Fall Leaves

Our weather is changing with cooler evenings making it feel like Fall. Since it is feeling like Fall, I made a card with leaves.

I used the Stampin’Up retired set called Blended Seasons for the leaves. I moved the image several times in my MISTI to have leaves all over the background. I used watercolor paper and embossed the leaves in gold to capture the water and color. The color palette is from Splitcoast Stampers CC912: Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, and Garden Green. To make the color more intense, I used reinkers for Poppy Parade and Crushed Curry. I do not own a green one, so came back with a marker to give it more color.

The Hello is a die from Gina K Designs which came in a butterfly stencil kit. I chose to use the Early Expresso color to cut the word Hello and Vellum for the shadow.

I really like how this card came out. I enjoy watercolor in how quickly you can achieve vibrant color on the image.

  1. Your falling leaves are beautiful. I like your watercoloring. How nice to have cooler weather – but since we both live in Missouri we know who quickly that can change. I’m enjoying it while I can though.

    1. Yes, the weather will change at the drop of a hat. I am enjoying it while I can. Thanks! I enjoy coloring these leaves.

  2. Absolutely beautiful. You did an amazing job creating the falling leaves background and I love the vellum shadow.

  3. Lisa, this is absolutely gorgeous. Your leaves look like they are swirling around in the wind. Gorgeous colors and the added gold embossing is perfect.

    1. Thank you! I liked the gold rather than using black ink with clear embossing powder. Leaves have to swirl, especially when they have color!

  4. The background panel you created looks awesome! Nice to emboss all the leaves in gold before water coloring. Love the vellum shadow for your greeting; just enough to stand out against your colorful leaves.
