So the Double D Challenge continues with Day 7-12 of the 12 Days of Christmas song. I chose Day 8 and found this coloring page that I resized, colored using Sunflower Metalic Marker pens for my maids and their milk pails, printed Bessie twice to cut one out and pop her out. Sentiment is from SU’s Very Punny stamp set as are the punched shapes.

Happy New Year! My card today will be entered into a new to me challenge Sunday Stamps. Thanks to Bonnie for sharing this challenge site. This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge using this sketch:

My card features an adorable image from Newton’s Nook Designs “Newton Celebrates”, Say Cheese 4 Fireworks Stencil, Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze, Concord & 9th Double Cut Numbers dies, SSS glitter paper and Spellbinder’s Happy word die.

Of course that last zero is crooked but oh well what else is new!!! Maybe 2020 I’ll attempt for straight lines 🙂

Cards are completed, tags too so the only thing left to make were a few treat boxes. These will be entered into the Dies R Us Challenge #135 – Anything Christmas. The die used was a Sizzix Thinlits pillow box with poinsettias. The boxes were cut from patterned cardstock from my local Michael’s, SU punches were used to layer the Verve Stamps O Christmas Tree stamp set sentiment, the SSS Sensational Snowflakes die snowflake was cut from glitter paper and the fussy cut mug (only needed one) is a GKD stamp from the Mugs & Kisses stamp set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.

The challenge at The Sisterhood Of Crafters is “Anything Christmas”. This will be my first time playing in this group’s challenge and I decided to make money holders for our adult children (too big for toys). I decided to use a Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval sets: Hip Holiday for the wonky tree and Merry & Bright Boughs for the sentiment. Spellbinders Label Eight also used. Layered some shiny patterned paper on grey and then GKD Bubblegum Pink cardstock.

The second money holder was layered on some GKD Kraft cardstock and Holiday Wreath Builder. The layered poinsettia was die cut (unknown) on craft and colored. The only thing left to do is put some cash in these and maybe make an envelope.

The challenge at the ModSquadChallenge is to create ‘”Snowy or Starry Night- This week you must incorporate snowy OR starry night into your project theme.  Snow or stars means more than one.  It has to be a snowy or starry night.‘

So my night sky is filled with stars using the Tim Holtz stars stencil. After creating my night sky with a combination of Distress Oxide and GKD inks, using versamark and white embossing powder to create my night Starry sky. I repeated the process a number of times. The snowy hills were cut using Poppystamps Stitched Hills dies. The image, snowflakes and sentiment are from an older Inkadinkadoo set.

The Fill in the Blank challenge at the As You Can See It Challenge #215 Challenge is to fill in the blank ” __________ brings me holiday joy”. To me, Peace, Joy and Celebration of the reason for Christmas brings me joy. Time to rejoice, time to be with family, time to be with friends and to experience Peace in my life.

My card for the challenge does not have a lot of stamping only the sentiment which is from GKD’s Holiday Frame illustrated by Melanie and the PennyBlack Drop Nativity and Gilded Drop dies complete this CAS card. A little bit on coloring on the background layered on some GKD Tranquil Teal cardstock.

The December challenge over at Gina K. Designs is to create a tag for any occasion. I’m stepping out of the tag shaped box by using a decorative tag shape from SSS Holly & Pine Frame die. I cut the die in glitter paper and then two other times for layering. My image is from GKD’s Holiday Season which was stamped on the Silhouette cut files for this stamp set. I also used a blank cut file glued to the back of the image for the lucky gift box recipient.

So of course since there are three grandchildren, they each need their own gift tag. The bucket hat snowman is from GKD’s Season’s Greetings while the middle colorful snow”girl” was from the Holiday Season stamp set. Here’s hoping that the tags survive gift opening and can be saved as ornaments for next year:)

Judy’s challenge at the ModSquadChallenge is to create a Christmas card using NO Red or Green the traditional Christmas Colors. So I guess if I can’t go with tradition, I’ll attempt to bring in some shine. Using some metallic, shiny patterned paper cardstock with some lovely snowflakes as my background, I die cut Santa’s sleigh multiple times with the final one using some Tim Holtz black metallic cardstock. After adding a little bit of white bakers twine and a sentiment from SSS, non-traditional it is.

Partridge in a Pear Tree….but wait where’s the tree! For my card for the Double D Challenge of Twelve Days of Christmas, I chose Day 1 “Partridge in a Pear Tree” but only after searching through some stamp sets for what I believe is a partridge. My partridge and the sentiment were both from a 2008 The Cat’s Pajamas clearly swanky stamp set. The frame stamped in GKD’s Christmas Pine ink is also a GKD stamp from Christmas Wishes. In lieu of an actual tree, even though you cannot make it out clearly, I did emboss the checked layer of patterned paper with a Darice tree embossing folder and the “golden” pears were found online and fussy cut. The sprig of leaves is a Tim Holtz Sizzix thinlits die that I trimmed down to fit.
