Hexagon Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for our granddaughter’s boyfriend. Actually, he’s more than a boyfriend, he’s been part of the family for several years. The card shape is from the Silhouette. Colors were decided when I found this plaid pp in my stash. While I was placing the pp I saw the two rectangle frames laying on my desk just like this and I thought that might look kind of cool. The letters were printed on the computer, fussy cut, then I added Glossy Accents. Corner gems are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by I look forward to your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Merry Christmas!

Snow Carolers

This was a fun mass production card. I stamped the Snow Carolers on masking paper and very carefully trimmed around them. There is a matching die set, but I don’t have it, and it leaves a white border around the edge, which I don’t always like. I used Ivory Layering weight cut with the stitched die from Master Layouts 2. I stamped the Snow Carolers on the panel, then placed the mask over them and stamped the Music Background in Soft Stone, then removed the mask. I colored the hats, scarves, etc. with Copics: R27, R29, B00, B01, G03, G14, N0, N3, N5, Y35, YR07, E50, C00. The mat is In the Navy, attached over a Soft Stone Card Base. All products are by Gina K Design except the Noel sentiment which is from Classy Christmas by Sunny Studio.

Milestone Birthday

Hello and welcome. Today’s card is for one of our granddaughter’s. Background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday ef. The 30 with question marks was printed on the computer and cut out with Stitched Circle die by Die-namic’s. Corner circly things are from a small hand punch. Inside sentiment “It seems like just yesterday you were in your 20’s.” After I had come up with the idea of the number 30 with question marks around it that brilliant sentiment just popped into my head in the middle of the night. lol

Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to your visits. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Penguins Welcoming 2023

I had fun coloring the newest free digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs.

I do not make a lot of New Year’s cards. This will go to my swap partner, Michelle. I am participating in a Baker’s Dozen swap at Splitcoast Stampers, which means we swap cards for 13 weeks. This is for week 5.

The image is from Gerda Steiner Designs and it is free: https://gsd-stamps.com/collections/shop-digital-stamps/products/2023-freebie

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils in Gold and Silver. I did add a bit of orange for the beaks. I came back and used a gold pen quite a bit to make the gold brighter. I used Stickles for the hat and scarfs. I am happy with the card. I think Michelle will like it.

The inside is Stampin Up and The Stamps of Life product. This penguin was colored so I added him.

The colors for this card were from the Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I placed it in the gallery for that challenge. It was selected as the favorite last week.

Candy Cane Money Holder

Double D Challenges: Candy Cane (red & white)

A red and white candy cane challenge has been posted on the Double D Challenge blog and I just finished my money cards for the Big Kids for Christmas and there was a candy cane design. I was inspired by our Stamp Buddy Gerry and her gift card holders from earlier in the month. The candy cane patterned paper is from my stash, the candy cane is ephemera from Michael’s and the stamped sections is Catherine Pooler’s Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane stamp set.

Like Gerry, I added some good old cash instead of a gift card inside. They came together easily word to the wise, I stamped a sentiment on the inside flap using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink and it faintly came through the front of my white flap. Thankfully I had “sweet” stamps to cover up that OOPS!

And for good measure, here is another red & white card using more Michael’s ephemera and some foiled pieces left over from a previous card project.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay safe and Merry Christmas to all!

Happy 4th Birthday

Hello and welcome. Sorry it’s been a while since my last post but I’m back now.

Today’s card is for one of our great-granddaughter’s. While trying to decide what to do I thought what little girl doesn’t like unicorns. Unicorn is from and online coloring page colored with Copic’s. The background paper was found online. I masked the unicorn before printing the background and sentiment. For a little sparkle I dropped some Diamond Stickles on a piece of paper and used a toothpick to ad random drops of glitter. When you see it in the light the background just twinkles.

Thanks for stopping by your visits are important to me. Have a great day and stay healthy & safe.

Red and Green

The Sisterhood of Crafters

Traditional Christmas colors is the challenge with The Sisterhood of Crafters blog. For my card, I chose some red plaid patterned paper and Tim Holtz Large Funky Festive dies and Spellbinder’s Joy die made my traditional Christmas colors card come together pretty quickly.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.

Stripes, Dressing up an Animal, Feathers

Here are my samples for three more challenges.

My Jolly Snowman was really pushing the hour time limit. I used a background from Simon Says Stamp called Stripes. It took forever to dry as I inked it at least 3 times using my MISTI. I struggled getting the stripes stamped cleanly. The snowman is from Inkadinkadoo and I have had it for many years. It has stripes on the hat and scarf, so it was perfect for the stripes challenge. I layered it two times. The second oval is hiding a major mistake and didn’t want to start again. The paper color is Soft Succulent. I used the pen gifted me for Christmas for the gold (Thanks Bonnie!). The greeting is a Paper Smooches greeting. I did enjoy this card, even though it took time creating and a long time drying.

Since the penguin helped decorate flamingo, he had to have his place in the spotlight. I used the penguin from The Stamps of Life to get him festive for Winter. The background paper is Gina K Designs. I love this penguin and was thrilled to create with him.

My last challenge for today is Feathers. I used a walrus from Paper Smooches along with the hat and greeting. He gets his feather from Hero Arts already created sitting in my stash. I kept the tag simple with a bit of twine. Some day, this will probably go onto a card as I rarely give gifts these days.

Thanks for sharing in my card. There are three more challenges that I have not created for. I hope to take care of that soon.
