Sweet Lemons

My card pack from Simple Stories and lemon stamps have not left my work space this week. I colored an image last night, finished it today, then completed a card. This will be entered in several challenges.

The patterned paper is Simple Stories–Simple Vintage Lemon Twist. It is featured as the gingham layer and behind the window. The window was die cut using a Memory Box die. I used the partial die cut technique as the window die only has 4 panes. I needed a larger window, so it was cut in 3 pieces and placed together to make it large enough for the window box. Then I ran the cut window through the SU Pinewood Planks embossing folder and ink blended Dark Chocolate ink over it. I added the turquoise pattern for sky. The window box and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp You Shine stamp set. The card base is from My Favorite Things cardstock.

The embossing allows me to add to Can you Handle the Pressure? I chose not to use the wedding theme.

I used a die, so I will add this to Cardz for Galz #201:

I enjoyed finishing this card today. It is a beautiful Spring day here quickly reaching Summer temperatures. I enjoy the longer days and sunshine. Thanks for spending part of your day with me.

    1. It does work well. There are butterflies on this piece of paper, thought they blend in quite well. Thanks!

    1. Thank you! I do like your challenge this month with the lemons. It allows me to use some of my lemon stamps.

  1. Glad to see you at Cardz 4 Galz and this is a lovely entry into the various challenges you have decided on. The lemon background is perfect and I love how you played with the die cut to make it the size you needed.

    1. Thanks! I got my daughter to listen as I talked through creating a large enough window. It is not something I do everyday, but I like the end result.

  2. Lovely card, Lisa. The yellow and turqouise go so well together. The flower bos and your windos is so sweet.

    1. Thank you! The paper pack has yellow, turquoise, and black. They have so many patterns in those colors, it makes it hard to really mess up in the color coordination.

  3. thank you for sharing your wonderful card using die cut (window) for our challenge at C4Galz. See you next time!

  4. This is a lovely card. Your use of the turquoise with the yellows is wonderful. I love that vellum vallance with the sentiment, too.

    1. Thank you! That set is so fun. This is the first time using this window box. I purchased the paper last year when it came out as I really liked it, then this set became available at a good price this year. It is fun to pull them out and create as the paper and stamps go perfectly together.
