It’s Trend Week at Just Us Girls. The trend is to use a black background. The big, solid floral corner from A Big Hello by Gina K Designs was stamped in Unicorn White ink by Hero Arts. I let it sit all day to make sure it was dry, the colored with Prisma pencils: PC908 Grass Green, PC912 Apple Green for the stems and leaves, PC923 Scarlet Lake and PC925 Crimson Lake for the flowers. I added dots around the stems and leaves with a white gel pen. The sentiment from Wild Blossom also from Gina K Designs, was stamped twice in Barn Door Distress Oxide ink, then once with Unicorn White which I thought gave a pretty good match to the flowers. I added a Red Velvet border, then used a white card base. This was a fun challenge and now I have another birthday card for my stash.

Love the dots and pretty much everything else. I bet the red on white base makes this very elegant?
Thanks Bonnie. Yes the red really does make a nice border. The picture doesn’t do it justice.
Beautiful card! Love the color you created with the flowers and sentiment.
Thanks Lisa. Getting the color scheme worked out was a bit of a challenge too.
Judy, this is beautiful! You did a great job with it and the way you did your sentiment really does make it work wonderfully with your beautiful flowers.
Thanks Golda.
Your card turned out beautifully, Judy. Even on the black your colors really popped on top of the pigment ink.
Thanks Gayle. I really like that white ink on black, and it’s fun to color.
Wow – this is so beautiful. You did a wonderful job on the colouring and I admire your patience in adding the dots.
Thanks Johanna. It was a bit tedious adding the dots, but I thought it really added to the card.
Wow this is so stunning! It really pops on that black background!!!
Thanks Angie. I was really pleased how well the coloring showed up on the white ink.
I think pencil coloring on black looks so sharp and impressive, Judy, and your card proves it. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Us Girls.
Such a beautiful card Judy! The perfect image – and I am a huge fan of the white dots to make everything pop! Vicky x
