I love the Cottontail Wishes set from Simon Says Stamp. The bunnies are sooo cute. This is the card I made for my DH. I stamped the bunny in Soft Stone and used C01 and R20 to color him. I cut up a cotton ball to use for his tail. I stamped the eggs and jelly beans from the same set and colored with various Copics. I had several banners in my stash that I cut with a die by Lawn Fawn and the sentiment worked perfectly in one I had cut from Soft Stone. I used Soft Stone for the card base. This is a variation on an Easter card I did recently. I started with a piece of Wild Dandelion CS and stamped “The Old Rugged Cross” background stamp by Divinity Designs in Warm Glow ink. Next I brushed Wild Dandelion ink using the Sunburst stencil by Gina K Designs. On a piece of white CS I stamped the cross from Easter Wishes by Sunny Studios in Warm Cocoa ink and colored it with Copics – E35 and E33. The drape was colored with BV000 and BV01. The sentiment was stamped in Wild Lilac. I fussy cut the cross. I stamped the tiny daffodils from Framescapes Window of Wishes by Theresa Momber in Warm Glow on either side of the cross and colored with Y08, Y13 and YG23. I ended up separating the flowers from the leaves, then paper pieced them together at the base of the cross. This made the other daffodils sort of fade into the background, so I stamped two more clusters of daffodils and trimmed off just the flowers. I outlined the leaves with a fine line black pen. I was quite pleased with the results. I’m entering this in the following challenges:
The As You See It Recipe for Whimsey consists of Flowers, Die Cut/Punch, Ribbon or Twine, Something Shiny and Patterned Paper. My Flowers and Watering Can were cut with dies by Hero Arts on plain white CS, I sponged on Wild Lilac and Grass Green for the tulips and highlighted them with a white Prisma Pencil. The Watering Can was cut with Soft Stone and colored with Copics C1 & C3 and added Clear Wink of Stella to make it shiny. For the bow I used a bit of purple and white Baker’s Twine. The Patterned Paper is from the Birthday Hoot PP by Gina K Designs. The mat is Wild Lilac on a Soft Stone card base. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for January.
The challenge at Just Add Ink is to include something that begins with the letter E. An Easter card seemed the obvious way to get in that E. I started with a piece of Lemon Drop CS and using the Sunburst Stencil, I sponged on Sweet Mango ink. Next I placed my panel in my MISTI (without the mousepad) and stamped “The Old Rugged Cross” background stamp in Warm Glow ink for a very subtle background. On a piece of White CS I stamped the cross from Easter Wishes in Warm Cocoa ink and colored with Copics: E23 and E25. The drape was colored with BV00 and BV01, then I stamped the sentiment in Obsidian. I stamped the Easter Lilies in Obsidian and colored with YG01, YG03, C00 and C01, the fussy cut the cross and the flowers. The lilies were a bit of a challenge to cut, but I wanted something at the base of the cross.
I saw this no line coloring video by Desiree Kuemmerle on the recent Simon Says Lucky to Know You blog hop and had to give it a try. I sponged the Daisy Bouquet stencil with Warm Glow ink, removed the stencil and started coloring with Prismas: Nectar – PC1092, Mahogany Red – P 1092, Lime Peel – PC1005, Olive Green – PC911, Sunburst Yellow – P917, Yellow Ochre – PC942, Burnt Ochre, PC943, Caribbean Sea – PC1123, Indigo Blue – PC901, Black Grape – PC996, Sepia – PC948, and White – PC938. The sentiment, from Bold & Blooming was stamped in Blue Denim. The mat is also Blue Denim and the card base is Sweet Corn. This was fun to do, but I need a lot of practice with my shading. I’m entering this in the Just Us Girls #528 Color Week Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes. And another card for my birthday stash.
Sympathy cards are always hard to create, but when I had to create cards for three generations for my extended family it was especially hard. This is for my BFF whose three week old great granddaughter died suddenly. Using a makeup brush I used Lemon Drop ink on the Water Droplets stencil (Gina K Designs) for a soft background. The Daffodil, by Divinity Designs was colored with Copics and cut with the matching die. The sentiment is from Sincere Sentiments by Stampendous. The card base is soft stone, my new favorite card base. I’m entering this in the Simon Says Monday Challenge to use a stencil.
This is for the baby’s grandmother. I used the Rose Lace background stamp by Gina K Designs stamped in Kraft on white with a Kraft card base. The sentiment is from Extra Grand Sentiments by JustRite, stamped in Dark Chocolate.
And this is for the baby’s mother. The Rose Lace Background was stamped in Innocent Pink, on a Dusty Rose card base. The sentiment from Peony Wishes was stamped in Stormy Sky. The butterfly die is from the My Hero January Kit, cut in Dusty Rose. The body and antenna were colored with a black marker and highlighted with a Stardust Clear Glitter pen. I am entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge to use things with wings.
It’s Trend Week at Just Us Girls. The trend is to use a black background. The big, solid floral corner from A Big Hello by Gina K Designs was stamped in Unicorn White ink by Hero Arts. I let it sit all day to make sure it was dry, the colored with Prisma pencils: PC908 Grass Green, PC912 Apple Green for the stems and leaves, PC923 Scarlet Lake and PC925 Crimson Lake for the flowers. I added dots around the stems and leaves with a white gel pen. The sentiment from Wild Blossom also from Gina K Designs, was stamped twice in Barn Door Distress Oxide ink, then once with Unicorn White which I thought gave a pretty good match to the flowers. I added a Red Velvet border, then used a white card base. This was a fun challenge and now I have another birthday card for my stash.
The challenge at The Male Room is to use Team Colors. I have friends that live in Ohio so I chose red and gray for Ohio State. The horseshoe, from a retired set by Theresa Momber for Gina K. Designs called Out West was stamped in VersaMark and embossed in silver on a Stormy Sky card panel. The sentiment is from Scripty Encouragement, also by Gina K Designs stamped in Red Velvet on a Red Velvet card base.
It’s all about the Green at Double D Challenges and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog wants us to use some Green.This card is for the man who always donates cabbage for the annual Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner that I co-chair each year. I turned the cute little gnome die from Simon Says Stamp into a leprechaun, or maybe he’s a gnomrechaun. The pattern paper for his lower garment is from a pack by Authentique that has some awesome green designs. I colored his hat with Copic G09 and his nose with E11. The THANKS die is also by Simon Says Stamp cut three times and layered. The pot o’gold is from a die by Taylored Expressions. The tiny bit o’gold is Christmas wrapping paper from Target. The background is Sandy Beach embossed with Forest Branches. The card base is Key Lime.
