Quilted Pumpkin

It may still be farm tractor rides to the pumpkin patches and corn mazes at our local farms time but without leaving my house I picked this one of a kind quilted pumpkin from my stash. Last piece of this patterned paper from my stash that I was hoping not to mess up. I liked the soft illustration of wild flowers on it. My quilted white pumpkin is an old red rubber stamp from Serendipity Stamps names Quilted Pumpkin. I was inspired by a mood board and Buddy Johanna’s white pumpkins to follow suit. Sentiment is Gina K Designs So Many Sentiments and dragonflies are also GKD’s Dreams Take Flight.

Double D Challenges: PUMPKINS

The winds died down, the weekend rains stopped and today was a beautiful fall day. Frost tonight then above normal temperatures by the end of the week. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.

happy thanksgiving

Hello and welcome. After seeing fractured cards with this shape die, I went on Amazon and ordered a no name set. Patterned paper was found online and for the sentiment I Googled vertical Thanksgiving sentiments clip art. For some reason it took me a while to get the strips to come together right. I was going to enter this in Just Us Girls challenge 702 but I was not able to upload the card.

Now I’m posting the revised version of my last card, Stacked Pumpkins. Buddy Johanna suggested some definition between the pumpkins. So, I added a gold chord between them, and she was right. Thank you Johanna.

stacked PUMPKINS

Hello and welcome. When I started this card, my intention was to give it to my nail gal, but it didn’t turn out like I had hoped. Pumpkin stack was cut on the Silhouette. The faces, that I used yellow Stickles on, ended up a little messy but hey, it’s a Halloween card so goofy faces are acceptable. Fence was made from woodgrain paper that was run through a tree bark ef by Cuttlebug, then I lightly sponged black ink on it and cut into 1/2″ strips. The “buckle” on the hat band was hand drawn with a gold metalic pen that was gifted to me. Fence and stacked pumpkin are popped up. Background paper is a light purple with spiders and webs on it. Even though I’m not really happy with it I still might give it to her.

Neon Boo!

There are several Halloween Challenges that I decided to play in this month. We have neon, scary and anything goes. So I don’t have any neon inks and didn’t have a chance to borrow my granddaughter’s inks so I made my own neon colors using Bic Highlighters. I scribbled the almost dried out highlighters on some cardstock in yellow and orange, then die cut Tim Holtz’ Sizzix Big Frights 2023 BOO Halloween die and shadow. The spider web is a Cuttlebug Spiderweb folder that I’ve had forever and it was embossed on Michael’s black shimmer cardstock. The green card base is pretty much a neon color too! A little “spooky” especially with a spider included and traditional with the bats, too.

My cards today will be shared with the following challenges:

Colorful Options: October 2023 — NEON

Can You Handle the Pressure: Anything Goes with a twist of spooky and of course the required embossing folder.

Halloween Crafts All Year Round — Challenge #9 — October 15 – November 14

Love making these Halloween cards and I have acquired quite a number of them. LOL

no quiter

Hello and welcome. Oh yes, time again for dear-old-sister’s chuckle of the month. Image is from an online coloring page, colored with Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol. Debossed edges are from a Cuttlebug edge embossing folder. Sentiment “I was going to quit all my bad habits I really, really was. But then it occurred to me that no one likes a quitter” was found online. The hair was colored pink because my d-o-s let her granddaughter color her hair pink. Now, that is true grandmotherly love. It really doesn’t look too bad.

Apple Mixed Media Card

Sometimes I like to dive into Mixed Media. Each week on Splitcoast Stampers there is a Mix challenge. The challenge on Friday was to select apples or pumpkins and create a mixed media project with your favorite. I like both apples and pumpkins, but chose to create with apples.

I used the stamp set Apple Harvest by Stampin Up, which was released in July 2022 along with matching dies that were released in August 2022. To begin with my background, I use a Decorative Mask from the Abundant Beauty set, also Stampin Up. I generally call these stencils and this is a set of 6. I embossed the background with the herringbone stencil, then added Simon Hurley Solar Paste to part of the embossed panel. Then I decided to cut the scallop using a die. That was a mistake as it flattens the embossing. The pattern is still visible but it is not as raised as it was after I embossed it.

I colored the apple image with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I die cut the image. Then I added leaves and flowers. The flowers were colored with a bit of rose ink and a blending brush. I found gems in my stash to match the ink.

This card will be entered in the Retro Rubber Challenge: https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2023/10/challenge-217-anything-goes.html

I enjoyed my dive into mixed media. I have been trying to use those supplies in my stash and I have quite a few pastes waiting to be used. Thanks for stopping by. I am involved in a swap for several weeks with the same person. This card will be headed to my swap partner this week.

Sunflower Party

Taylored Expressions Quad of the Month Club was fun to be part of and only ran for 6 months. The final create in quad stencils included two sunflower panels and two butterfly panels. After adding a thin frame, sentiment backed with a vellum circle and a few bits of embellishments, my card is complete.

happy thanksgiving

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our son & d-i-l. I know I said I should get away from the fractured design, but here it is again. As usual pp was found online and leaves are clip art. There is so much free stuff out there in cyber space. Die used is Stitched Squares by Die-namics. That seems to be my go-to die.

Thanks for stopping by your visits mean a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe. Have a great weekend.

Fright Night Gnome

So many goodies for this fright night gnome that I needed to make a flat shaker card to contain all of them. Using Taylored Expressions Gnome dies and the add on Fright Night dress up dies, a little coloring and assembly completed my gnome. The web patterned paper is from my stash as are the shaker goodies. I appreciate that TE has added dress up add on’s to the original gnome die set. Makes it fun to keep on using this set and investment.
