I finally received my curbside order from Joann’s after a four week wait and I was anxious to play with the Hero Arts Color Layering Waves stamp set and Beach Frame Fancy Die. The three ocean stamps are pretty easy to line up and stamp in my Misti. I did think that the stamps would have been a little longer in size. So I inked up in Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass for the base wave, then GKD’s Powder Blue for the next wave and finally my darkest blue of Navy for the final wave. My sand was created by painting on some white Gesso, then used a gold metallic rub on and finally kraft ink to fill in the spots. The sky was GKD’s coral reef, tumbled glass and salty ocean. I added some sea birds from GKD’s By The Sea, flip flops from Hello Sunshine and lightly sponged coral reef onto Sunshine stencil and mounted on Coral Sea cardbase.
This card will be entered into Sunday Stamps color challenge to use a minimum of 3 colors from their graphic below and any neutral.
Pretty colors for this challenge and hoping for a day visit to the Jersey shore soon.

This is gorgeous! Glad they arrived, finally.
Thanks, Lisa, this was my second attempt.
Beautiful – I’m ready for the beach. No beaches on the Mississippi.
Thanks, Judy, LOL
Love your beach scene! Your sand looks so real. (4 week to wait for your order – yikes!!)
Thanks, Lisa, My Joann’s is definitely not the most efficient store but all of the Hero Arts I ordered were on their store shelves. Picking it up was a fiasco too.
Good thing you were not holding your breath on that one. You have captured summer and the challenge in one terrific scene.
Thanks, Bonnie, that die made the scene easier for me.
Wow – when you get busy you get busy and create some really great cards. This is exceptional! Four weeks for an order is a long time but I can beat it as my 2 SSS orders are stuck in customs and I ordered one of those packages in late April. I’ve reached a point of just sighing and hoping for the best.
LOL, I know Johanna. I had Sunday to myself and enjoyed making cards and playing in challenges. I hope the border opens soon so you can pick up your SSS.
Ohmygosh Gayle this is so beautiful!! I can just hear the soft ocean sounds.
Gorgeous, Gayle – that die overlay is perfect! Love those little flip-flops, lol, a wonderful seaside scene! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
Gayle, this is fantastic!
Wow, this is so beautiful! I think it was worth the waite! lol I love your ocean scene. Looks like a piece to frame! Thanks so much for playing along with the Summer Vibes challenge at Sunday Stamps! 🙂
