Floral Hello

I used the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches for this card.

This die is new this week. It is one I selected for my husband to give me for my birthday. It is Stampin Up Sending Flowers Die. I think it was a sale-a-bration set from a couple of years ago, but we found it new on my demonstrators website. I cut the main circle of the set with Shaded Spruce cardstock. It cuts the circle with leaves and flowers. Then there are flower dies which I cut with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry cardstock. I used glue dots to apply the flowers, then used Nuvo drops for the centers. The greeting was cut with one of the dies in the set. I used a Hero Arts set called Everyday Sayings for the greeting. I am learning the die and all I can do with it, but am pleased so far.

This will be entered in: http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2023/04/challenge-508-colors.html

I will share the other card made using this set of dies. This is for a color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.

These colors are Parakeet Party, Fresh Freesia, and Calypso Coral. I used glue dots on this one as well.

Thanks for spending time with me.

Watering Can Hello

I have been enjoying using new product this week. This card uses a set from Simon Says Stamp called Joys of Spring.

The leaves behind the can are a die from The Stamps of Life. They may be the first time I have used it, but it has been in my stash for a couple of years. The watering can and butterfly both came from the SSS set which came with matching dies. The embossing folder is Stampin Up. I use this cloud folder quite a bit.

The can and butterfly were watercolored with Stampin Up markers. The colors used are Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce, and Melon Mambo. The leaves are also Shaded Spruce.

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure? https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2023/04/anything-goes-with-twist-of-clouds.html

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my card. I am enjoying using product that has been in my stash or is new, but I hadn’t had a chance to use it. The SSS set was purchased recently with a good sale price. I like sales.

Balloon Wishes

After watching, Mindy Eggen’s recent YouTube video, I was inspired to CASE her card and technique for overlapping colors with stencils. The stencil I used was Balloon Party from Taylored Expressions. This is a layering stencil & clear stamp combo using the largest balloon and well I was quite surprised that they all look lined up correctly. LOL. I then did partial embossing using a Darice clouds embossing folder and lightly inking with some blue ink left over on a brush. The grass was die cut with The Cat’s Pajamas CutUps grass die and Gina K Designs word die while stamping wishes from a GKD stamp set Garden Silhouettes after completing stamp surgery. The butterfly is American Crafts’ Garden Party dimensional sticker.

I’ll be sharing my card today with:

Can You Handle The Pressure? An Anything goes challenge with the requirement to use requires an embossing folder and an optional theme of CLOUDS.

pocket change

https://cardsbygerry.blogspot.com/

Hello and welcome. It feels so good to have the COVID symptoms pretty much gone and getting back to creating.

Today’s card is for our grandson who just moved from his parents’ home to his own apartment. We figured he could use a little cash getting set up. Actually, there will be more than $1 in there. lol

The pocket is computer clip art that I printed on in my Hallmark card program then fussy cut. Background piece was run through a stripes ef by The Paper Studio then I lightly sponged Night of Navy stamp pad so it wasn’t such a stark white. Corner grommets are from my stash. I haven’t used grommets for so long I forgot I even had them.

Thanks for stopping by your visits really mean a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Wicked & Stormy

I felt inspired by the Two Old Bats mood board for April and Anything Halloween but I had to put my thinking cap on once again. My card is not too dark nor too wicked and was really fun to make this background. I made my lightning strikes by following Frenchie Stamps lighting technique. I used glue in a fine tip bottle to draw my lightning strikes on shimmer white cardstock, then added white embossing powder and heat set. To add a little interest, Frenchie recommends inking some yellow and pink in the beginning of the lighting. The stamped images were definitely oldies but goodies. The clouds are Cornish Heritage Farms large cloud, Outlines Rubber Stamp Company grasses, Inkadinkadoo Halloween Trails for my witch and sentiment from Gina K Designs Wicked stamp set. The background was inked in grays, charcoal and some blue and a few clouds were stamped in white pigment ink (I think my pad needs to be reinked).

Pastel Easter

An Easter card for a sweet grand-friend of mine using pastel colors of a little yellow, a little orange, a little green. Stamped and colored in my bunny then fussy cut it and mounted on an oval piece of vellum The patterned paper was from a paper pad that I cut apart. This super cute card will be shared with:

Embossed Butterflies

My card today was made for Day 7 of my OnLineCard Class Stenciled 2 in which we were instructed to add a stamped image through the stencils. For my stenciled portion, I used SimonSaysStamps Mix & Match circles, ink blended and the flipped the stencil and ink blended in a darker shade. After the ink was completely dry, I replaced the stencil and stamped the butterfly image from Stampin Up’s Hoppy Easter in versamark and white embossing powder and heat set. I added a Gina K Designs word die and stamped sentiment to a piece of vellum and a few punched butterflies. Lots of different techniques for this OCC class. It was fun to particiapte.

My card today will be shared with the April Stencil Fun Challenge to use a stencil with a theme of PATTERNS.

April Showers

I was inspired to make today’s card with two different challenges in mind. The Double D Challenges is an April Showers theme and Cardz for Galz is looking for an easel card.

I don’t make a lot of easel cards but was ready to give it a go. Using Gina K Designs patterned papers and Warm Spring Wishes stamp set for the umbrella image and sentiment, a Frame in Frame 3 from Taylored Expressions die, I created my easel using different patterned papers, adding the white frame, stamped, colored & fussy cut the umbrellas as well as fussy cutting an additional chick with rainboots from the patterened paper which was popped up completes my card today.

Easter Tulips

I have a tulip card I made for Easter.

https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2023/03/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html

I used the SU set called Blessed Easter. This was purchased nearly 10 years ago. It came as a single wood block stamp with the greeting attached to the tulip. I separated the images making two separate stamps. I often use the tulips for birthday cards during the Spring. I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color the tulips. I chose Gina K Designs Artists Choice paper for the images. The argyle layer is Echo Park patterned paper. I used an SU embossing folder for the border.
