Walking with a “Joy-ful” Heart

Saturday in the pouring down rain I joined my girlfriend who is now a 2 year breast cancer survivor along with her daughter and maybe another thousand women for the 5K Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. During her journey with radiation treatments, I sent her weekly cards of support and believe she will get a good chuckle when she receives this card.

My card was made using a combination of the Taylored Expressions Gnome die sets, some clipart I found online, pink ribbon is from GKD’s Fight Like a Girl stamp set, dragonfly which have a special meaning to my dearest gf are also GKD’s Dreams Take Flight stamp set and TE’s Linen Background stamp. It was a challenge finding pinks that didn’t clash with each other.

I’ll be sharing my card today with:

Making Cards for Troops

A labor of love! 270 cards for troops group that I mostly made throughout this past year and the card classes I took. Normally I have a group of 6 girlfriends that I make packets for assembly and finishing touches but only two were able to “play” this time around. They did great and learned how to stencil and were amazed at the Taylored Expressions Create in Quads stencils.

Not too much of a mess to clean up after our session. I could have shocked everyone by taking a photo of my “elf” room! YIKES!!

No more posts for me today. Have a great one everyone. Fall has arrived and it’s beginning to feel like soup weather too.

Green Leaves

Working on some Fall cards and after visiting Pinterest decided on this card which uses Gina K Designs Skelton Leaves stamped in key lime ink and fussy cut them out. Sentiment is also GKD Autumn Wishes stamped in Fresh Asparagus. Layered Altenew’s Linear Crossroads die after die cutting twice, adding a little bling and layering on a green cardstock.

My card today will be shared with:

Cardz for Galz #209 Green and Cream Challenge

My cardstock, die and focal image all use Michael’s White Dove cardstock which is their cream/ivory color.

Brown Fall

Masculine fall card today in brown and ivory using Pretty Pink Posh’s Autumn Wreath stamp and die set as well as Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media die which is about as much mixed media that I normally do!! LOL.

My card today will be shared with

My card base is Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate cardstock but looks black in this photo.

homemade goodness

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is just a single layer post card. Our neighbor, who shares her grandson with us, is the best bread baker ever. She bakes bread very often and graciously shares it with us. Along with the bread these past two weeks she also brought over homemade vegetable & split pea soups. So, I thought it would be nice to add a thank you with the return of her dishes. The pictures are online clip art, and I scored 1/4″ on all 4 sides.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Silhouette Thinking of You

So many choices available for challenges and consuming my time on World Cardmaking Day. I chose a color challenge that I enjoy.

This is being entered in the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge: https://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2023/10/design-team-call-and-challenge-522.html

The colors are Blueberry Bushel, Fresh Freesia, and Daffodil Delight. My fingers have a blue tint, once again. Every time I use Blueberry Bushel, I tend to wear it for quite a while.

I ink blended Fresh Freesia and Daffodil Delight together. Then came back with an Inkadinkadoo stamp. I have no idea of the name of the set, but it has many botanical silhouette images and this one fit my rectangle perfectly. The greeting came from Gina K Designs. I added the twine to give it more balance.

I enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my card.

GREEN AND CREAM BIRTHDAY

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for my dear sister-in-law. This layout was found on Pinterest. The one I really liked was an A6 size but I decided to make it a 5 x 7. Patterned paper and base cardstock are from Stampin Up, cream layer was in my stash. Sentiment diamond is Stitched Squares by Die-namics, sentiment was printed on the computer with clip art candles added. My first thought, while putting it together, was yuk. However, once it was done, I liked it, and best of all, hubby liked it too.

Card base is 10 x 7 folded at 5, background paper is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4, pp is 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 cut corner to corner both directions.

I’m entering this at Cardz 4 Galz is green & cream challenge.

Sending Love

This card was mailed today going to a lady who lost her husband a few month’s ago to cancer. She is in need of encouragement.

The challenges were from Splitcoast Stampers. Each Tuesday a person is highlighted who needs a card. This week’s card is going to Mary Jo who recently lost her husband. The other challenge is the color challenge. I blended the colors of Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist (I substituted Key Lime from Gina K Designs), and Daffodil Delight on the card front. Then I stamped flowers from Simon Says Stamp Vintage Garden. The greeting came from the Sending Love set from Gina K Designs.

For the inside of the card I used the same colors and greeting from Gina K Designs Nurturing Blooms. I wrote over the top of the inked blooms.

I am thankful that I do not create too many of these cards. Thanks for stopping by.

garbage truck glass

Hello and welcome. Today I have a fun little project to share with you. This is for our neighbor’s grandson (our “bonus” great-grandson). When grandpa comes over for a glass of wine, Riley has water that he gets himself from the refrigerator door. Since this little guy is SO fascinated with garbage trucks I decided to make him a special glass. I found a clip art garbage truck, brought it in to my Hallmark card program and printed his name on the cab. After I ran it through my Xyron Creative Station with a laminate & permanent adhesive cartridge I fussy cut it and put it on a plastic glass. I can’t wait till we see him again.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
