The challenge with Laurie at The Paper Players is a clean and simple challenge with a theme of Blooms. I’m thinking since blooms are small and not fully opened flowers I would use a spotlight technique to ink in a portion of my larger stamped flower. Mindy Eggen recently did a card featuring this technique on her blog.
I decided on Stampin Up’s From the Garden stamp which was stamped in versamark ink and white heat embossed. Using a masking circle stencil, I blended inks in orange, pink and purple-ish. I wasn’t sure of the color names since these inks were left over on the blending brushes. I was lucky to have come across a piece of Gina K Designs Wild Orchid cardstock which seemed to fit perfectly with my spotlighted colors and added a sentiment strip coloring it with the same blending brush. Amazing how much ink really stays on those brushes.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.
Very pretty!
Stunning!
Beautiful CAS card my friend.
Clean and beautiful, Gayle! I love the colors you blended together. It truly is amazing how much ink stays in the blending brushes. The spotlight technique works perfectly with this image, and keeps things clean and simple. Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!
Thanks so much, Ann, I struggle with CAS but enjoy playing in the challenges.
This is gorgeous Gayle. It fits perfectly for the challenge and you blending is 100%. I love it and its a winner in my eyes.
Thanks, so much Johanna, those CAS cards always seem to be more difficult to make for me.
Blending brush are one of the greatest inventions, especially where you got such an ombre look with all your elements.
Thanks, Bonnie, I find the blending brushes easy to use.
Your ink bended blooms have a wonderful effect. Your spotlighting technique is a perfect way to highlight them. Love this CAS elegance! Thanks so much for joining us this week at The Paper Players!
Thanks so much for commenting and a great challenge.
Gayle, this is a beautiful card! I love your ink blending with the white flower. Blending brushes are amazing tools and definitely hold the ink. If you ever want to clean them well, spray with spray hand sanitizer and then rub on a paper towel or cloth. They dry almost instantly, and it really does clean them, though it takes a lot of the spray.
Thanks so much for the tip on cleaning the brushes, Golda, I definitely will try that. I do use hand sanitizer to clean up the glass mat.
