Red and White Challenge

ModSquad Challenge Red and White — That’s It Challenge

My entry into the ModSquad Challenge “Red and White — That’s It” challenge uses stamps from GKD Sentimental Sentiments StampTV Kit, Season’s Greetings, Cherry Red and pure white cardstock, versamark, fine detail white embossing powder, Sakura white gelly roll pen. Stamped and heat embossed the branches and ornament on cherry red cardstock, stamped the Christmas sentiment and die cut the outline three times mounting for a little dimension, the other sentiments were from the same stamp set. I challenged myself to add the little * and dots with the gelly roll pen…whew it worked.

Neutral Fall Challenge

Double D Challenges: Neutral Fall Challenge

My focus on the Neutral Fall Challenge Mood Board was on whites, grays, sunflower and white pumpkins…..none that photograph very well. I used the GKD Autumn Splendor StampTV Kit, clear and white fine detail embossing powder, versamark ink, Memento London Fog and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks and Impressions Obsession die. I think it looks better IRL but since I made it decided to enter into the Double D Challenge anyway. I don’t think neutrals are my thing.

Thanks for looking.

Snowflake Stencils by Bonnie

Snowflake Stencil #1
Snowflakes #2
Snowflakes #3

Three cards made using the snowflake stencils by Bonnie. First card was made on navy cardstock, sponged on light blue ink and then sprayed with Glitter Dust for some shine. I added some die cut snowflakes and sentiment in glitter cardstock and gemstones.

2nd card is again in blue but a lighter blue, ink stenciled, added some sparkle and then stamped the church scene on top in black ink.

3rd card was stenciled in Distress ink topped with Nuvo glitter paste, ran two rows of double adhesive tape and added glitter (what a mess), die cut some snowflakes and sentiment in sparkle cardstock , added some ribbon.

Thanks so much for your generosity, Bonnie.

Blue at 9 minutes and 50 seconds

As You See It Challenge #212

The As You See It Challenge #212 was “I want you to color me – Quickly”. Blue and under 10 minutes. So I gathered up the GKD: Background Diagonal Stamp, Navy and White cardstock, navy and powder blue ink, Memory Box Snowflake Joy die, and some glitter dotted cardstock (unknown paper pad). Moved my Big Shot within reaching distance, the cardstock was ready so was the Misti….GO….Stamped the diagonal in navy — where’s the tidy towel pulling baby wipes turning the background stamp, inking with powder blue…done! Running the Joy die through the Big Shot not once, not twice but three times! (after the first time through the big shot discovered I had two pieces of cardstock — one went flying) Oh brother, all of those little pieces in the snowflake, found the pick and started pushing them out. I glued the J and Y in place layered three times leaving the snowflake for last in case I didn’t get three completed. I glued the middle snowflakes from the die to the card front too. If only I had a little more time, I would have added some bling to the little snowflakes and lined up that snowflake O a little better. My heart was racing but made it to the card front; my fingers are still blue but mission completed in 9 minutes and 50 seconds!

ModSquad Sentiment Says It All Challenge

ModSquadChallenge – Sentiment Says It All

This card is for the 2 week ModSquadChallenge hosted by Joyce “Sentiment Says It All”. On my card I used GKD: Autumn Wreath Builder and StampnFoil Thankful Leaves, Lucky Clover layering cardstock and a combination of inks and distress oxides. The leaf stencil is from SimonSaysStamps. I added some gold thread as an accent. This is the softer version of my card and the one entered into the challenge.

Here’s the second version of the card, I inked the stencil and then topped with Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze (Glow in the Dark). I made more variations of this same card using kraft cardstock, brown, lucky clover cardstock. I added GKD Glitz Glitter Gel in gold to a few but it covers up the sponged inks so I think I like the glaze better.

Second version of the challenge card

Glitz or Soft??? Which one do you like better??

Cheers!

Christmas Noel – Reconciliations

I picked up a really cute stamp and die set with 50% Michael’s coupon that I couldn’t resist . My patterned paper is Holiday Bash also from Recollections. I added some SimonSaysStamp Sensational Snowflakes in their glitter cardstock and since I wanted to showcase the patterned paper these are 5×7″ cards.

Thanks for looking. These will be for two girlfriends. We meet monthly for dinner and a cocktail so I believe they will get a kick out of them.

It’s a bargain!

Momenta A2 frame and accents

A few weeks ago I was shopping at Hobby Lobby and they had a lot of supplies on clearance. So I picked up this Momenta A2 frame with accents. It includes 11 pieces and it was around $3.00. How could I not purchase it!! My sister’s birthday is in a few days so this one is going to her. Ivory cardstock with the frame and center scalloped circle cut from charcoal brown. Sentiment heat set with embossing powder. The butterflies were cut from a background made using pixie powder (a gift from my sister). It’s nice to have some of those background pieces ready just for a little accent to the cards.

I need to get this in the mail today and then it’s back to trimming shrubs for the winter.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

3 Colors Addiction

Black, Brown, Cream, Tag and Shaker!

How did I develop this addiction for the ModSquadChallenge of using 3 Colors and much less the colors of black, brown and cream plus a tag!!! The only thing I can say is this is my third and final card in the challenge (I’m normally a one card gal) and I’m totally out of cream (Ivory) cardstock so I must stop!!

Cardstock used: GKD’s Black, Ivory and Charcoal Brown. I found some brown and cream patterned paper from GKD and used the Decorative Tag Set Die. The sentiment is from Sugar Pea’s Stamp of Approval set and was stamped in Memento’s Rich Cocoa and the YOU on the tag was stamped in GKD Ivory pigment ink. It was very light so I coated it in some glossy accents. The tag was cut in my ivory and inlaid with a smaller tag die in black. The cattails die is unknown and was cut out in the charcoal brown cardstock and added some wink of stella for a little sparkle. The window is from My Favorite Things Square Peek Window die. I made my own shakers by coating black and ivory cardstock in glossy accents, adding black glitter to the black letting dry and after cleaning up my glitter mess punched them out with a paper punch. I was pleasantly surprised when it worked and can thank Bonnie for inspiring me to use what is on hand.

ModSquadChallenge – 3 Colors –I wasn’t able to upload to the site because it does not accept more than three entries from the same site. I believe it counts my 2 and Lisa’s 1 card. In the future, I’ll only make one entry so others have a chance to join in. Good to know!

Thanks for looking and thanks for a provoking challenge, Gail Scott.
