Pastel Easter

An Easter card for a sweet grand-friend of mine using pastel colors of a little yellow, a little orange, a little green. Stamped and colored in my bunny then fussy cut it and mounted on an oval piece of vellum The patterned paper was from a paper pad that I cut apart. This super cute card will be shared with:

Embossed Butterflies

My card today was made for Day 7 of my OnLineCard Class Stenciled 2 in which we were instructed to add a stamped image through the stencils. For my stenciled portion, I used SimonSaysStamps Mix & Match circles, ink blended and the flipped the stencil and ink blended in a darker shade. After the ink was completely dry, I replaced the stencil and stamped the butterfly image from Stampin Up’s Hoppy Easter in versamark and white embossing powder and heat set. I added a Gina K Designs word die and stamped sentiment to a piece of vellum and a few punched butterflies. Lots of different techniques for this OCC class. It was fun to particiapte.

My card today will be shared with the April Stencil Fun Challenge to use a stencil with a theme of PATTERNS.

April Showers

I was inspired to make today’s card with two different challenges in mind. The Double D Challenges is an April Showers theme and Cardz for Galz is looking for an easel card.

I don’t make a lot of easel cards but was ready to give it a go. Using Gina K Designs patterned papers and Warm Spring Wishes stamp set for the umbrella image and sentiment, a Frame in Frame 3 from Taylored Expressions die, I created my easel using different patterned papers, adding the white frame, stamped, colored & fussy cut the umbrellas as well as fussy cutting an additional chick with rainboots from the patterened paper which was popped up completes my card today.

I’ll be sharing this card today with:

First Easter

Our grandson’s first Easter card. I’m pretty sure he won’t be attending any Easter egg hunts as he is just trying to get crawling accomplished. I was first going to enter this shaped card into the AAA Cards challenge but then didn’t think it was CAS enough for that challenge blog. Then I was going to enter it into the As You Can See It challenge with an outdoor theme until I realised that it was a timed challenge and I forgot to set my timer. So I’ll just be sharing this one with all of you.

My card was die cut using SSS Nested Eggs die and a second cut to cover the top fold portion that formed the card. Inky Antics cloud stencil and some blues left on blending brushes made my clouds, The sun is from Gina K’s Your Own Kind of Beautiful from the Sentimental Summer StampTV Kit, Stampin Up’s Heaven Blessed is the main stamped and colored image. My grass was die cut using The Cat’s Pajamas grass cut ups die and some Poppy Stamps Stitched Eggs Medley dies.

Easter 2023

Can You Handle The Pressure?

I do believe this will be my Easter card for this year. As of course I am behind schedule again, I’m not sure how many cards I will get completed but I’m really happy with this one. After using the Taylored Expressions Redeemer embossing folder, I then carefully lined up the Redeemer layering stencils**** and ink blended in Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender and Wild Lilac and SimonSaysStamp Seafoam and Surf inks. The final item is the Redeemer detail die which was cut from SSS matte gold cardstock. I really like how these Taylored Expressions pieces were designed to work perfectly together. I’m hoping to complete another card tomorrow using the Foil It background and stencils. I think it could also be embossed but will save that for another time. I didn’t add an outside sentiment. What do you think?

Today’s card will be shared with the Can You Handle the Pressure blog. My card includes the required embossing folder and the Easter twist.

****corrected to read layering stencils not dies.

Dotted Bow

Can You Handle the Pressure – Rainbows

My card today will be shared with the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge blog group. Requirements include an embossing folder and an optional theme of RAINBOWS.

For my rainbow I used the Pink Fresh Studio Color Block Rainbow die multiple times to get my rainbow colors. After adding the color pieces to the frame, I embossed it usig a Cuttlebug dot embossing folder. The flowers are Gina K Designs ephemera as is the die and shadow.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Vellum Emboss

Cards 4 Galz Challenge #194

My card today will be shared with Cards 4 Galz Challenge #194 to use vellum on your card project. After giving this some thought, I decided to stencil a Darice daisy stencil onto my vellum and then cut a Taylored Expressions frame from their Frame in Frame 3 cutting plate to use as my border and to be able to glue down the vellum. Looking through my patterned paper pads, I decided on this abstract piece which I think helps set off the embossed image. Sentiment is Taylored Expressions On Occasion stamp and die set and a little bit of bling for the flower centers will complete my card today.

Green Christmas

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #35

A fun and inspiring green March mood board from Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #35 which is an Anything Goes Christmas challenge. My card today is using Taylored Expressions liquid watercolor in spearmint for my background. Brushing water on my watercolor paper panel then brushing on the liquid watercolor, I let my background dry then added another layer of water and water color. After drying again, cutting down my panel ran it through my on it’s very last legs Big Shot (yes I should just get used to the Gemini but it’s hard to let go of my Big Shot) using SimonSaysStamps Kaleidoscope embossing folder, then lightly inking the raised portions with Taylored Expressions’ Poblano Pepper ink and inking the edges for a little extra dimension. Snow hills are SSS Layered Hills dies, sentiment from Catherine Pooler Candy Lane Cane stamp set stamped in Poblano Pepper and my snow people were saved from a store bought card I received. The image was way too cute not to use so let’s call it ephemera.

CA&Stencil

AAA Cards Challenge #235

Stencil Fun Challenge – March 2023

A new day and a new challenge or two! AAA Cards Challenge #235 is always a clean and simple challenge and this month the challenge is ink blending along the edge. Stencil Fun March Challenge which you are required to use a stencil is also a CAS challenge so I’ll be sharing my card with both of these challenges.

Using the Tim Holtz Layering Lace stencil and very, very carefully masking my border, I ink blended pink, red and orange inks. Unfortunately these inks seemed closer in shades then I expected so the don’t have a lot of dimension. A sentiment from Taylored Expressions’ Scenic Sentiments stamp set and this card is completed. AND no fingerprints!! Nope, not adding anything else!!
