Stamp Happy Day Two Color Layering

Some of Day Two was dedicated to color layering stamps. I own one color layering stamp, HA Color Layering Ice Cream, with ink pads that match.

Ink details: Cone — HA Soft Brown, Cup O’ Joe; Ice Cream Yellow — Lawn Fawn Butter, Lemonade, HA Cantaloupe; Ice Cream Pink — Lawn Fawn Guava, Wild Rose, and HA Red Royal; Ice Cream Green — HA Mint Julep, Gina K Designs Sea Glass, HA Cup O’ Joe.

The sentiment is stamped in Cup O’ Joe. The gems are retired Hero Arts.

One sample in the class, the demonstrator layered a heart behind their stamped images. I chose a circle. I cut the circle from masking paper and used the negative portion to place on the top layer. I sponged the area with HA Tide Pool ink, using a blender brush.

Stamp Happy Day Two Alphabet

Day Two is focusing on Clear Stamps. One part of the class focused on alphabet stamps. I own one set, Hero Arts Happy Letters 6 X 4. I chose a name to stamp on an envelope.

I used a Kraft envelope from Hobby Lobby. I used Hero Arts ink cubes, first stamping in Unicorn White Pigment ink. I was afraid the colored ink would not show well without the white first. They were not doing this step in class. The ink colors used are Red Royal and Ultra Pink. I stamped these with my Misi using the ruler from the Creative Corners to keep the letters straight. Next time I do this, I will choose a name with no matching letters. I drew a frame with a pink gel pen.

Potted Succulent One

I am taking an Online Card Class, called Stamp Happy. This class is using Hero Arts stamps, dies, and other products. Hero Arts was my first love with stamping. It is enjoyable to get back to my stamping roots, so-to-speak. Day 1 class is all about wood mounted stamps. There are three demonstrators bringing ideas today. So far, I have made two cards, using the same stamps.

For the first card, I repeatedly stamped the Potted Succulent stamp, using my stamp positioner, in two colors. I began with Memento Tuxedo Black, then stamped all other succulent images with Memento Flannel Gray. The sentiment is from Power Poppy Sassy Succulents. I couldn’t find a Hero Arts sentiment in my stash that fit.

Card two uses the same stamps, same kind of ink, and same paper. This is the first time this stamp has been inked. I have had it for several months sitting on my desk. I kept looking and wasn’t coming up with anything to use it for, till today, It worked great for the class ideas.

MSC Ombre Stenciled Rose

I used three colors to blend: Seaglass, Ocean Mist, and Key Lime. I used blending brushes. The rose was masked before blending the stencil. After blending, I stamped the rose using my Misti. I chose not to color the rose, as I thought the background had enough color. I chose not to place a greeting on the front. This way, I can use this card for anything needed. All product is Gina K Designs.

Details: Teardrop Stencil, Tropical Blooms stamp set, Seaglass card base, black layer.

MSC Fairy Birthday

I followed directions on Gina K’s video where she made a mask with a die, then stenciled over it. My fairy is close to the white space, so I called it good and colored it.

Details: Foliage Stencil, Jelly Bean Green and Fresh Asparagus inks to blend the stencil, Black Amalgum ink for stamping the fairy and sentiment. The sentiment is from an incentive set that has no name, just 3 greetings and a couple of hearts. I used The Stamps of Life stitched rectangle die. The card base is Turquoise Sea to match the coloring of the fairy.

WWII Vet Card

I am playing along with two challenges at Split Coast Stampers. One is the Teapot Challenge which comes out on Tuesdays. This week’s challenge is to create a birthday card for a WWII Veteran who will be turning 93 in April. They challenged each person to use red, white, and blue. I used this week’s sketch in creating this card.

Details: GKD cardstock in Kraft, Blue Denim, Red Hot, and Layering Weight White. Fiskars star punch. Sizzix drop-in Happy Birthday die. SU Lucky Stars embossing folder.

I enjoyed making this card. I will place it in the mail tomorrow.

Hydrangea with Gingham

Hydrangea with popped up flowers and leaves

I used an beloved stamp, SU Stippled Hydrangea, retired long ago. The cardstock is Vibrant Violet from Gina K Designs. The gingham is from Sending Love patterned paper, Gina K Designs. I used The Stamps of Life Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the flower and the gingham cardstock. I colored the flower with Spectrum Noir blender markers. These are new markers with three colors in one, that are easy to blend together. I decided to pop up a few flowers, so I found matching cardstock, stamped the image or portions of the image, and fussy cut them and popped up with foam adhesive.

Double Dutch Fold Card

I have been seeing Double Dutch Fold cards in several places recently and wanted to give it a try. I used a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers along with a blog post and You Tube videos.

Details: SU Blessed Easter for tulip image, colored with Spectrum Noir blender markers. The ovals were cut with Gina K Designs/Thermoweb stitched oval dies along with one Spellbinders Nestability Oval die (the pink one). The cardstock is SU pink, retired. I used a Crafter’s Companion Sparkle pen to give the tulips a bit of sparkle.

The inside is stamp is Joy Clair Easter Greetings. The white cardstock is Crafter’s Companion, cut with a The Stamps of Life Stitched Rectangle die. I used Gina K Designs ink in colors Blue Lagoon, Bubblegum Pink, and Moonlit Fog. The black ink used is Memento Tuxedo Black. The patterned paper is Echo Park Easter Wishes.

Stenciled Roses

I used a rose stencil from Hot Off the Press. I blended with a blender brush using Lawn Fawn inks: Celery Stick for the green, Guava and Wild Rose for the pinks, and Moonstone for the blue; the blue turned pink tones purple. I used a Gina K stamp called More Massive Messages.

This card will be mailed to a lady turning 83 in April. As this is the same age as my mother, I chose to make a card that I knew my Mom would like. I think this lady will like the card. She doesn’t get much mail anymore and is always hoping for some, so her daughter requested cards for her. This request is located on Split Coast Stampers.
