Today’s card is for the JUGS color week challenge. Embossing folders used are from Cuttlebug. Image is from an online coloring page, colored with Copics. I paper pieced the vase after embossing it for a little interest. I hope my colors will qualify. I thought of making this an Easter card but decided it makes a nice spring birthday card. I’m also entering in Crafty Gals Corner challenges.

So glad you stopped by. Hope you’re happy, healthy & safe.

March Cards

I thought I would share a few cards that were made with no blog challenges in mind.

Double Embossed Hello

This card was made using double embossing. There was a challenge last week at Splitcoast Designs to give this a try. I used a Paper Studio Brick embossing folder first, then used a Crafts Too Blossom folder. I applied ink to the florals with a sponge dauber as well as the leaves. Then I used a q-tip to apply ink to the floral centers. I am sure these are hibiscus flowers which come in all colors. I sponged a bit of gray to the bricks. The hello is from Gina K Designs that came in a stencil kit. I really enjoyed creating this card.

Butterfly Window Birthday

This card was created for the Featured Stamper challenge on Sunday. I used butterflies like the card I CASED, but I added patterned paper behind my butterflies. This paper is from GKD Sending Love. I used a very old embossing folder, Spellbinders M-Bossibilities called Garden Delight. It is probably 15 years old and used very little.

Thanks for sharing in my latest creations.

Bicycle, Bicycle, Bicycle

Double D Challenges: Something with a Handle

I want to ride it now!! Actually not really sure if I remember how to ride a bicycle. I grew up with two wheels, handlebar and pedal brakes! Listening to some Queen music made me this of this GKD image from Your One Kind of Beautiful StampTV kit for the something with a handle challenge at Double D Challenges. I stenciled the striped bottom using a portion of Pretty Pink Posh’s wide stripes stencil, added a strip of green cardstock, then decided the card needed something else so very carefully masked and stenciled the sun rays from GKD’s Sunshine stencil. The inside of the card repeats the black stipes and green strip with a sentiment and sun image from the same set.

Funny thing is that when I was uploading this card to my computer this card from 2018 popped up.

LOL – I do believe I like the updated version much better but my 2018 pink glittery bicycle would fit the mood board better than my entry! It’s always fun to play along with Double D Challenges.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you. Take card, be safe, and Happy Spring.

The Paper Players: PP583

The challenge with Laurie at The Paper Players is a clean and simple challenge with a theme of Blooms. I’m thinking since blooms are small and not fully opened flowers I would use a spotlight technique to ink in a portion of my larger stamped flower. Mindy Eggen recently did a card featuring this technique on her blog.

I decided on Stampin Up’s From the Garden stamp which was stamped in versamark ink and white heat embossed. Using a masking circle stencil, I blended inks in orange, pink and purple-ish. I wasn’t sure of the color names since these inks were left over on the blending brushes. I was lucky to have come across a piece of Gina K Designs Wild Orchid cardstock which seemed to fit perfectly with my spotlighted colors and added a sentiment strip coloring it with the same blending brush. Amazing how much ink really stays on those brushes.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Bunny in basket

https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2022/03/something-with-handle.htm

When I saw Double D’s challenge, something with a handle, I thought what’s better than an Easter basket. Pp is from my Easter stash, basket and bunny are from the Silhouette, corner hearts are a small hand punch. Basket trim is a Sizzex extended die, flowers are stickers found in my stash, grass is a MS punch. Hearts are double punched with Clear Wink of Stella added, bunny’s bow also has a little Wink of Sella. Basket is popped up with mounting tape. And of course, I couldn’t resist the googly eye.

pearl Anniversary

Happy ST. Paddy’s Day to Ya!

Our son & d-i-l’s 30th anniversary is coming up so I wanted to make sure I put pearls on their card. Card base is Basic White from SU., subtle background paper was found online, curvy border die is Dotted Borders by Avery Elle. The string of pearls and small glitter pearls (flower centers) are from my stash. Flowers are from a SU punch I’ve had many years. Each flower is doubled and sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist. Sentiment was printed on the computer.

So glad you stopped by. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Stay healthy and safe.

Birthday Plaid

Can You Handle The Pressure

My card will be entered into the Can You Handle The Pressure challenge which requires the use of an embossing folder and the twist of plaid.

My embossing folder is from Cuttlebug with lots of circle some flowers which may have been a spring bundle. After locating some plaid patterned paper from my stash I added it to a side panel of the embossing folder. Die cut a Spellbinders in’spire Flower Power II die from a SU Banners die and added to my card front. I then die cut the flower from white card stock once again and also from the plaid patterned paper and inlaid the plaid into my petals.

Another fun challenge and a way to keep on bringing out those embossing folders.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Cheers & Beers

https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2022/03/just-us-girls-challenge-623-trend-week.html

Today’s card is for our son. Can’t believe he’ll be 57. That’s how old hubby was when he retired.

The layout is sort of a combo of cards I saw on Pinterest. Embossing folder Woodgrain is from The Paper Studio. After embossing the Crumb Cake layer, I lightly sponged with Soft Suede. Image is online clip art. Sentiment on the beer mug is “Cheers, Beers and many more years!, Happy Birthday.” I also sponged the edges of the image strip and popped it up.

Thanks for visiting, please come back. I really appreciate any comments. Stay healthy & Safe.

Spooky Spider Web

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/03/march-anything-halloween.html

Hello my friends. As you can see, today’s card is for the March Two Old Bats challenge. Again, everything is computer generated. Spider web background paper was found online and I thought it would look kind of cool printed on green cs. Spiders and witch are online clip art. At first my idea was to just sponge black on the very edges. Then I decided to use a cotton ball, with Distress Ink Black Soot, and spread it on a little more than just the edges. I’m actually kind of pleased with it.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate any comments. Stay healthy and safe.
