used is called Modern Holly by Taylored Expressions. I purchased a grab bag full of stencils a year ago and this is one that I hadn’t used. I chose to use gray as the base color as it is a neutral. The greeting Grateful for all you do is from a set by Gina K Designs, Fluttering Fall. It was a birthday gift last year and these pieces have never seen ink or been cut before. The butterfly is new from Your Next Stamp, which is closing, and was a inexpensive addition to the order placed recently.
The colors used to ink are Lawn Fawn inks: Manatee, Fake Tan, and Juice Box. The cardstock is from Gina K Designs.
It will also be entered in Crazy is our Fame – Stencils are our Game September Stencil challenge. These colors are Fall themed, so I am sticking to the theme of the challenge.
I enjoyed using these colors to create a card. I also was thrilled to finally use items that I hadn’t gotten to use. I know of a challenge that the butterfly would fit, but I have another butterfly card in mind, so I will wait. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my card.
Finally getting around to making backgrounds with my newest Create-In-Quads stencils “Bird Party” from Taylored Expressions. This is sweet little chickadee is my favorite part of the quad stencil and was sent to my sister in Florida. And the second card will is for my daughter and son-in-law for their wedding anniversary.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe. Our heat wave has broken this evening with some crazy winds that had us scrambling to move furniture off the patio followed by rain, thunder and lightning. It may be an unsettled few days and will definitely make the grass grow.
Someone forgot to inform Mother Nature that Labor Day is not the end of summer not even the unofficial end of summer! We are into another heat wave this week with 95 degrees temperatures. Since the leaves on the trees are still green, I decided to stencil my leaves in green on green cardstock. The stencil used was one I picked up awhile back at my local Michael’s. The stamped and die cut image is Autumn is Calling set from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I am anxious to ink the rest of these images in this set.
My card will be shared with:
Crazy is our Fame–Stencils are our Game! September Stencil Fun Challenge with the option of FALL theme. And of course I am playing with the option of fall and the required stencil.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool.
