christmas window

Hello and welcome. Today’s card was inspired by many window cards on Pinterest.

Patterned paper was found online. Window die is Memory Box Small Madison Window cut from a scrap on my desk. Tree was found on an online coloring page, colored with Copic’s and Spectrum Noir markers. Star has gold Stickles. Sentiment dies are Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments cut from white glitter paper. Since the tree was printed on white paper it looked too stark so I masked it and stippled the background with Distress Oxide gathered twigs.

Hello Sunshine

I love sunflowers. I own many sunflower stamps and some even have matching dies. Today I used Newton’s Nook Hello Sunshine stamp set.

These sunflowers are enjoyable to color. I used a few Spectrum Noir markers to color and then outlined the image with a Copic Warm Gray marker. I am on a quest to use more of my patterned paper and this one came from Gina K Designs. The card base is from The Stamps of Life.

The Double D Challenge has the perfect challenge for this card: https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2023/08/sunflowers.html

Our weather is totally August in MO right now. I will be inside with the humidity coming in at 94% right now. More time to create sunflower designs, however, first is a birthday card to complete. DD1’s birthday is quickly approaching and I do not want it to be last minute, like DD2’s was.

sunflower trio

Hello and welcome. For today’s card I found some soft woodgrain background paper online and printed it off on cs, sunflowers are from an online coloring page colored with Copic’s and fussy cut. Sentiment was created in my Hallmark card program.

Here’s a photo of the card I found on Pinterest that I wanted to CASE.

Busy Sunflowers Re-Do

Re-do and reworked my card busy sunflower tag card from yesterday. I think I had nightmares about that one but I deconstructed my original card. I was able to take off my tag with no issue then mounted it to a white cardbase, added a little gold bling and a aqua blue butterfly and a second green sprig! The background sunflowers which was my base for the original was a do over on the other side of the cardstock. I didn’t like the splatter or is it spatter on the card and stamped it this time in kraft ink, popped up a separate colored sunflower, a vellum strip and bolder sentiment with a tiny sentiment strip.

I think I do like the sunflower field better than the tag….I may just not be a tag on card girl.

You were all very kind and supportive on your comments on the previous “flop” and I appreciate all of you. All constructive critiques are always welcome. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate all of you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool.

Sunflower, Tag & more

Sunflowers are plentiful and have been a big business the past few years with several closeby farms planting fields of these beautiful flowers. With that theme in mind, my card is my attempted CASE of Amy R’s recent card but I think my card is a whole lot busier. WOW…it’s really busy for me!! I started with a trio of sunflowers from a Simon Says Stamp Sunflower Field stamp and die set that I snagged on clearance awhile ago. I flicked some yellows and greens on my image, die cut a Sizzix Tags #3 die, added some Taylored Expressions Flower Market stamp set and dies for follage, sentiment from the SSS Sunflower Field stamp set and some ribbons from my stash. There is a huge sunflower stamp in that SSS set so I inked it in Gina K’s honey mustard ink and stamped on my card base. I even added some black splatter to my card base as well as punching out three Martha Stewart butterflies. Whew….this is one busy card!!

I will be sharing my card today with:

Simply Vintage

The last Gina K Designs card kit from July 2023 included a stamp and die set featuring vintage summer stamps. After inking a stenciled background with kraft and using Taylored Expressions Pretty Petals stencil and TE Oval stencil mask, the butterfly was stamped directly onto my background in brown ink. The sentiment from the same card kit was stamped and die cut.

It’s a Plane….

My fun loving older brother who still enjoys the delights of being a kid is finding a lot of that joy in flying his gas powered planes. I thought this would be a fun card for him as he will always be a kid at heart. My stamp set is a TPC Studios Transportation clear set stamped three times in different colors. The banners are a SU banners framelits die set and Spellbinder’s Celebrations cloud die on a slim line card. A little embelishments, tails, stars and some splatter complete my card today.

My card will be shared with a new to me challenge:

Birthday Stripes

After cutting some strips of cardstock in 4 different shades Ocean cardstock pack from my Michael’s, I embossed a panel with a Sizzix embossing folder featuring birthday party hats. After lightly inking them with a blending brush, die cut the Happy from Gina K Designs Birthday Trio Die twice offsetting the letters from the colored cardstock for a little dimension and finally adding the birthday strip sentiment. I need to stocking up on some birthday cards so this was a good start for me.

My card today will be shared with:
