Light blue & navy

This started out as a finished card I found in my stash of cards to be finished.  Maybe because it was on such flimsy cardstock I thought I would do something else with it.  I trimmed the card front and added an In the Navy Mat and put on a Powder Blue CB. The snowflakes are from various GKD sets. The sentiment is from the Sparkling Christmas kit from 2015. I was delighted to discover that it works for the Color Hues Challenge to use Light Blue and Navy. Another card for my 2024 stash.

Word Art with Sketch

I was asked about how to use the Bible Verse on the Word Art Wednesday blog. I helped the person then decided to actually use the verse and see what I could create.

This sketch is from Crafty Al December, 2023. I used Gina K Designs stamps, patterned paper, cardstock, and ink for this card. I used the frame from Christmas Wishes. I chose this frame as I received a stamped one in the mail; each month I have received an image to color but this time, the person sent stamped images. I printed the verse on my laser printer, than stamped the wreath on the printed verse. The printing was not as dark as I like, so I traced it with a thin line marker. The patterned paper is Watercolor Garden and the cardstock is lemon yellow and the red is possibly red velvet; my reds are all stored together so I am not sure exactly which red it is.

A new year! I hope to continue to create and share my cards this year. I often create more than I post. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate each of you.

mn vikings

Hello, welcome and Happy New Year.

Yes, another fractured sports card. Again, paper and image were found online. I wasn’t sure how it would look having the narrow vertical strip next to the image and the opposite for the horizontal strips, but I like it. This is a fun card to make for your sports fans. This is my last fractured sports card for a while……maybe.

Thanks for stopping by and spending time with me. I really appreciate it. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

MN Wild

Hello and welcome. I’m back with sports fractured #2. This will go to our son as a ‘just because’ card. Again, pp and logo were found online, die cut is Stitched Squares by Die-namics. I added the M & W to the image. These cards are so fun make. Next up will be the MN Vikings.

Thanks for spending your time with me. I really appreciate it. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

fractured experiment

Hello and welcome. Today’s card came about because I wanted to make a fractured card a little different than my other ones. Then I started thinking I’d like to use a foil background and since the Las Vegas Raiders colors are black & silver it became a sports card. Hubby was a little surprised because I am not a football fan, but he liked it. I found the Raiders logo online, sized and printed it to fit this Stitched Sqaure by Die-namics. Placed the die cut in the center then added the strips. Now hubby thinks I should make some with different sports teams. Our grandson-in-law is a MN Viking’s fan and our son is a MN Wild hockey fan. Now my little brain has to wake up.

Thanks for stopping by and spending time with me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

masculine birthday

Hello and welcome. Both yesterday and today’s cards are for Jan. 4th birthdays. Today’s card is for our youngest granddaughter’s boyfriend.

I didn’t realize it when I chose the colors, but these are his old high school colors. Embossing folder used is Happy Birthday by Cuttlebug, die cuts are Spellbinders Labels and are popped up. Cross strips were cut with my antique photo paper cutter. Sentiment was printed on the computer. Another very quick and easy card. I now see that I should have embossed the yellow strip… my bad.

Thanks for stopping by to spend some of your time with me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

happy birthday

Hello and welcome. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year.

Yup, another fractured card. This one is for one of our granddaughters. Patterned paper is from my “old” stash. Die used is Stitched Squares by Die-namics, sentiment was printed on the computer, candles are computer clip art. The next fractured card I make will have a little different look.

Thanks for stopping by I appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Last but not Least

One last Christmas card for my hubby. I didn’t think we were exchanging cards this year because he’s still recovering from that knuckle replacement surgery and is pretty much in a one handed, non dominate handed state. He didn’t think he would make it to the store to but a card for me so I told him I wouldn’t make one for him. We exchange cards on every occasion. So he walked to the nearby CVS and found a card for me. Then I had to laugh over his outrage at the price of a Hallmark card!!! I told him when he has both hands back he needs to go to the “elf room” and make his own cards in the future.

Using some plaid papers from my supplies and Tim Holtz dies this “winter snow scene”  The black oval piece has some stars printed on it (hard to see) so Santa flying through the night sky over some winter trees makes this a winter/snow scene for me.

My card will be shared with Double D Challenges: Winter/Snow Scene challenge

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

d-o-s Christmas

Hello and welcome. Since I didn’t make dear-old-sister a chuckle card this month I decided on a snarky Christmas card. Image and sentiment “I’ve been watching you all year and you’re not naughty… you’re sick in the head” were found online. Since this strange sense of humor runs in our family d-o-s loved it.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by your visits mean a lot to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.
