It’s a Plane….

My fun loving older brother who still enjoys the delights of being a kid is finding a lot of that joy in flying his gas powered planes. I thought this would be a fun card for him as he will always be a kid at heart. My stamp set is a TPC Studios Transportation clear set stamped three times in different colors. The banners are a SU banners framelits die set and Spellbinder’s Celebrations cloud die on a slim line card. A little embelishments, tails, stars and some splatter complete my card today.

My card will be shared with a new to me challenge:

Sentiment was printed on the computer, fussy cut then edged with Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. Center gem in the heart is Stampin Up’s Opal Rounds. All top layers are popped up.

Birthday Stripes

After cutting some strips of cardstock in 4 different shades Ocean cardstock pack from my Michael’s, I embossed a panel with a Sizzix embossing folder featuring birthday party hats. After lightly inking them with a blending brush, die cut the Happy from Gina K Designs Birthday Trio Die twice offsetting the letters from the colored cardstock for a little dimension and finally adding the birthday strip sentiment. I need to stocking up on some birthday cards so this was a good start for me.

Summertime Memories

As I was deciding on a card for a summer challenge, I found the not yet put away adirondack chair and umbrella dies from Gina K Designs still on my desk and figured it was time to use them. I located an old photo from my two children playing in the sand and surf at the Jersey Shore. That photo became my background. After prepping that photo on a piece of cardstock, I added a clear presentation cover page to my focal page after adding the striped and solid strips. A top folding card base was also added to complete my card with the addition of a sun die cut and a GKD sentiment and shell border. I will be eventually be sending this to one of kids to see how observant they are.

Birthday Butterfly Blooms

I am much more comfortable using stencils for my coloring but what the heck let’s give coloring a whirl. Using the freebie coloring sheets from Altenew, I decided on this print and started coloring (not shading) but coloring with markers, and pencils and then sparkly wink of stella. Since I was coloring I decided to color the entire background with a black marker. Added a punched butterfly and gold embossed greeting. I do wish my greeting was more yellow than gold but ???? it was on and there was no turning back. Check out the Altenew website for their free coloring sheets 2 floral images per pdf and 4 different freebies.

My card today will be entered into the

Triple B: August Challenge Anything goes as long as you use either a butterfly, bird or blooms or any combination of them. I was inspired by the color on their mood board.

Floral Stencil Hello

I make a lot of cards that say Hello as they can be used for anything. I also make a lot of Thinking of You cards for the same reason; they can be adapted to be used for many occasions. Today, I combined the two greetings into one floral card.

I used the layering stencil from Gina K Designs called A Little Hello Layering Stencil Bundle. My Thinking of You greeting strip came from My Favorite Things Itty Bitty Basics with strip die to cut it out.

I used Lawn Fawn inks to blend the layers. I used Lemonade for the flower base layer, then added Peach Fuzz for the strips. The circle center is Fake Tan (orange color). The greens used are Celery Stalk and Freshly Cut Grass. After the ink blending was finished and dry, I came back with Simon Hurley Solar Paste. It adds a shimmer of sparkle when it is flashed in the light; it does not photograph well to see the shine.

happy birthday

Hello and welcome. When I saw this design on Pinterest I just knew I had to try it. I think it’s the colors that really caught my eye. Strips are 1/2″ and adhered to a piece of white cs, 3 3/4″ X 5″ then mounted on white cs 4″ x 5 1/4″. Sentiment circle was found online a long time ago. Die cut circles are Spellbinders scalloped and classic circles large.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe. Thoughts and prayers for Hawaii.

Retro Tropics

Christmas in the tropics! The challenge at Peace on Earth Christmas challenge has a very tropical mood board. Although I do have a few fun Santa in the tropics stamps, I decided to work off of the tropical colors for my inspiration and a beachy background scene. My retro ornaments and stamps are from Taylored Expressions. Beautiful Baubles is a layering stencil with coordinating dies and add on clear stamps. My background patterned paper is Paper House’s World Beaches paper pad.

I guess the fires in Maui are on my mind especially since my daughter and family are trying to get home from the islands.

Chick’N In!!

Super fun Taylored Expressions’ Spring Chickens clear stamp & stencil set as well as their Happy Hens stamp and die set were used for my card today. Die cut the center and popped it up for some dimension. Backed my chicken friends and sentiment with vellum.

Double D Challenges: Collaboration with Altenew/Anything Goes Challenge I need to check my stash again but pretty sure I do not own anything Altenew but I do have stencils to play along with that option of this challenge.
