Summertime 2022

Can You Handle The Pressure

Anything goes embossing with a twist of the beach is the challenge with the Can You Handle the Pressure group. First thing I need for the beach is my chair and an umbrella and of course a pair of flip flops. My required embossed image was made using a Cuttlebug ProvoCraft embossing folder…sorry no name on this one. I lightly sponged some kraft ink on the raised embossed area and mounted it on navy cardstock. The flip flops on my sandy panel and the fussy cut beach chair and umbrella are from Gina K Designs Hello Sunshine stamp set.

Fun challenge as always with this group.

A great weekend which began with a visit to our 4 year old granddaughter and then led to some extra card making from our granddaughter and grandson. Chase made a card for his sister Brooke’s birthday (forgot to take a photo) and our Brooke made these two fun cards.

Love these Grouchy Pets from C C Designs and apparently so does Brooke. The poodle is cotton candy colored and the slim line card is for when Brooke feels extra sassy. She did a great job. She’s double digits today….omg growing up too quickly. It was a great weekend for us .

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool.

Purple-Blue-Green

Hello and welcome.

After watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGFDhrTDhr8 I thought that might be fun to try. Problem was, I didn’t have the right ribbons, so I just used cs strips. After they were all adhered and run through a Sizzix swirl ef I realized I ended up with the debossed side. Oh well, that works. The frame was cut on the Silhouette then I scored it for a little texture. Sentiment was printed on the computer.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Christmas Truck

https://peaceonearthchristmas.blogspot.com/2022/07/peace-on-earth-challenge-20.html

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card will be entered at Peace On Earth challenge. As you can see, I decided to go with the truck in the inspiration photo. Pp was found online, truck is computer clip art, snowflakes are a stamp in Seasonal Sentiments by Gina K. Oval frame is Stitched Ovals by Die-namics. There was a little issue with the license. The photo had 2019 so I had to clone that out to put 2022. Cloning on small areas is a bit of a challenge but I kind of like doing it just to prove to myself I can.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Birthday Pocket

Hello and welcome.

Today’s card is for one of our grandson-in-laws. I saw a card like this on Pinterest and thought it would work well for him. Background paper is a small piece from my stash. It seemed to need a little dimension, but I thought an embossing folder might be too much pressure, so I scored every 1/4″ across then edged it with black to give the illusion of a mat. Pocket is from my Silhouette. It was cut with both denim print paper and white cs to give it some stability. It looked to clean & neat, so I sort of distressed the edges. Surprisingly I found the brads in my stash. Sentiment die is Stitched Ovals by Die-namics, happy birthday stamp is Gina K’s Birthday Blessings set. Both pocket and die cut are popped up. We will be putting more than a 1$ bill in it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Peace on Earth Challenge #20

The new Anything Christmas challenge with the Peace on Earth group has another intriguing mood board for inspiration and I was drawn to the buffalo plaid. Using my The Crafters Workshop Buffalo Plaid stencil, I blended black soot Distress ink on red cardstock, adding a black panel and Taylored Expressions A2 thin frame cutting plate for my red border. White heat embossed the sentiment which is from Gina K Designs’ Holiday Tags set, SimonSaysStamp’s Sensational Snowflake die and reindeer die from my stash were cut in white shimmer cardstock from my Michael’s. This looks like a good masculine card but I really kind of like it.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and STAY COOL! Yikes, it’s out in Pennsylvania!!

faBooLous Ghosts

I created a Halloween card today. It was so fun to take out images that I created last year and had left over.

I love the mood board at the Two Old Bats Challenge and the ghosts captured my attention. These ghosts were punched from the SU Tulip Builder Punch. The eyes were punched from the Owl Builder Punch. They needed a background, so my daughter, who has a large collection of Halloween stamps and accessories, came to the rescue with a Cuttlebug Web embossing folder. I inked it with Gina K Designs White Pigment ink. The greeting is from a Paper Smooches set called Ghoul Friends.

This was a fun card to create. Thanks for stopping by.

Guest Designing

I was selected to be a guest designer for the Retro Rubber Challenge. I made two cards using the challenge details.

The challenge is tic tac toe! I love birds, die cutting, embossing, patterned paper, and anything else available on the board. It was a tough decision deciding where to begin.

The circle card follows the top row across. I used The Stamps of Life toucan2stamp with matching die from August 2019. The flowers are from the same set. The stick for the toucan to stand on was a die from Hero Arts in a kit also from 2019. The scalloped circle is from a Sizzix die. I used a stencil from Taylored Expressions, which was new in 2021. The circle card base was created using the largest Sizzix circle die. The stencil used for the card base was A Starry Night by Hero Arts. I used Gina K Designs ink to blend the stencils in Key Lime and Blue Raspberry.

I like the Retro Rubber Challenges because it gives me new ideas for my older stamps and supplies. It helps me shop my stash.

This card was fun to create as I love tropical images and own quite a few. I followed the second column for this card. The stamped images are all from Catherine Pooler Designs Toucan Do It, March 2219. All were colored with alcohol inks and fussy cut. The embossed background is SU Layered Leaves, very retired. I used GKD Key Lime and Fresh Asparagus cardstock for the background and card base.

I enjoyed guest designing for Retro Rubber Challenge. Thank you for the opportunity.

B, B and Dragonflies

The Sisterhood of Crafters

Butterflies, Bees and Dragonflies is the challenge theme with The Sisterhood of Crafters and you may use one, two or all three. What are the chances that I would have an old Inkadinkadoo red rubber mounted stamp in my stash that really has Butterflies, Bees and Dragonflies! I opted to stamp them on Gina K Designs Watercolor Floral patterned paper pad then use the spotlight technique to highlight one dragonfly. The dragonfly was stamped and colored with KaiserCraft gel pens and a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. Waffle Flowers A2 lacy layers dies were used to die cut my panels and SU circle punches.

I added a sentiment from Gina K Designs’ So Many Sentiments included in the Watercolor Spring kit and then wasn’t sure if I wanted or needed a sentiment. Here is the card without the sentiment.

What’s do you all think? I didn’t adhere the sentiment yet as I am curious what you suggest.

Thanks so much for taking a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and STAY COOL!
