halloween trellis

Hello and welcome. Since I’ve really enjoyed making trellis cards, I thought that design would could make a cool Halloween card. I found the patterned paper across the top panel online then saved it to my Halloween file. For this card I just resized it. I started thinking the “planks” would look pretty cool cut from distressed wood pp. So of course I Googled Distressed wood background paper and found just what I wanted. Skull is a sticker I found in my stash, bats, spiders, ghost are die cuts also found in my stash. I added red stickles to the bats, yellow to the spiders and black to the ghost’s eyes. Top of ghost is popped with double pop dots, other images just have single pop dots.

All About You Silhouette

This card came about as a CASE from the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper, Tammy. I chose a card of here that has masking, ink blending, and a stamped floral. I kept the masking, ink blending and floral but used different colors and stamps.

I ink blended Lovely Lavender, by Gina K Designs, into a rectangle in the center. I used Meadow by Inkadinkadoo for the floral. The greeting is a Stampin Up set called Expressions of Friendship. The Less is More Challenge is to use light purple and black on a card. I think my camera made the lavender look a bit pink, but it is lavender in real life.

My card will be entered in the Less is More Challenge: https://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2023/06/challenge-485-colours.html

It is a lovely sunny day here. I love the sunshine and hope to walk outside and enjoy a bit of it. Thanks for spending a little time with me looking at my card.

Shellgame 9m 24s

Ready, set, wait…..think, plan and then go! It’s speed stamping challenge time to create a card project under 10 minutes and this month’s theme with the As You Can See It Challenge group is Seashells.

I gathered a piece of Recollections designer paper from my stash, fern/foilage stamps from Taylored Expressions’ Simple Silhouettes and Gina K Designs Warm With Love stamp sets. Chose a sentiment from GKD’s Gifts from the Sea stamp set, Hero Arts Seashells fancy dies, Spellbinder’s Classic circles nestabilities die and a piece of vellum. Now Ready Set Go!

After stamping using my Misti and GKD Dark Sage ink, off to my die cutting machine to die cut the shells and vellum circle., back to my desk to use whatever inks were on some brushes for my shells and then decided the background needed something extra and picked up a spray…why oh why did I not take time to chose something different than Tart Cranberry Mica Stain. The first shot hit my sentiment and then decided to try again on the bottom left corner. Too late to do anything else as the clock was ticking. Added my seashells on the vellum circle, then decided I needed a black layer so cut down the focal layer much to my cutters dismay as it now has tart cranberry on it. Layered the focal on black then on card base and added three cute little turquoise shells from Recollections Mermaid Mix sequins mix. Completed the challenge in 9 minutes and 24 seconds and only took 30 minutes to clean everything up.

My card will be shared with the always fun timed challenge with:

you’re the zest

Hello and welcome. I found the idea for today’s card on Pinterest.

Lemons are from an online coloring page colored with Copic’s and fussy cut. You’re the zest image was also found online then cut with Die-namics stitched circles die. Circle is popped up. Since my brain doesn’t do well with measurements and spacing this took me a couple tries but I’m very happy with the end result.

Sweet Lemons

My card pack from Simple Stories and lemon stamps have not left my work space this week. I colored an image last night, finished it today, then completed a card. This will be entered in several challenges.

The patterned paper is Simple Stories–Simple Vintage Lemon Twist. It is featured as the gingham layer and behind the window. The window was die cut using a Memory Box die. I used the partial die cut technique as the window die only has 4 panes. I needed a larger window, so it was cut in 3 pieces and placed together to make it large enough for the window box. Then I ran the cut window through the SU Pinewood Planks embossing folder and ink blended Dark Chocolate ink over it. I added the turquoise pattern for sky. The window box and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp You Shine stamp set. The card base is from My Favorite Things cardstock.

The embossing allows me to add to Can you Handle the Pressure? I chose not to use the wedding theme.

I used a die, so I will add this to Cardz for Galz #201:

I enjoyed finishing this card today. It is a beautiful Spring day here quickly reaching Summer temperatures. I enjoy the longer days and sunshine. Thanks for spending part of your day with me.

Strawberries & Cream

The local farms’ strawberries are ready for picking which inspired me to make this card. Taylored Expressions Berry Sweet layering stencil and clear stamp combo was used for my focal panel. Distress Oxide inks was use for my stencling which worked very well on the light pink colored cardstock. The card base which is the same color as the focal panel was stamped using SimonSaysStamp’s Gingham background stamp and the three fussy cut berries and sentiment are Gina K Designs You’re the Sweetest stamp set (still on my desk from 2 cards ago…LOL). A little bit of wink of stella for sparkle, a few enamel dots and the Waffle Flowers Lacy Layers A2 dies complete my card today.

The optional June theme with Stencil Fun is layering stencils. I’ll be sharing my card with:

Peachy Keen

The June color of the month challenge is PEACH! YUMMY!! However instead of using the fruit I decided to just use the color peach. I decided on a Catherine Pooler/Gina K Designs collaboration Stamp of Approval Beautiful World stamp to create my focal in GKD’s Peach Bellini ink. My cardstock is also GKD’s Just Peachy but was too lightweight for a card base so die cut it after stamping it with Taylored Expressions Linen background stamp in the peach bellini ink I added it to a white cardbase. The TE sentiment was stamped and die cut and off set slightly with a little Just Peachy cardstock, too. Then I colored a little Color Me Crazy dragonfly that was a prize from a Double D Things that Fly challenge.

I will be sharing my card today with

crowning birthday

Hello and welcome. The idea for today’s card was found on Pinterest.

There’s a little story behind this one that I’ll get to in a minute. All papers are Stampin Up, die used is Spellbinders Classic Diamonds, sentiment was printed on the computer, crown is computer clip art with small clear gems from my stash, stars are from a small hand punch with Wink of Stella added.

Here’s the story: Our granddaughter did the first semester of her sophomore year of college in New Zeeland. When she met her new “mates” she told them she was Junior Miss Minnesota and they believed her. After she told us that, hubby told me I should somehow use that for her birthday card. So, I thought it definitely needed a crown on it and the inside sentiment just says, “Happy Birthday to the former Junior Miss Minnesota.” I’m not entirely happy with it but she’ll like it.

Slim Birthday Shaker

I don’t do a lot of slim line card or a lot of shaker cards, but one of the classes in my Taylored Expressions Virtual Stamp Joy 2023 class was to make a card using both of these usually don’t dos. The mini slimline card panel was masked off to create an inside portion that was ink blended and then using a Party Popper TE stencil and a heavier hand stenciled the same colors over the ink blended background. The HB sentiment was stamped in TE’s Oreo ink and then the Mini Slim Infinity Shaker panel was added. I actually remembered to add the star shaker bits before sealing the 4th side of the acetate panel. Mounted it on some teal card stock from Michaels to complete my card.

Today I will be sharing my card with the challenge at:
