golden webs

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/05/may-anything-halloween.html

For this card I got my inspiration from the lower right section of the inspiration photo. For the gold webs I found a piece of gold vellum in my stash. Not knowing if embossing vellum would work, I thought why not give it a try. Looking at the embossed vellum it seemed a little too bright so I used a cotton ball and black stamp pad to soften it. Large spiders are an old Sizzix sisslet die, small spiders are from a Quick Cuts die. Looking at the cut spiders I had the brilliant idea to cover them with silver Wink of Stella then used stickles for creepy eyes on the large ones. All spiders are popped up with Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay healthy and safe.

  1. Lovely texture, I like the use of the gold and how you toned it down a bit too. If spiders don’t have googly eyes are they really spiders? lol FUN!

  2. OMG if spiders could be ‘cute’ these would certainly qualify! LOL Awesome card! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back each month. Remember, if we have 50+ entries, (you can enter THREE times), we will give a PRIZE.

  3. Love your golden spider web and the spiders. Great ideas to soften the gold and shine on the spiders.

  4. Softening the gold piece and adding the googly eyes to the bigger spiders was genius thinking. It is a great card Gerry.

  5. Now that is a fun web card, Gerry! Great job on it. Though seeing that many spiders on a web would definitely have me not happy.

  6. Gerry, too funny that you used this embossing folder. I have been looking for this exact same one for a month now and I can’t find it! LOL!!!!! Love your spiders, I think you and I started collecting at the same time. I think I have those spiders too. LOL!!!

Thanks so much for playing with us at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge!
