Fishy Birthdays

Our son-in-law’s birthday is the end of January and he takes pictures of fish while snorkeling. Actually he takes pictures of everything. Our son’s birthday is the beginning of February and he has aquariums with fish and always has had them. So with that in mind I thought these cards would be perfect for each of them. The balloons with the little face that I stamped in it is a little scary, though. Stamp set used was Stampendous’ Sushi Bowl Party and sentiment is from GKD Best Fishes.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day.

New Butterfly

The Sisterhood of Crafters New Sistahs and Challenge
Just Us Girls Challenge 520

The challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters is to use a newly acquired item to our stash. My new item is the butterfly die that I ordered from Amazon (not sure of the manufacturer). The challenge at Just Us Girls Challenge #520 is a photo week challenge of butterflies.

In addition to the butterfly die, I also used SU Pretty petals background stamp as well as Peace, Love & Cupcakes stamp set for the sentiment. The Pretty Petals background stamp was inked and stamped off once on scrap paper and then stamped on the card base with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink. I cut the outline of the butterfly die by using the die on cardstock and using a blade to cut it out. The butterfly layer was also sprayed with Hero Arts Iridescent Shimmer Spray for some shine and added sequins from SSS Blue moon sequin pack.

Purr-fect Redo

GinaK January Monthly Mix Challenge

The January challenge at Gina K Designs “Let’s Reflect” and to re-do a card from the previous year. Since I’m in Valentine’s day mode, I needed to go back 2 years by re-doing this card using GKD’s Better with You Stamp set.

Cats -- MMC22018

My current card uses the kitties and same sentiment from the Better With You stamp set and the hearts in my night sky are GKD’s Spoon Me set. The sky was created with Distress Inks in Broken China, Wilted Violet, Black Soot, a little water and Hero Arts white iridescent shimmer spray. A2 layers dies from Waffle Flower were used for my panels.

New Baby in Town

ModSquadChallenge – Get Your Animal Stamps Inky

The ModSquadChallenge for this week is to use animals on your project so I reached deep into my stash of older stamps and found this all too cute Sheriff Bear red rubber stamp. Not sure what company made him as he was a cling and no name so if anyone can identify him I would appreciate it. The sentiment was computer generated, the stars are from die cut Spellbinders and the patterned paper is an All About Boys DCWV stack that I’ve also had for years.

This card is for baby’s grandparents and I’m hoping they like it as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by for a peek.

Purple Pink Red Challenge

As You See It Challenge 217 Love is in the Air

My card today was going to be entered into the Just Us Girls Challenge #519 color week’s colors of Purple, Pink and Red however not sure if it’s our site or theirs but I cannot upload to their challenge. But all is not lost since the As You See It Challenge Challenge #217 “Love is in the Air” should work for this card. Fingers Crossed that it works. Anyway here are the details of my card: my striped background on the fun fold was made using Pretty Pink Posh’s striped stencil in distress inks on a light pink cardstock. The inside was stenciled in light pink with Pretty Pink Posh’s layered hearts stencil. The center die is Birch Press Designs Floating Hearts Die which I cut in the wild lilac and then again in hot pink, glittery purple and shiny red papers, the arrow is Penny Black’s sweet heart die set and the sentiment is from GKD’s Better With You stamp set. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Thinking of You

The Sisterhood of Crafters: Thinking Of You Challenge

Just under the deadline with this card for the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters to include the prominent sentiment of “Thinking of You”. It was a snowy day at our home on Saturday so I was able to create some backgrounds using the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Hearts Stencil A&B. This stenciled background was created with mulled lavender Distress Oxide ink and the second stencil GKD’s Glitz Glitter Get in wild lilac. Sponged some wild lilac ink on the Spellbinders large classic ovals die mounted it with some foam tape and then double cut cupid’s arrow from Penny Black’s sweet heart dies set. The sentiment was an older wood mounted stamp with no company name on it. Maybe from the dollar section at a big box store.

Thanks for looking. Happy Sunday!

Busy Balloon Birthday

DRU Challenge #137 Birthdays
DoubleD Fun with Balloons Challenge

ModSquad Recipe Challenge

Seems like a lot of challenges are including balloons or birthday so my card today I believe fits all three of the linked challenges. I used a variety elements for this card. My background was stenciled with PrettyPinkPosh’s Layered Party stencils. This is two separate stencils to create the “A”balloon background which was sponged with a variety of Distress Oxide inks and the “B” banner stencil was created using Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer paste and GKD turquoise sea glitz glitter gel. The stamped part is the Mama Elephant little pup with the balloon bouquet stamp and die set and stamped sentiment is GKD’s Simple Numbers. Next up are the dies: Tim Holtz Sizzix celebrate word dies, Poppystamps Pinpoint Balloons for the tittle dot above the “i” and the Waffle Flower A2 Layers Die set. The interactive is a wobbler for the balloon bouquet.

DiesRUs – Waffle Flower A2 Layers Die, Poppystamps Pinpoint Balloons, Sizzix Celebrate word dies. ModSquad Challenge Recipe Challenge – Pretty Pink Posh Layered Party Stencils, Mama Elephant and GKD stamp sets and wobbler for interaction feature.

Butterfly Banners

Sunday Stamps Challenge SSC222

My card today will be entered into the Sunday Stamps SSC222 “Have a Banner of a Time” sketch challenge.

My background was created from my all time favorite DCWV The Mariposa Stack patterned paper pack, the banners were created using Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder and the sentiment is a GKD Block Greetings stamp set. Both the block stamp and sentiment were heat embossed using Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold embossing powder. The ends of the banners were punched using a Martha Stewart corner butterfly punch then trimmed down the banner. A gold cording completes this card.

I’ll be sending this one out as a sympathy card. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Baby

I was in the need of two baby cards so I pulled out my GKD Bundle of Love stamp set from the Journey of the Heart StampTV kit and created my pink girl and blue boy card. Baby Girl was already born but we are waiting on that little boy to make an appearance.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping in for a peek.
