Monochromatic Shine

Double D Challenge – What is YOUR Christmas Style

This card will be entered into the Double D Challenge “What is YOUR Christmas style? So today my Christmas card making style is: Monochromatic and Shiny embossing powder. I received a package from SSS and included was the Big & Bold Holiday Ornament Stamp set from Colorado Craft Company. And when they tell you its Big & Bold believe me it is. I blended my white cardstock using Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink. When that dried I stamped with versamark the ornament image a number of times and heat embossed using white embossing powder. Sentiment is from the same stamp set.

And of course I couldn’t stop at one so here are a few others that I made with the same set in different colors.

GKD Cherry Red and Gold Embossed; SSS Midnight Green and white embossing.
GKD Tranquil Teal and silver embossing powder.

Thankful Shaker Cup

ModSquadChallenge Theme: Thanks

Well this was an interesting challenge from the team over at ModSquadChallenge to incorporate the Theme of Thanks or Thankful and make it a shaker but not any kind of shaker but one using an acrylic cup. Sigh none of those little acrylic cups in my stash so I created my own. Not sure if this will be permissible but I used a clear plastic cup that I altered into my shaker….lol…what a day!

Inside my cup is Santa and is reindeer from GKD’s Poster Board Christmas, Sentiment from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Winter Silhouettes, my background was from a Michael’s craftsmart paper pad, used some green sequins and gem stones for the shaker, created a spellbinder’s frame for the outside and a snowflake to cover some of the print on my “acrylic” cup.

Definitely a hand deliver only card and it’s very top heavy. I do believe I am shaker-ed out!!

CASE-ing Bonnie

CASE-ing Bonnie
#2 CASE
#3 CASE

Who better to CASE a card idea than our very own Buddie Bonnie! Three different cards and two different but similar dies to attempt to do justice to Bonnie’s original with the die over red gingham. I switched out the gingham for a holiday design and shiny cardstock on the second and third cards. The Bells die is from Creative Expressions but not sure about the poinsettia die (Amazon). The sentiment is from a SU “Come to Bethlehem” stamp set which was stamped with GKD Christmas Pine and layered on an inked background of the same color.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the idea, too, Bonnie.

Xmas Express

Mod Squad Challenge – Tis the Season Vehicles

My card today will be entered into the Mod Squad Challenge “Tis the Season” to include a vehicle on our project. My pick up truck delivering a Christmas tree as well as the embossing folder are part of a Recollections (Michael’s) 6 piece stamp set. The sentiment is from an older Inkadinkadoo clear stamp set purchased many years ago on clearance. The main image was stamped in GKD Cherry Red and Christmas Pine then stamped again in VersaMark ink and clear heat embossed with embossing powder. I swiped some fog ink over the plaid embossing folder, used a marker to color in the wreath and added some liquid pearls for the berries finally topping everything off with Nuvo glitter gloss aqua shimmer.

No Arguments

As You See It Challenge #213

My card today is for the As You See It Challenge “Circular Argument” sketch challenge. My main circle comes from SimonSaysStamp’s Holly & Pine Frame die, the second circle contains a GKD sentiment from Holiday Greetings and was punched with the SU circle and scallop punches, then to add a little extra to the sentiment circle I punched some branches using the Martha Stewart punch, layered it on two different patterned papers from CraftSmart paper pack (from Michael’s), added a few self adhesive gems and finally attached to a GKD Cranberry Tart card base.

I stepped outside with the non- traditional colors and hopefully it works. Thanks for looking.

Santa’s Sleigh and Reindeer

First Attempt
Sleigh #2
Sheet Music#3
DP & Bonnie Stencil #4
Soft and Silver Bonnie Stencil background #5
Forest #6

I had a lot of fun using this Santa Sleigh and Reindeer die set that I ordered from Amazon. The name on the packaging is WYSE. I was quite surprised that the sleigh cut out on my Big Shot using the metal shim nicely. A lot of die cutting as I stacked each image 3 times.

#1 and 2 use GKD patterned papers and embossing folder on #2. I sponged some patterned papers as my background for #3 , 4 and 5 and added my Bonnie snowflake stencils on #4 and #5 with some texture paste. Finally #6 I stamped a tree from SU’s Lovely As A Tree (my all time favorite set from SU) and added the white glitter deer and GKD Sentiment.

Santa’s Coal

Treat Boxes

We celebrated a “faux”-Thanksgiving with our daughter and family Saturday. So since they already have their home decorated for Christmas, I figured it wasn’t too early to let B&C know that Santa is watching. Inside their pillow box that was created with the Sizzix thinlits pillow box with poinsettias die they found some “coal” candy. The tag was cut from GKD’s tag set and stamped with an image from the GKD “Wishing You Joy” stamp set. I’m letting it up to them to check the correct box. Lol — they did get a kick out of it and gobbled up some of the coal. Our Brooke immediately asked if I, Gigi, made this. She’s my little stamper!

Thanksgiving Finale

Stampendous Pilgrim Chicks
Denami Designs Gobbler

Cards for the grand kids. I made two of the Denami Designs turkey for the girls and the pilgrim chick for our grandson. GKD Designer Paper and Cardstock. Sentiments from the dollar bins. I’m going to have to start looking for those adorable online images that Gerry always finds. Thanks for looking.

StampTV November “Let It Snow” Challenge

Stamp TV November Monthly Mix Challenge

Playing along with the StampTV November Monthly Mix Challenge “Let It Snow” and CASE-ing Kristina Werner’s Day 6 Holiday Card Series 2019. My stamps were GKD’s: Winter Cheer, Holiday Season, Snow One Like You, Season’s Greetings, Holiday Hospitality. I used my Silhouette cut files for all of these snowmen…no fussy cutting. Cut out snowflakes using SSS Sensational Snowflakes die on glitter paper and used the Newton’s Nook Hills and Grass stencil for my snow banks. Added some gems and sequins for my shaker card. Not always a fan of shaker cards but this came together nicely.
