wwe Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our great-grandson who’s turning 7. When I asked what he is into now his mom said he was into WWE all the way. The picture she sent me was taken after they had been bowling and I thought it was just perfect for this card. The wrestling background and the WWE belt were found online. Images were fussy cut. Sentiment was printed in my Hallmark card program. Fussy cutting the small photo was the most time-consuming part of this card.

Thanks for stopping by I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

embossed Sympathy card

I created a card where I colored the debossed side. The embossing folder is from Spellbinders and is a 3D one.

I used various alcohol markers to color the debossed side. Then I dragged an ink pad over the top using a Lawn Fawn pool color. I decided it could be a sympathy card and used a greeting from Buddie Bonnie that she cut from her Silhouette machine. I made the background a dark gray, after changing the color two times previously, and the top to match the butterfly color. The butterflies match the card base and I cannot remember the color name. It is retired by Stampin Up a year ago.

This will be entered in the Triple B challenge, which I posted from my Splitcoast Stampers account. We have reached our maximum entries here on the blog, so I went there. Here is the challenge I entered it in: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/06/june-2024-challenge.html

My phone says today has a Heat Warning. It is supposed to be 92 which is hot, but not warning hot. Tomorrow is the warning hot day. I plan to get outside and walk before the heat, then I will be back in my craft room doing something. Enjoy your day!

Masculine Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our son-in-law. I found a card like this on Pinterest, you can see here https://www.pinterest.com/pin/342555115424664114/

All papers are Stampin Up. Dies used are stitched squares and stitched circles from Die-namics. Squares are 1 1/2″. Black strips were cut with my antique paper cutter. Sentiment is clip art. I’m very pleased with the end result.

Butterfly Hello

I made a card this week that I will enter in 2 challenges.

I used the Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil and Stamp bundle for the majority of this card. The hello came from Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard die set; I have many and chose one that had a word that would fit. I used a Darice embossing folder for the background. The green cardstock layer is Fresh Asparagus by Gina K Designs. All other paper is Accent Opaque.

I enjoyed creating this card. I followed a layout by Mindy Eggen using my supplies.

Birthday Stars

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for our granddaughter’s 26th birthday. Since she’s always liked sparkly and I saw the Double D challenge was stars, I thought what’s more sparkly than stars.

Background paper was found online, center star was cut from glitter paper on the Silhouette, center die is Stitched Squares by Die-namics. I’ve had that birthday ribbon for years. The small stars are from Detailed Santa Thinlits from Stamipn Up. Before cutting the small stars I added double backed adhesive to the glitter cardstock. In the picture the ribbon that goes to the top and the bottom of the pp looks like a little different color, but it isn’t.

Merry Christmas

Hello and welcome. Another Christmas card done.

Again, patterned paper was found online, and image is clip art, die used is Stitched Ovals by Die-namics. Glitter music notes are a small hand punch. At first, I tried to color a stamped image, but my hands were not cooperating. I like this clip art image because it shows both lantern and music.

Oh So Lovely Thank YOu

I decided to play in the As You See It Challenge #325. Possibly Gayle and Johanna are inspiring me.

When my timer went off, I had 2 minutes and 14 seconds left. That means I used 7 minutes and 45 seconds. Had I realize how much time I had, I may have tried to score between the stamped images and greeting, but I had it together before I looked at the timer.

The stamp set used for the flowers is called Oh So Lovely by Stampin Up. It is a woodblock set and this is the first card I created with it. It was given to me last year, so I put it away and forgot about it. I used SU Petal Pink for the background block and Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud for the flowers and greeting.

Thank you for the encouraging comments. Since summer is here I am walking earlier in the day. It was a nice walk this morning with clear skies and listening to the birds singing.

Speed Thanks

3 – 2 – 1 GO!!! I haven’t played in the As You See It Challenge in quite sometime but after our Buddy Johanna posted her card it inspired me to play along. This is one of my favorite challenges with this group…..SPEED challenge to make a card in 10 minutes of less.

For my card, I used two stamps from Gina K Designs’s All Occasion Flowers stamp set from the Pocketful of Sunshine card kit inking the stamps in first Sea Glass, the second stamp in Blue Lagoon and repeating the first stamp in Tranquil Teal. Stamped the sentiment in black onyx ink. Then to the Big Shot to die cut my whispy greenery, and the focal panel using AI’s Rectangle A2 Double Stitched die, layered on black cardstock and trimmed it down, then added it to a white card base. Final touch was Taylored Expressions Matte Enamel Dots.

Time: 9 minutes 5 seconds. I will admit that I made this design earlier this week for sympathy cards and liked the way it turned out. The sentiment also has a die but I didn’t think I would have time to stamp and die cut.

My card will be shared with this Fun Challenge:

As You See It Challenge: Challenge #325 – Timed Thank You

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool. Temps are hitting mid 90’s next week so hopefully I can spend more time in my “elf room”.
