So MFT came out with a pretty Card Kit, recently. I like it and everyone that has gotten it absolutely loves it, but I was thinking I could do something similar with different stamps. So, I used the Beautiful Bloom stamp and Hello Beautiful sets that were a card kit last summer to create this card with the same ideas from this new kit. I used a piece that I did a while back with different Ken Oliver Color Bursts and embossed the flower in white ink on top.
After cutting the flower out using the die, I cut out the word “Beautiful from the Hello Beautiful set. I used silver, but realized it wouldn’t look good just on top of the flower, so cut out the background for it in a dark blue that was similar to the darkest color in the watercolor piece.
This is what I wound up with and I really like it. I used my Cuttlebug to do all the die cutting and some Gina K Connect glue for adhering everything.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today!
I really like the Concord and 9th sets: Fashion Wear and Winter Wear. I wanted to frame a face with flowers, so I used pieces from the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder set, the Autumn Wreath Builder set, and the Mandala Maker set. Granted, had I started with the piece in a different position, I wouldn’t have had to angle it, but I really like the way it turned out. Definitely had fun with it and I really like the way it turned out.
Just wanted to share this with you. My computer is being a bit finicky today, or I would put links to everything.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.
Here’s a birthday card for a friend that I did following the current MFT Sketch challenge. Definitely had fun with it.
My friend likes orange, so found a way to use that. Here is the inside:
Just wanted to share it and I know she sees my blog, so I was very glad to be a part of Stamp Buddies and be able to share on here.
Thank you for spending some of your valuable time with me.
The MFT Sketch for this week is pretty simple. Can I do simple? Sometimes, but not this time. I went with wildly colorful animals peeking out of the simple strip. But, wanted to make a fun background, so pulled out my Concord & 9th Turnabout Stamp Oh, Hello. Used the same colors in both ink and card: Gina K Designs Tangerine Twist, Lucky Clover, Bubblegum Pink, and Sea Glass.
I hope you got a kick out of all the differently colored animals. I’m in charge of the challenge on WeCraftCards.com next week and I’m challenging people to use colors that are not normal for their images. A green and pink giraffe, blue llama, orange and red kangaroo (okay that one is slightly close), green elephant, and a purple/pink/green koala. Definitely had fun with this one. All are from different MFT stamp sets.
Thanks for spending some time with me today. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Had a lot of fun with this one! Lots of embossing and water coloring involved.
Both the background stamp, and the fairy set are from Hero Arts.
Thanks for spending some time with me! Now, go enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Definitely had fun with this card. I used a Diamond Stencil from Hero Arts, some Spring Green Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, a few die cuts and a sentiment from the MFT Queen for a Day set.
Yep, it’s a shaker card. Love making shaker cards! My friend had some “sand” embossing powder from Hero Arts that I used. That stuff is amazing.
My friend and I were showing another friend lots of fun ways to make cards. She just retired, so wanted to give her something to do that is fun and encourages her, as well as those she shares her cards with. Definitely a great time.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today!
Had fun making this card. I took an alcohol ink background that I did a while back, found some vellum and card stock that were close to one of the colors in the background and had some fun with a Hero Arts stamp set.
The colors don’t show up nearly as well in the picture as they do in person. And embossing on Yupo paper, even quickly and far away, causes a bit of bend. Oops!
Thanks for taking a look!
Just going to show you a card I made yesterday and posted on my own blog.
Thanks for spending some time looking at my work! ~Golda
