Happy 65th

The Sisterhood of Crafters

My card today is a Double Easel Fold card that I found on Pinterest and should fit the The Sisterhood of Crafters Happy Birthday or Fun Fold or Both challenge. For a fun fold card this came together quite easily for me. The stamped image is a SU Giggle Greetings, my background was created using Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders, and the following dies were used: Sizzix Tim Holtz Celebrate, GKD’s Large Single Stitch circle die, Spellbinders Classic Circle die, Mementa number dies, PoppyStamps Pinpoint Balloons dies.

Hubby’s birthday is next weekend and we will still be on Stay At Home orders in Pennsylvania but we will celebrate his 65th birthday and “welcome” to Medicare health insurance. Will takes great pride that he doesn’t cook so I’m thinking that the ‘cheese’ cake will hit home that point! So happy to be celebrating him and 65!!

Thanks for looking and tomorrow is Saturday!

Bird Sparkle

The Paper Players PP487
Mod Squad Challenge – Birds

A CAS Sparkle challenge from The Paper Players and a Bird challenge from ModSquad Challenge and all I could think of was Uh Oh! But actually I think I really like my card. I masked off a space and used Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders to create some color, then stamped and embossed my Inkadinkadoo bird image (Bird challenge) in bronze embossing powder (sparkle). I actually pulled up my border washi tape without incident. Added some strips cut from DCWV The Natural Stack paper pack (more sparkle) and then heat embossed the sentiment from GKD’s Whimsical Spring stamp set (final sparkle). I really wanted to add that extra layer of color behind my focal layer but held back. Yes, I do believe I like it.

Seeking Rainbows

As You See It Challenge #223
Double D Showers & Flowers Challenge

It’s raining today outside my windows and I will be hopeful that a rainbow will appear however if that doesn’t happen today I created a rainbow umbrella and added some rainbow patterned paper to enter this card into the As You See It Challenge #223 – Somewhere Over the Rainbow. And in addition to that I’ll also be entering my card into Double “D” Challenges – Showers & Flowers. I have an umbrella so it must be raining, added some flowers from my stash as well as using the Tim Holtz lace layering stencil which is flower images and inked in SSS Sunshine hybrid ink. The patterned paper as well as my image and sentiment are all from the SSS April kit “Follow the Rainbow” stamp set. Thanks for two fun challenges. Thanks for looking and wishing everyone rainbows!

Denim Rust Flower

DRU Challenge 143 – Spring Flowers
Just Us Girls Color Week #532

I was attempting to make some backgrounds to keep on hand and I believe I used alcohol pearls for this rust background, diecut it using the Waffle Flowers A2 dies popping up the inner frame with some foam adhesive. The flower is a die cut from Momenta (no name) that I picked up at my Hobby Lobby on sale. I cut this several times in white cardstock, cut once in Navy (GKD’s Blue Denim) inlaid the navy petals and once in Brown (GKD’s Dark Chocolate) for the the flower center and sentiment. Added some shimmer spray to my flower, sequins and sentiment from GKD’s Stippled Flowers stamp set.

This card will be entered in the color challenge of Brown, Navy and Rust at Just Us Girls.

and in the Dies R Us Challenge DRU Spring Flowers #143 Challenge. The dies used were the Waffle Flowers A2 dies and Momenta for my flower.

Have a great day. Stay Safe.

Spray So Grey

The Paper Players Color Challenge: PP486

Or maybe I should say Powder Scattered Tan! The Paper Players Color Challenge is to use this interesting color combination of Seaside Spray, So Saffron, Grey Granite so I came up with Powder Blue for my flowers, Scattered Straw for the sun and rays, and Aqua Spectrum Noir Tan Marker for the border and leaves. The stamp set used was GKD’s Sunshine & Love STVKit and Sunshine Stencil.

I like this color combo and it was a fun challenge by Jaydee at the Paper Players blog.

It Flies

AAA Cards CAS Game #163

The challenge for AAA Cards Clean and Simple Challenges #163 is a sketch and optional twist It Flies.

So CAS are normally a challenge for me so I decided to pull out my Denami Designs rocket ship for this challenge. I did add some very subtle clouds using my Bonnie cloud stencil inked with weathered wood Distress Ink. Very CAS but then I decided to decorate the inside of my card so don’t look if you are expecting CAS inside too.

Inside CAS

All of the stamps are Denami Designs. I haven’t played with them in quite some time and I believe it should be enough of a night sky that our grandson will appreciate. From CAS to Not!

Tulips Squared

Just Us Girls #531

A square card featuring a square shape is the Just Us Girls #531 Challenge – Trend Week. So for my card I created a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ square card using GKD’s wreath builder template for my Pretty Pink Posh Tulips stamp set. Good thing another square was required because I need to cover up my long stems. The sentiment and butterfly are a Recollections Valentine’s Day stamps and die set.

Happy Easter!

Narwhal and a Rainbow

The Sisterhood Of Crafters – Kids Cards

I have had this Picture Book Jumping Whale die from SSS on my desk for quite awhile so I figured it was time to put it to use. So our granddaughter has been talking about narwhals which may be the new unicorn to her age group so I decided to create this little ‘miss you’ card for her. My rainbow was created using a Lawn Fawn die and the colors are backwards but I after cutting the die with colored cardstock these were the leftover pieces. (and still have 4 more rainbows in random order to create) My clouds are My Favorite Things Die-namics die cut from glitter paper and I also used Corcord & 9th’s double cut alphabet dies cut from SSS rainbow paper. My go to cloud stencil created the soft background. So rainbows, narwhals, glittery fun are definitely a Brooke card. No stamps used on this card today just a lot of love.

Feather Napkin

Just Us Girls Word Week #530

I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fit any challenges in this week since I just completed my Easter and Spring cards and they are heading for the mailbox tomorrow. But I did complete the challenge for the Feathers Word Week from Just Us Girls Challenge. So feathers are not really my thing but I received a beautiful card from Johanna using the corner fold card and a napkin recently and Golda also posted a card on her blog with a napkin. My Easter napkins actually had a feather on it so this is what I created and the third time was the charm ( lots of scraps for me to play with after this project). GKD cardstock and patterned paper and the sentiment is from The Northwoods by Theresa Momber. Inside of the fold, I stamped a feather from GKD’s Vintage Chic stamp set. I found a message for the inside that reads “Feathers are reminders that Angels are always near”. This card is going to a cousin who lost her husband a few months ago.
