Pumpkin Plaid

Double D Challenges – Octoberfest

Crafting Happiness Challenge 135 Halloween all month long

I made this card for an orange and black challenge only to realize that it required an embossing folder!!! So not to let a perfectly good Halloween card go to waste I found that it would also be acceptable for the Double D Challenges of Octoberfest and a new to me challenge Crafting Happiness Challenge 135 Halloween all month long. Thanks to our buddy Lisa K for letting me know about the Crafting Happiness Challenge blog.

My background is a Concord & 9th Woven Plaid background stamp and the pumpkins are Stampin Up’s Fall Fest stamp set with the sentiment from Gina K Designs Haunts & Harvest.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Boo Flies

There are several challenges with a Halloween theme that I will be sharing today’s card.

Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenge Challenge #10 is a Spooktacular anything Halloween with a dragonfly twist. I enjoy trying to included the dragonfly twist with this challenge and have included 3 dragonflies from my go to Gina K Designs Dreams Take Flight stamp set.

Stencil Fun with the Crazy is our fame – STENCILS are our game October challenge with a Halloween Colors theme as well as the required stencil. So of course Halloween colors seem to be broadening and I do enjoy adding some lime green to my Halloween cards along with some black. On today’s card I inked my background with some distress oxide inks then added Pretty Pink Posh’s layered Clouds Stencil over the blended background to makes some spooky sky clouds.

Four Seasons Challenge is October Anything Goes Fall and the mood board included a foggy Halloween night that I used for inspiration on my background.

Make the Cards Challenge #65 is Halloween so I die cut some SimonSaysStamp Ghosts from black and white layering them for some dimension, added the SimonSaysStamp BOO die with shadow on a vellum circle. A little splatter of Copic Opaque White ink completed my card. I was also inspired by Mindy Eggen’s recent Pretty Pink Posh post for my sky inspiration.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

don’t worry

Hello and welcome. Hope you’ve had a good week.

Today’s card is for my sister-in-law. The sentiment “Don’t worry about getting old… Worry about thinking old.” was found somewhere online. Before printing the image, another online find, I used a cotton ball and Bashful Blue stamp pad to create a light sky, then I used Smokey Slate to create kind of a lane. Hubby & I both can see his sister riding a scooter. This was indeed a very quick and easy card.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Stencil In Pink

I was working on a cut out for my Halloween cards and this image was part of the pieces. I cut this larger size out of cs on the Silhouette and used it as a stencil with hot pink stencil butter. I also used the image to cut a smaller version to add black gesso through paper stencil on the envelope. Frame with squares was also created and printed from Silhouette. After trimming and backing the pieces with cs all was mounted on white cs base. The pink butter has a wonderful shimmer that does not photograph at all.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/10/october-anything-halloween.html

While going through my Halloween stash the embossed spider web panel fell on my desk then the two die cut spider webs fell on top of that and I said to myself ‘self, this could make a cool card.’ To my surprise this Halloween washi tape also fell out. Trying to think of what to add I Googled Halloween clip art and found these little monster cuties. Monsters are fussy cut. I think this one will go to our 5 year old great-grandson. I’m entering this is Two Old Bats and Make the Card Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

sPINNING pUMPKIN

https://twooldbatshalloweenchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/10/october-anything-halloween.html

Hello and welcome. Already Oct., where does the time go??

Today’s card is for our 3-year-old great-granddaughter. I think she’ll like watching the pumpkin spin. Again, I found the pp online, pumpkin is from an online coloring page. When printing the two images I reversed one so they would match up back-to-back. Pumpkins are colored with Copic’s and fussy cut. I used Gold Stickles on the hatband buckle. Circle frame is Stitched Circles from Die-namics. I am entering this in Two Old Bats October challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Birthday Cake

I created a one layer card today. The Seize the Birthday challenge is all about a clean and simple card. I added splatter, but I think it will still fit the CAS category.

http://seizethebirthday.blogspot.com/2022/09/seize-birthday-248-clean-and-simple.html

I used two Stampin Up sets for this card: Happy Birthday to You and Go To Greetings. I stamped the images in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The color palette I used is from Splitcoast Stampers CC915 Soft Suede, Pear Pizazz and Pale Papaya. I added a little Mango Melody on the berries and floral centers. I used a water brush to color the image, which give it a much softer tone for the cake.

I haven’t made a CAS card in quite a while. I keep wanting to add more to the card front, cut things out and pop them up, and just turn it into a card that is not CAS. It will mail easily this way.

paw print birthday

Hello and welcome. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it’s been 10 days since my last post. Guess life just got in the way.

Today’s card is for one of our favorite servers who loves her dog. When our daughter was here, I helped her make 2 graduation cards with this fold and I thought it would be fun to do again. You can find Dawn Griffiths video here https://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2013/03/box-card-video-.html.

The pp and dog image were found online. Circles are Die-namics Stitched Circles.

Fruit Wreath

I was inspired to create today, so this is my second card. This card will be entered in three challenges.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2022/09/the-blossom-challenge-eat-your-fruit.html

The Double Trouble challenge is to use a die cut or punch and then you meet Thing 2’s challenge to add woodgrain. They are collaborating with Use Your Stuff which is about woodgrain. Power Poppy challenge is to use fruit or vegetables on your card.

I used the Sizzix/Tim Holtz 3-D Lumber embossing folder on my background. I used a natural colored cardstock from My Favorite Things for the embossing then inked it with Gina K Designs Warm Cocoa ink. I decided a wreath would be a good addition for the die cutting. These dies are from Stampin’Up, called Arrange a Wreath. I placed my fruit image in the middle of the wreath for the Power Poppy challenge. My image is from the set called Feeling Fall. I colored it with alcohol markers a week ago and then left it sit till I was inspired to use it. The greeting came from Gina K Designs Star Flower, which I inked with Slate ink.

I really like how this card turned out. I enjoyed piecing so many products together, which is something I struggle with.
