Blue at 9 minutes and 50 seconds

As You See It Challenge #212

The As You See It Challenge #212 was “I want you to color me – Quickly”. Blue and under 10 minutes. So I gathered up the GKD: Background Diagonal Stamp, Navy and White cardstock, navy and powder blue ink, Memory Box Snowflake Joy die, and some glitter dotted cardstock (unknown paper pad). Moved my Big Shot within reaching distance, the cardstock was ready so was the Misti….GO….Stamped the diagonal in navy — where’s the tidy towel pulling baby wipes turning the background stamp, inking with powder blue…done! Running the Joy die through the Big Shot not once, not twice but three times! (after the first time through the big shot discovered I had two pieces of cardstock — one went flying) Oh brother, all of those little pieces in the snowflake, found the pick and started pushing them out. I glued the J and Y in place layered three times leaving the snowflake for last in case I didn’t get three completed. I glued the middle snowflakes from the die to the card front too. If only I had a little more time, I would have added some bling to the little snowflakes and lined up that snowflake O a little better. My heart was racing but made it to the card front; my fingers are still blue but mission completed in 9 minutes and 50 seconds!

    1. LOL…thanks Bonnie, I figured the only way to get it done was to make a game out of it. This was a fun challenge.

  1. Wow! Gayle! You had me panting right along with you at your description of the process you went through to complete our Speed Stamping Challenge! You did a great card and it wasn’t an easy one either! Love that little snowflake but I can see how it would be a trouble maker! Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenges!

    1. Thanks, so much for a fun challenge. I had a great time with it and my adrenaline was definitely at it’s peak to come in under the time limit. Thanks so much for taking time to comment. I appreciate it.

  2. I’m with the others. The description is priceless, the design fantastic and the result is precious. Way to go friend. I love it and you should be a winner with this one.

    1. Haha, Johanna, this really was fun. My heart was really beating once the clock started. It could be refined some and I probably will add those little gem stones. Thanks so much for your support.

  3. Beautiful card. I love the plaid background – it really sets off the sentiment. Great detailed description. I was out of breath as you were racing toward the finish line.

    1. Thanks, Gerry, I needed to make a game out of this challenge to get through it. My fingers were so blue trying to get the dark blue off of that background stamp to stamp with the lighter color. Now that I think of it I should have stamped light first then dark….LOL…it was fun. Thanks again for your support.

    1. Lol…thanks, Lisa, I really had fun doing this. My heart was racing, my fingers were blue but it pretty much was the direction I was heading for in completion. thanks again.

  5. HAHA! Who says that card making isn’t an exciting hobby! I love that the speed challenge gets my adrenalin going – but my craft room always looks like a tornado has gone through it when I look around after the clock has stopped! Love the result and that you managed to fit in layering up the die cuts! Like you, I often look and think about what I could have included with just another minute or so… Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It – and for playing so enthusiastically!

  6. I love your beautiful blue plaid background for those standout white letters and snowflake and your post mad me smile – I can almost feel the tension as you raced to beat the clock! Bravo on a well executed card!! Thanks for taking on our speed challenge over at As You See It this week!

  7. LOL,that’s how I feel when I do these timed cards too! You were brave to do that background stamp, that would have put me over the time limit! The joy is so pretty over the plaid, especially with the snowflake! Good job! Thanks for playing with our speed challenge over at As You See It this week!
