GREEN AND CREAM BIRTHDAY

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for my dear sister-in-law. This layout was found on Pinterest. The one I really liked was an A6 size but I decided to make it a 5 x 7. Patterned paper and base cardstock are from Stampin Up, cream layer was in my stash. Sentiment diamond is Stitched Squares by Die-namics, sentiment was printed on the computer with clip art candles added. My first thought, while putting it together, was yuk. However, once it was done, I liked it, and best of all, hubby liked it too.

Card base is 10 x 7 folded at 5, background paper is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4, pp is 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 cut corner to corner both directions.

I’m entering this at Cardz 4 Galz is green & cream challenge.

Sending Love

This card was mailed today going to a lady who lost her husband a few month’s ago to cancer. She is in need of encouragement.

The challenges were from Splitcoast Stampers. Each Tuesday a person is highlighted who needs a card. This week’s card is going to Mary Jo who recently lost her husband. The other challenge is the color challenge. I blended the colors of Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist (I substituted Key Lime from Gina K Designs), and Daffodil Delight on the card front. Then I stamped flowers from Simon Says Stamp Vintage Garden. The greeting came from the Sending Love set from Gina K Designs.

For the inside of the card I used the same colors and greeting from Gina K Designs Nurturing Blooms. I wrote over the top of the inked blooms.

I am thankful that I do not create too many of these cards. Thanks for stopping by.

garbage truck glass

Hello and welcome. Today I have a fun little project to share with you. This is for our neighbor’s grandson (our “bonus” great-grandson). When grandpa comes over for a glass of wine, Riley has water that he gets himself from the refrigerator door. Since this little guy is SO fascinated with garbage trucks I decided to make him a special glass. I found a clip art garbage truck, brought it in to my Hallmark card program and printed his name on the cab. After I ran it through my Xyron Creative Station with a laminate & permanent adhesive cartridge I fussy cut it and put it on a plastic glass. I can’t wait till we see him again.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Fractured Coloring

The Monday Technique on Splitcoast Stampers is all about the Fractured Card Technique. Buddy Gerry has been knocking this technique out of the park! I have had this tutorial for a few months but not had the nudge to work on it. Today was the day!! This will be entered in the Shopping Our Stash challenge to color our favorite way.

I used Lynn Dunn’s tutorial for my measurements: https://stamptasticdesigns.com/2023/08/09/fractured-card-technique/

The patterned paper is Hand Penned DSP by Stampin Up, retired. The floral image is from Reverse Confetti, Elegant Florals, also retired as RC closed last year. I colored the image using SU Blends in Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya, also adding Light Pink and Light Yellow Spectrum Noir Tri-blends. Usually alcohol markers is my go-to for coloring. I own a lot of other mediums, but I rarely reach for them first.

The cardstock base and strips are all Mint Macaron from Stampin Up. I cut the 1/4 inch strips with a Pink Fresh Studio strip die; it makes it so easy and all are straight cuts.

I enjoyed this technique. I was able to use scraps for the strips. I was also able to shop my stash, which I really like. The greeting is from a wood block set that rarely sees ink and the speckles are from an old set, again, rarely seeing ink. Thanks for stopping by and seeing this new to me, technique.

FRACTURED SQUARE

Hello and welcome. Yes, I’m still hung up on the fractured layout. Since this is 5 x 5 I used a 2 1/4″ square die instead of the 2 1/8″ used on the A2 size. Patterned paper is another one found online, die used is Stitched Squares by Die-namics. While printing the sentiment I went online to find fall leaves clip art then brought them in and sized and placed them. It took several attempts to get the spacing right. Now I’m telling myself “self, it’s time for a different design.” We’ll see how well I listen to that.

Belated birthday

It has been a very long time since I’ve posted anything. I’ve made a few cards here and there but they have been mostly from scraps. This was from scraps too. I found several backgrounds that I had already made. This one was from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit from April 2022. The background stamp was colored with the matching layering stencils. I don’t remember what shades I used, but they were GinaK inks. The sentiment is from Simon Says stamp cut in Dusty Rose with black for the shadow layer. Since this card was late (sadly most of the few cards I’ve sent this year have all been late). I embossed a belated sentiment from the Stampendous Birthday Wish set in gold and trimmed out just the word Belated and attached it over the die cut. The focal panel was cut with Master Layouts 2 and the mat was cut in black. I had a strip left from the background panel  and glued it on the inside with a belated sentiment from Birthday Cheer by GinaK Designs.

taking the next step

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for two of the best servers ever. She’s our server and he is also a server at the same place. They’ve been together for several years and just the two of them are going to the courthouse, nothing fancy for these two, so, I decided on a very simple sentiment “Congratulations on taking this next step”.

Die cut is Opulent Swirls by Gemini, hearts are from 2 hand punches. First I punched the small one then the larger one around it. This is the second wedding card I’ve made with this layout.

glowing pumpkins

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our 6-year-old great-grandson. And as usual the background paper was found online. Using my Silhouette, it was much easier sizing it to 5 1/4″ x 4″. Pumpkins stack is from an online coloring page, colored with Copic’s and yellow Stickles for facial features. After coloring I added a second layer of card stock then fussy cut. Image is popped up. Not to toot my own horn but I think it turned out pretty cute.

B Awesome

A simple little card for Brooke using square shapes and octogon stamp, embossing and a reminder to Bee Awesome.

For my card today, I die cut 3 Spellbinder Classic Squares, then embossed them using Cuttlebug stitched squares embossing folder and Cuttlebug’s Stylized Flowers embossing folder for the yellow layering cardstock mounted on black card base. Yellow, black, flowers, honeycomb and bee for an awesome granddaughter.

My card today will be shared with:
