Dancin’ Bones

An arched shaped card today for the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge – Februrary 2024. I always like to play along with the mood board provided on challenges and the theme for this month is skeletons and love. I still wanted to be able to mail this card for Halloween without being totally a Valentine theme so this is what I came up with today. Dancing skeletons that are possibly from a Recollections red rubber stamp set from Michael’s. Also used in my card project is: Inkadinkadoo bird branch, SimonSaysStamp Boo Day sentiment, Taylored Expressions, Spooky Night layering stencil and Arched Stacklets dies. Tiny hearts for the dancing skeletons, too.

My card will be share with:

Pink’d

Gina K Designs Light, Medium and Dark Carnation pink inks were blended over a SimonSaysStamps A2 rectangle mask stencil to create my background for my Wild Garden Border silhouette image from Rubbernecker stamps. A small dragonfly from one of my favorite GKD sets Dreams Take Flight and sentiment also from GKD’s So Many Sentiments completed my pink themed card today. The Rubbernecker stamp Wild Garden Border is so old!!!! How old is it???? Well this is a red rubber stamp that I never removed the backing paper and it was stuck on so tightly, I was peeling little bits and pieces off at a time so I could at least use some tape runner to stick it to my misti door. This was only a section of this large 5-1/2″ stamp that hopefully I will use again and again.

My card today will be shared with the following challenges:

Colorful Images: February 2024 – Color PINK Love Barbie!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay warm.

Ribbon Heart

Hello and welcome. The idea for today’s card came from Pinterest. The cards I saw had strips of pp paper under the cut-out heart but when I looked at my ribbon stash on the wall, I thought why not use ribbon. After printing the sentiment and cutting the heart, SU’s Sweet & Sassy Framelits, I ran the cs through the SU hearts ef. Small hearts are hand punched from glitter paper.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Smiley Face Valentine

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our 14-year-old great-grandson. Now all 5 great-grandkids are taken care of. I saw this layout on Pinterest, minus the smiley hearts. Center strip was embossed with Stampin Up’s dots ef., punched hearts are SU Sweet & Sassy framelits, pp from my stash, smiley hearts are computer clip art. This was really quite easy.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate your time. Have a great day and stay healthy, safe & warm.

Masculine Valentine

Hello and welcome. I’m making 2 of these, for our 24-year-old grandson and 18-year-old great-grandson. The idea for this one is from perusing Pinterest. Wood pp is from my stash. I scored it every 1/2″ then used a fine point Sharpie to blacken the score lines. You can tell that’s what I did by how wonky they are. Large heart is from the Silhouette, small heart is a hand punch. Both hearts were run through a stripe ef. Sentiment label is a no name die I bought on Amazon and it’s popped up. Small heart and label were edged with a sponge dauber and black stamp pad.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy, safe & warm.

Birthday Dots

My card today was made using Taylored Expressions Dots of Diamonds embossing folder and TE’s Easy Strips 1/4″ Patterns Dies, a Sizzix embossing folder and lots of pink with a touch of orange. The dots on the embossing folder and the sentiment on the embossed circle die were all ‘very, very carefully’ inked with a pink marker. I believe that the sentiment must have been part of other embossing folders from Sizzix but it seems to have lost it’s companions.

I am planning on sharing my card with:

Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge We are challenged to use an embossing folder with a twist of birthdays.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay warm.

Wolf Birthday Card

I purchased a used, but not really used set called Wolf, by Stampin Up. The main wolf image reminds me of a picture my brother painted, so I made this card with his birthday in mind.

I went to my stash to find the perfect paper for this card. I started with Gina K Designs Ivory CS to stamp the images on. I needed a background and found this piece of SU designer series paper, He’s All That, to place on the Dark Chocolate card base; it was folded and waiting to be used. Soft Succulent from SU matched this DSP, so I cut layers for each piece. This was originally created for the Challenge Your Stash group at SplitcoastStampers where we were challenged to make a masculine birthday card. I am happy with this card and it will mailed next month.

I am adding this to Seize the Birthday and using the Anything Goes option. Thanks for stopping by.

Get Well

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our oldest granddaughter who is having thyroid surgery. I saw a card on Pinterest with this sentiment and similar images. The images are all computer clip art and I added the smiley face to the bottle. Frame was embossed with Stampin Up’s Seaside ef. That’s the only ef folder with lines I have that would fit a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of cardstock. Inside say’s ‘And a speedy, uneventful recovery’ and a little personal note. Another very easy card.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy, safe & warm.

G is for Grandma’s house

This week my destination in the alphabet challenge was the letter G. Once again, my husband helped me with a destination. My grandmother was an avid quilter and crochet many items. I learned to chain stitch with her help then over the years, learned to crochet quite well.

The stamp set used is Altenew Granny Squares. I used Gina K Designs Innocent Pink, Dusty Rose, Tomato Soup, and Fired Brick inks for each row. I used the matching die to cut each square out, then assembled them into a blanket. It was very much like piecing a quilt in the assembly. I chose to leave the greeting off of the card so I can use it when needed.

I have been told to enter this in the Cardz 4 Galz challenge as it matches the colors. I am thrilled to enter in this challenge.
