Today’s card is my second edge to edge shaker card. These are so much easier to create without adding all of that foam tape and no leaks!!! I ink sponged my winter night sky, added a moon, stamped my images using Gina K Designs’ Poster Board Christmas and Merry & Bright Stamp TV Kit stamp sets. Added some of GKD’s Vanilla Ice Sequins and then silver glitter….panic set in because the glitter stuck to the background. Using a brush moved it to the trees so they are glistening in the cold winter night. Added a glitter frame to complete this card.

I think Santa my need headlights on his sleigh as the card is a little dark. LOL!

Just Add Ink Challenge 561 — Just Add a Shaker

Back again for some more challenges! I haven’t played in quite some time but felt it was time to jump back into the challenge game. Today’s card is a edge to edge flat full shaker card to meet the Just Add Ink Challenge and my flip flops are definitely a sign of summer for the Double D Challenges.

Using a piece of World Beaches patterned paper gifted to me by my sister, I adhered this to a piece of cardstock to make it sturdier then added some red line tape as well as a sheet protector cut larger than the card base. After adhering all three sides of the sheet protector, I added my shaker bits and gems and sealed the top section. More tape added and I really mean more tape and adhered to the card base. I stamped the flip flops from Gina K Designs Hello Sunshine stamp set first of my last treasured sheet of SU vellum and heat set it then stamped again on patterned paper, fussy cut the flops and adhered to my vellum, adding this and a stamped sentiment from the same stamp set to my card front.

Even though CAS cards are always such a challenge for me, I enjoy playing along with the AAA Cards Clean and Simple Challenges. The current challenge is a sketch with an optional twist of including critters. Since it’s 4th of July weekend and I’m sure we will be having a hot dog sometime this weekend, I decided on GKD’s Cute as A Bug stamp set illustrated by Rupa Shevde an older red rubber set for my any critters. I also used Gina K Designs’ Perfect Plaids by Tami Mayberry to stamp my “picnic blanket” in red ink. After coloring in my image and thinking I needed to add some light blue around the critters, YIKES!!!, mistake the blue looked off so took some pixie powder and a little water on my block and lightly dabbed with a piece of plastic. Maybe I’ll call that rain because for a picnic, you need hot dogs, ants and rain!!! Quirky as I can be, I decided to add the circle sentiment “Take Out” from The Happy Planner stamp set.

It’s a timed challenge at the As You See It Challenge blog and I almost got stuck for time in my foilage card. So the challenge was to create a card under 10 minutes with a foilage theme after collecting all supplies. I CASE’d a Hero Arts card I saw today on their YouTube channel and decided to give it a go. After cutting out the Hero Arts Jungle Fancy Frame die twice in two different shades of cardstock, used my roller brush thingy to get out the pieces of the die….well at least most of the pieces….then used a spray adhesive to adhere in offset layering to my card base. I decided to add the Simon Says Stamp Painted Friend word die also cut twice and added Bonnie’s sentiment strip to complete my card. Good thing I precut the sentiment strips and although a little crooked, I kind of like the idea of this card. Time to wash my sticky fingers and clean up the die pieces which will take another 10 minutes or so.

So what’s more scary — Rats or being asked as a Guest Designer for the Two Old Bats July Anything Halloween Challenge???? I am so honored to have had my May card chosen as a Top Winner and invited to be a Guest Designer. Thank you so much! I have so much fun participating in the monthly Halloween challenges.

This month’s inspiration board inspired me to use the Simon Says Stamp Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2019 stamp set. Mr. Rat was stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturine Black ink and clear heat embossed, then colored while sponging a little GKD Fresh Asparagus and Hero Arts Tangerine inks around this little guy. My swirl of stars was created with the Tim Holtz Hocus Pocus layering stencil and some black soot distress ink. Some glossy accents was added to Mr. Rat’s eyes to help them pop. A couple of strips of black cardstock, sentiment and orange gems finishes my card.

Playing along with the masculine challenge with the As You Can See It Challenge today. I had a lot of fun creating this group of cards most of which were included in the mailing to the “Making Cards for Troops” group. The image was found online and colored in with colored pencils. The sentiment is computer generated and the map was copied from road and street map that my husband used during his driving career before GPS was available to him. He still would rather look at a map!! Two other samples include one in black and white on kraft and the other is for those “Y”s who prefer trains.

AAA Cards Clean & Simple Challenge #192 is a one corner + childhood memories optional twist. Challenge accepted and if I must admit I still like a good lollipop. I have been attempting to reorganize my stamps and came across a red rubber wood mounted lollipop stamp with no name on the block but probably from the dollar section at a local big box store. After stamping my lollipops, I decided on rainbow flavors and colors, then sponged some GKD Bubblegum pink. The sentiment “yum” was stamped in Hero Arts Ombre red ink and is from me & my BIG ideas The Happy Planner stamp set.

Father’s Day cards for our son and son in law this year. The patterned papers for these cards were gifted to me by my sister called World Beaches from Paper House. It’s a lovely paper pack and I was happy to add it to my stash and my goal to keep on using those patterned papers. Who knows patterned papers may become popular again.

The second photo is the inside of the previous card and was stamped using GKD’s By The Sea by Theresa Momber. The fourth photo is the inside of the previous card and will be sent to our son in law. Their annual Hawaii trip may now be in jeopardy. This may little comfort to him if the trip falls through but it sure looks like paradise on the beach. Sentiments also were included in the By The Sea stamp set.

June Anything Halloween

My card today is for the Halloween monthly challenge with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge of Anything Halloween . There were so many choices and directions to have gone with this month’s mood board but I decided on the bottom right tile. Dark spooky skies, Halloween moon, trees and fenceline with a pop of color.

My card uses Penny Black’s “Dark Spirits” slapstick/cling stamp. Ooohh!! Such a great name for this stamp. I finally picked up some gray stamp pads and used them to create my background after masking a circle for the moon and using SSS’s cloud stencil from their April kit. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch. I needed a pop of color to balance my hanging pumpkins and lightly colored in my spooky moon.

So much fun to play Halloween on a monthly basis.
