My card for the Black Background trend week challenge #527at Just Us Girls didn’t quite turn out as I expected. LOL…I think I may add some more color to my flowers before sending this one out the door. I stamped first in GKD white pigment ink, heat set it then stamped in Wild Lilac. The lilac did not give me as much color as I would have liked to have unfortunately. The stamps set and die is GKD’s Sunshine & Love stampTV kit and the sentiment is Hero Arts Happy Stamp & Cut.
Thanks for stopping in for a look.

Maybe try gold for the strips and bold sentiment and of course splatter in gold? Just a thought, you will get it looking its best, i have no doubt.
I can see why you are not completely happy with this one Gayle, although I quite like it personally. Adding a bit more colour to it would make a difference but it isn’t absolutely necessary.
Thanks, Johanna, I was definitely looking for more color. I may try adding it in colored pencils. Judy and your black background cards were really gorgeous.
Thanks for the tip, Bonnie, I’ll try that gold.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll give that a try.
I like the design. It is nice with the subtle color, but I love bright colors, so a bit more color will jazz it up.
Thanks, Lisa, yes I definitely need more color on this one.
I like the subtle coloring on your flowers, Gayle. If you’re not happy I know colored pencils work wonders on black. I’m just glad that you shared your card with us at Just Us Girls.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Bobby. Your challenges at Just Us Girls are always fun.
I think this turned out beautifully! I love the softness of the lilac over the white on this beautiful design. Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!
Thanks so much for your sweet comments, Susan, and the challenge.
I love the effect you got from over-stamping in lilac Gayle and think it would be perfect as a sympathy card. For your Happy Thoughts greeting you could always add more intense colour with coloured pencils if you liked! Vicky x
Thanks so much for your tips and comments, Vicky, I will try the colored pencils. It was another great JUGS challenge.
It may not have the color you intended, but it is pretty.
